On the abandoned aircraft carrier, Luo Zheng stood quietly on the deck, his expression proud yet sorrowful, his face as heavy as iron. The sudden appearance of the aircraft carrier had imposed a trendous pressure on him. Although there had been no attack for several hours, all necessary preparations had been made. Whether they could withstand the assault from Sam Country was unknown; their chances of survival and escape even less certain.
Moonlight gently caressed the deck, casting a long shadow behind Luo Zheng. The many prisoners hidden in the darkness waited with solemn anticipation, occasionally glancing at Luo Zheng standing in the wind. Their worry dissipated; it seed that as long as Luo Zheng was there, there was nothing to fear. At worst, they would et their end, but having survived thus far, having captured police and seized enemy reinforcents, causing such an uproar—they felt it was all worth it.
To die gloriously in battle, rather than languish in prison, was worth everything for them. No one blad Luo Zheng for inciting the prison break and resistance. The strong always admire the strong, and Luo Zheng's deeds had earned everyone's utmost respect and gratitude without regret.
The man called Madman limped over to Luo Zheng, gazing at the Sam Country aircraft carrier in the moonlight, which seed like the all-devouring Death God, radiating an aura of despair and death. With a slight frown and then a glance at the night sky, he gave a bitter smile and said, "Are you still worried about tomorrow?"
"Yes, I said I'd get you out of here alive, but now I'm not sure I can do it." Luo Zheng replied with a wry smile.
"Whether there is a tomorrow doesn't matter. What's important is to live well in the present. To be honest, I never thought I'd have the chance to see the sunrise or the moon again in my life. For this enchanting moon, even if it costs my life, it's worth it. I believe the others feel the sa. Everyone is prepared to die, so you shouldn't feel pressured. Death is expected; we were all supposed to die here anyway. Being alive is a pleasant surprise, sothing we can't demand. It's a pity the communication equipnt was so thoroughly destroyed, it can't be repaired. Perhaps this is all fate," the Madman said, looking at the reflection of the moon on the sea, speaking slowly and helplessly.
"Fate?" Luo Zheng's deep gaze shifted towards the distant sea, contemplating the silhouette of the carrier that was intermittently visible. After a while, Luo Zheng suddenly said, "Big brother, I've never believed in fate. It's all up to us. Even if we die, it's because we weren't good enough. Several hours have passed and Sam Country hasn't launched a further rescue, which is strange. But no matter what, we must be ready for battle. Can you think of anything we haven't prepared?"
The Madman gave a wry smile and said, "You've already done very well. Let nature take its course. Striving too hard will only make you anxious and not sharp enough, leading to wrong decisions in the end."
"You're right, I've been too demanding. Forget it, whatever will be, will be. I've done all that can be done; there's no point worrying about it now." Luo Zheng replied bitterly, taking a deep breath. Suddenly, he felt a surge of urgency, took a few steps forward, and stared intently at the sea ahead, his expression grave. Eagerly, he asked, "Big brother, look at the sea. Is there soone swimming towards us?"
"You an the enemy might attack from underwater?" the Madman said in surprise, taking a few steps forward and looking intently. The sea was pitch black; nothing was visible, which made his heart tighten. He said, "Should we call people over for backup defense? If Sam Country's reinforcents launch a sneak attack from the sea, it will indeed be tough to guard against."
"Yes, if we hadn't noticed and they suddenly ca up onto the deck, we'd be caught off guard and at a disadvantage," Luo Zheng replied gravely. He was about to arrange for reinforcents when he caught a glimpse of movent out of the corner of his eye. Startled, he took a closer look. Under the moonlight, indeed, soone was swimming desperately, their strokes smooth and fast. Shocked, he urgently called out, "Big brother, over there!"
Following Luo Zheng's pointing direction, the Madman also spotted the person, his eyes narrowing in surprise and suspicion. "Sothing's not right. If it's a stealth attack, it doesn't make sense for them to just swim over. Surely Sam Country isn't so poor as to lack even the basic diving gear? The people coming might not be a rescue team."
"Makes sense," Luo Zheng was startled, suddenly saw the light, and said, "Brother, bother you to find so rope. I'll keep watch here. It could be one of our people coming, whoever it is, for sure they wouldn't be a part of Sam Country's rescue team swimming over like this, and since it's just one person, they must be favorable to us."
"Makes sense." The madman quickly left.
Luo Zheng stared intently at the person swimming over. When they got closer, he felt a familiar sensation and was shocked. He kept watching, and as the figure drew nearer, the feeling of familiarity intensified. He couldn't help but shout out loud, "Who's there?" using the Huaxia language.
"Is it really you?" A voice cried out in surprise, with an incredible sob, tearing through the night and drifting over on the wind, clearly entering Luo Zheng's ears.
Hearing this familiar voice, Luo Zheng was stunned, forgetting to reply, foolishly staring at the swiftly approaching figure, breaking into a silly grin. The madman ca over with rope, followed by Jeff and others. Seeing Luo Zheng's foolish expression, they were startled and asked, "What's happened?"
"Ah?" Luo Zheng snapped back to reality, surprised as he looked at the approaching madman. Suddenly thinking of sothing, he didn't reply but hurriedly took a few steps forward and dove headfirst into the sea, startling the madman and others who rushed over, shouting from the edge of the cabin, "What's going on?"
"One of our own," Luo Zheng managed to shout before jumping into the water. He swiftly swam forward, then shouted after surfacing, "Xue Er, is it really you?"
"It's , right here." It was indeed Lan Xue. Hearing Luo Zheng's call, she was overjoyed and spurred on, desperately swimming towards where Luo Zheng was.
Luo Zheng heard her clearly, knew it was truly Lan Xue coming, and was over the moon with joy. He swam desperately over to her, and soon the lovers who had been apart for over three months held each other tightly. No words were needed, no greetings required. Their lips pressed together firmly, heartily expressing their worry and longing, unable to separate for a long ti, allowing their bodies to sink towards the sea bottom, fearing the other would leave once again.
After a while, due to a lack of oxygen, they both ca to their senses, regained their rationality, and struggled to the surface. Wiping the water from their faces, they smiled joyfully. At that mont, all worries vanished like smoke, all troubles disappeared without a trace. Intense love and happiness surged in their hearts.
They gazed into each other's affectionate eyes, seeing themselves reflected in the other, gentle as water. No recounting of their reunion, no anxiety about the peril they were in; their hearts clung tightly to each other. Under the moonlight, it was as if a pair of lovers, separated for thousands of years, had finally co together, experiencing bliss and warmth.
