As night fell, the manor was brightly lit, and the canyon quieted down. Under the moonlight, clusters of grapes emitted a tempting fragrance, the leaves danced as if they were elves twirling in the moonlight. A breeze blew by, carrying a swirl of leaves that fluttered down and eventually landed beside a rock. Behind that rock, a person slowly stood up, straightened his sowhat wrinkled clothes, looked up at the moon, and his eyes sharpened. It was Shadow.
The darkness was Shadow's favorite ti to fight. Shadow spoke through the earpiece, "Sniper, report the situation."
"All clear." Lan Xue's voice ca through the earpiece, clear to everyone.
Shadow took a deep breath, did a chest expansion exercise, and said in a low voice, "Prepare for battle." Then he went to the dirt road, dug up all the previously planted grenades—grenades intended to prevent anyone from driving away in escape. No one had left the manor, so the grenades went unused, but with even more brutal fighting coming up, they couldn't afford to waste them.
Quickly packing the grenades into his backpack, Shadow took a pistol in hand, chambered a round, and after one more glance at the bright moonlight, he said, "Brothers, there's a special pleasure in killing under this enchanting moonlight. Are you all ready? Snow Leopard, Mountain Eagle, follow and form a triangular attack formation."
"Understood." Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle responded, not daring to compete with Shadow for the point position of the triangular formation. In the face of absolute power, they had to submit. Shadow, crouching, dashed into the vineyard, moving like a shadow under the night sky, swift and light as if he were just gliding through.
Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle didn't dare to lag behind. They quickly crouched and followed, spreading out as they sprinted, fearful of falling behind, each one as fierce and swift as a hunting cheetah. Although they couldn't match Shadow's speed, they were not slow and also made their way into the vineyard, following Shadow forward.
Soon, the three arrived at the edge of the vineyard. Just ahead was a flat grassy area, about a thousand square ters in size, covered with low weeds, and beyond that a slope leading up to the parking area and spacious manor, with many people patrolling above. From their elevated position, overlooking the open grassland below, the bodyguards felt no concern.
The manor was built on a hillside that rose softly from the ground, like a stead bun. The terrain at the back and sides was similar to the front, so regardless of where they chose to attack from, they would face the sa situation. Therefore, Shadow simply chose the front. Rushing over the grassland would be easy, but doing so would expose their movent, and by the ti they reached the base of the slope, they would face a fierce attack from the bodyguards.
After observing for a while, Shadow said softly, "The grassland in front is about a hundred ters wide, and at full speed, we won't take ten seconds to cross it. But this will definitely reveal our position. The sniper must provide tily fire support and take down enemies who spot us."
"Understood," Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle responded coolly in soft voices.
Their voices, transmitted through the earpiece, reached everyone's ears. Shadow, after observing the terrain once more, continued, "It's easy to charge over, but it'll be tricky once we do. The enemy will counterattack using vehicles for cover. So, when we reach the base of the slope, don't be hasty to open fire. Imdiately throw the grenades, all of them, don't hold back. I'll go first, and we'll play it by ear from there."
"Okay." Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle did not object and firmly agreed, readying themselves.
"Charge." Shadow suddenly spoke in a low voice, pushing off the ground forcefully, his body sprinting ahead like a cannonball shot from its barrel, creating a blending shadow into the moonlight, truly living up to his codena.
Seeing this, Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle realized they had underestimated Shadow's abilities and hurried to catch up, locking their sights on the enemies on the hillside, ready to fire at any mont.
"Whoosh whoosh!" Two sniper bullets suddenly whistled past, flying over their heads with a buzzing sound as they exploded, killing two alerted bodyguards on the hillside with headshots, spattering brain matter and blood under the moonlight in a ghastly and horrifying display. The bodies were flung several ters away, dropping to the ground and startling all the nearby bodyguards.
Seeing the sniper had engaged, Shadow and the others knew the enemy was aware of them and clenched their teeth to accelerate. Six seconds later, Shadow was the first to dive at the base of the slope, pulling the pin on a grenade and throwing it up the hill. Eight seconds later, Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard also dove in. Hearing the explosion of the grenade, they didn't seek cover, instead hastily pulling the pins from the grenades they had prepared, throwing them forcefully up the slope.
"Boom boom!" Two massive explosions rang out; one grenade blew a car into the air, while another landed at the feet of two n, catapulting them into the air with a scream as their limbs and flesh flew in all directions. Soon, their lifeless bodies hit the ground, dead on impact.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh! Several more grenades were thrown, sailing through the void beneath the moon, like deadly warrants of doom, one of them falling right at the entrance to the manor. Several people had just rushed out to check the situation and were blown away by the grenade, leaving none unscathed.
The continuous explosions shattered the silence of the moonlit night, drawing all the bodyguards' attention. Seeing grenades continuously thrown up from the base of the hill, they all looked for cover. After firing off all his grenades, Shadow, taking up a pistol, shouted, "Sniper, cover , let's charge!"
"Yes." Everyone roared in response. Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle continuously took out targets exposed to their line of fire, while Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle quickly followed behind Shadow. The three, crouching low, charged up the hill and ducked behind a car, noticing many enemies taking cover and firing at them. Bullets pinged around them loudly, and poking their heads out was suicidal.
Shadow signaled to Mountain Eagle and Snow Leopard nearby for covering fire using tactical hand signs. Using the car as his cover, he cautiously moved towards the hood, surveyed the surroundings for a bit, and then fired a shot, taking out a light bulb at the gate which plunged the area into darkness. With a forceful push from his legs, he darted forward like an arrow shot from a bow, his presence reduced to a re blur.
By the ti the bodyguards at the vicinity realized sothing was amiss, Shadow had already reached the entrance, hiding behind a column. He swiftly gunned down any bodyguard in sight. Snow Leopard and Ghost Hand felt the pressure lessen and charged forward, firing as they ran. Two bodyguards shouted as they erged from cover, about to shoot at Ghost Hand, but Lan Xue had them in her sights. Two sniper shots rang out, headshotting the bodyguards, narrowly saving Ghost Hand's life as he charged forward.
The three took cover behind three Roman columns at the entrance, with most bodyguards around them neutralized. Soone inside was firing at them, blocking their way forward with fierce gunfire; a reckless charge would be suicidal. Shadow's face turned cold as he shouted, "Any grenades left?"
