In this confined prison, the possibility of escaping was minuscule. Luo Zheng pondered for a long ti to no avail, suddenly recalling what the madman had ntioned. The people detained here were not just Special Agents or soldiers, but also political prisoners. None of these types were simple, and from a certain perspective, they were not really prisoners, just people with different stances and viewpoints. Could he, for instance, be considered a prisoner?
Words from an old National Blade who had been here for thirty years were deeply trusted by Luo Zheng. So, what kind of prison was this exactly? Was it really built underground? Thinking of this, Luo Zheng's expression turned solemn, and a not-so-conventional idea ca to his mind—to incite all the people here to riot, not just on his floor, but all the inmates within the prison.
People fear comparison. With a sense of disparity cos unrest, and this principle Luo Zheng had learned from psychology books. Now, the inmates on his level were given longer tis outside their cells and special food treatnt. Once word got out, wouldn't the inmates above and below demand the sa? As long as there was a disturbance, there might be a chance to escape afterward.
Thinking this, Luo Zheng analyzed carefully and thought it worth a try in the absence of a better plan. His restless heart gradually cald down as he continued the monotonous life of training and reading.
After an indeterminate length of ti, it was ti to go out. Luo Zheng approached the door. Everyone had been getting along well during this ti, and as they greeted each other, Luo Zheng called a few people over, his expression stern, and whispered, "Do you want to escape this cursed place?"
"What?" Everyone looked at Luo Zheng in surprise. Everyone held here was not simple. Luo Zheng did not plan to deceive them but rather incited everyone to escape together. Their fate in escaping depended on everyone's effort. Escaping alone was definitely impossible. As for snitching, Luo Zheng was least worried. Special Agents, soldiers, and political prisoners weren't ordinary inmates and had no notion of earning redemption by ritorious deeds, so snitching was unlikely.
The few people around him beca cautious. Everyone had been imprisoned here for so ti, long having given up hope of life. Suddenly soone proposed escaping—escaping would be great, who would want to just wait for death? But, they weren't foolish; such matters had to be approached with caution. What did it an to discuss it so openly?
Luo Zheng saw their confusion and sneered, "You can see that the possibility of escaping here is not great, but if all stand united, then there's a chance. I won't lie to you, there's no specific plan, but there's an idea, which is to instigate everyone to make a disturbance."
"How would we do that?" one of the inmates asked quietly.
"Spread the word about our current treatnt to those on the floors above and below, let them go on a hunger strike to demand the sa treatnt as us. I'll tell you the next steps when the ti cos, dare to do it," Luo Zheng scoffed.
"Let's do it, there's no hope of living through this anyway, it's just death either way," one of the inmates snorted.
After a mont of contemplation, others also expressed their agreent. With no hope of life, living was just waiting for death, and those days were excruciating. With Luo Zheng leading, everyone felt motivated. If soone else had initiated it, perhaps no one would have cared, but Luo Zheng was different. He had initiated disturbances and coerced the prison to compromise before, a bold act they had all witnessed. Knowing Luo Zheng as a daring and ticulously planning man, following him might just lead to a real escape.
"Tell the idea to other people around, then shout to the people on the floors above and below," seeing everyone willing to cooperate, Luo Zheng secretly thrilled, instructed.
"Alright then." Everyone excitedly agreed, even in these tedious days when nothing good ever happened. Even if it didn't succeed, couldn't they find so fun? What if it did succeed? Everyone, filled with expectations, began shouting loudly, sharing their treatnt with those on floors above and below.
Luo Zheng paid no mind to these matters and instead made his way to Cell Block 9. When the madman heard the shouting, he imdiately understood Luo Zheng's plan. A hint of a smile crossed his haggard face as he whispered, "The idea of inciting everyone to rebel together is good, and, moreover, people here are nearly driven insane already—just a spark will set them off. However, ticulous planning is required afterward."
The eminent madman, whose reckless actions once startled the whole world, was now advising Luo Zheng to be cautious. Luo Zheng was sowhat surprised by this change—it seed that the environnt really could change a person. He gave a sheepish smile and said, "Hmm, I don't even know where this wretched place is. It won't be easy to escape; we'll have to create an opportunity. Are you all right health-wise?"
"I can still move, but I can't run fast. How did you get in? Such an extre form of resistance—aren't you afraid they'll execute you? It's quite normal for them to execute prisoners here, otherwise, I wouldn't be so calm," the madman asked softly, his curiosity piqued.
"If they wanted to kill , they would have done it already instead of locking up here. I can't explain it clearly now, but I'll tell you slowly after we get out," Luo Zheng whispered, noticing soone approaching. He nodded ambiguously to the approaching person, planning to continue his conversation with the madman after the person passed. However, he acutely noticed that the person was coming toward him, which made him tense up and go on guard.
"A private talk?" the other person whispered, then continued walking forward.
Luo Zheng and the madman exchanged a glance, followed apprehensively, and saw the person stop at the door of his own cell. Luo Zheng approached and, before he could speak, the other person preempted him, "Don't get wrong, just making a friend. If possible, let's cooperate and escape this damned place together."
"Cooperation requires credentials. Since you've co to , you clearly trust in my abilities and deem worthy to collaborate with. So, what are your credentials?" Luo Zheng spoke calmly, his face as placid as still water. Having been through much, Luo Zheng had learned to hide his emotions, his expression revealing nothing of his thoughts.
"There are five of us brothers, all imprisoned on this floor, who can serve as your assistants. My na is Jeff," the other person said evenly, also looking forward, as if they were just making idle conversation.
Luo Zheng could sense a military aura emanating from the man—he and his four brothers were probably a squad, and this man was likely the commander. Yet, he didn't probe further. Such inquiries were pointless. After a mont, he continued, "Alright, if we're to cooperate, soone must take full responsibility. You just ntioned being an assistant, so you'll have to follow orders. You seem to be a military man, so you should understand the logic here?"
"Of course, as long as it doesn't threaten our lives, we'll follow your lead. Turn the warden on his head, get everyone together for a rebellion. You have strong tactical abilities, a ticulous mind, and well-planned strategies. I trust you, but what's your next move?" the man referred to as Jeff asked.
"Just wait, I'll inform you when the ti cos. Once we escape, everyone will go their separate ways. Until then, I hope you keep your word. If not, I won't hesitate to kill you," Luo Zheng said coldly, his glance full of warning as he turned and walked back to his room. It was ti for so fresh air.
