The wind picked up, dark clouds obscured the sun, making the sky turn gloomy. The whistling wind rustled through the trees on the mountain ridge. Luo Zheng, Lan Xue, and Mountain Eagle lined up, their sniper rifles aid ahead. The chilling muzzles emitted an aura of death as the trio coldly aid forward, adjusting their state, preparing to strike.
Luo Zheng calculated the distance and wind speed and whispered quietly, "Mountain Eagle, target the enemy camp's radar, Xue Er, the helicopter in the camp, I'll take out the terrorist leader confronting Arctic Bear Country. Any problems?"
Mountain Eagle and Lan Xue locked onto their respective targets and readied themselves for combat. Luo Zheng quickly prepared to fire, and after making sure the others were also ready, he looked up at the sky. Dark rain clouds were drifting by. It would rain soon, covering their tracks and making it difficult for enemies to detect them—truly a blessing from heaven. He said coldly, "Ready, three, two, one."
"Shoo!" Almost simultaneously, the three of them pulled their triggers. Three sniper bullets shattered the silence in the valley, screaming through the air like three fierce beasts, frightening both sides confronting each other in the valley to look up, but only surrounding green-wooded mountain peaks could be seen, and the muzzle flashes were hidden by the trees, disappearing with the wind.
The leader from Arctic Bear Country, a lieutenant, felt his hair stand on end when he heard the gunfire. Before he could react, he felt a searing fla whistle past his ear, bursting his eardrums. Then, the captain watched a burst of blood explode as the head of the man who was just disputing with him was sniped, his body rigidly falling backward, carrying endless resentnt and anger.
"Not good." The captain imdiately realized sothing was wrong. He quickly dropped to the ground just in ti to hear two loud explosions within the camp. Shocked, he turned to look as the command radar of their training camp took a direct hit from an explosive round, with debris flying everywhere. Worse yet, the helicopter at the training camp also exploded into a fiery blaze.
"What?" The captain looked on in shock, unable to digest the scene for a mont, suddenly feeling the ard militants of the training camp all staring at him with nacing eyes, as if they wanted to devour him. Chilled, he hastily got up and ordered, "Quick, fall back."
At this mont, many people rushed out of the training camp buildings. After the leaders quickly assessed the situation, they imdiately commanded their troops to pursue the direction of the Arctic Bear Country army's retreat, shouting chaotically. With such a significant incident, soone had to be held accountable, and blaming Arctic Bear Country was undoubtedly the most convenient excuse.
After firing, Luo Zheng calmly raised his binoculars to scan for priority targets. Seeing the people from the training camp pursuing the troops of Arctic Bear Country, he couldn't help but smirk, letting out a breath of relief. As long as he had instigated the feud between the terrorists and Arctic Bear, he could fish in troubled waters.
After a while, Lan Xue suddenly lowered her voice and said, "The conflict has already been initiated. Next, the terrorists will surely tighten their defenses and be wary of Arctic Bear sending more troops for a crackdown. We don't have many chances left, why not let them fight each other to a mutual downfall?"
"That makes sense. We can also lay ambushes around, occasionally stirring up trouble, like sniping people from the terrorist training camp or targeting those from Arctic Bear Country to deepen their hatred," Mountain Eagle also said with a laugh, his eyes shimring with intelligence. Being selected for the National Blade Special Combat Team required high intellect.
"I say, we might as well catch up with the Arctic Bear Country army. If the people from the training camp chasing out don't kill the Arctic Bear Country troops, we'll take over. After all, the Arctic Bear Country army doesn't know about our presence; they'll definitely think it's the terrorists' doing. That would firmly establish their enmity," Ghost Hand suggested.
"You're worried the terrorists will catch up and not take action?" Luo Zheng asked softly, considering the possibility. However, he soon dismissed the thought as the distant sound of gunfire reached them. There was no doubt it was Arctic Bear Country clashing with the terrorists, prompting him to sigh deeply.
"This is good, as long as they fight, even if things clear up, there's no way they can coexist. The training camp has only one choice, to relocate. Then we'll follow and see if we can find Tiger King's Shadow. Killing is just to save lives; if Tiger King is not here, we will have to look elsewhere. You should know this terrorist organization has multiple hideouts, it's best not to expose ourselves without confirming Tiger King's identity," Lan Xue said softly.
Luo Zheng, finding her point sensible, thought for a mont and said, "The people at the training camp haven't discovered us yet. Let's observe for now. As for chasing the Arctic Bear Country military, I think we should forget it. They are already fighting; no need for us to worry. But, why haven't we seen Levsky and Shijing, these two key figures? Aren't they at this training camp?"
"Not detected," Mountain Eagle whispered, continuing to survey through the sniper scope.
The others also indicated they hadn't seen them. Luo Zheng calmly used his binoculars to watch the distant camp, where many were putting out fires and so were rushing out of the camp towards the direction of the fighting. The fire, fanned by the wind, spread quickly and was hard to extinguish. More people ran out, causing chaos in the camp.
Before long, Luo Zheng suddenly recognized soone, startling him, and he quickly shifted his binoculars to look, adjusting the focus. The man looked a lot like soone he had seen in a photo before; it should be Levsky, half-hidden next to a building, with only his head visible, grim-faced, directing his n to fight the fire.
Possibly sensing sothing, Levsky turned his head towards Luo Zheng's hidden location, frightening Luo Zheng into quickly pulling back, not daring to look again. Lan Xue, seeing Luo Zheng's reaction, couldn't help but ask in surprise, "What's wrong?"
"I spotted Levsky. But that guy's senses are so sharp, he actually sensed . Luckily I pulled back quickly, or there would be trouble," Luo Zheng hurriedly whispered. After waiting a mont, he peeked out again and raised his binoculars to continue observing.
Soon, Luo Zheng saw Levsky co out from behind the obstructing building, exposed under the binoculars. Next to him stood a middle-aged man with a beard, not very tall, slightly overweight, wearing a black hat, and with dark skin—not resembling a mber of the Yellow Race. Seeing Levsky's respectful deanor towards this man, Luo Zheng couldn't help but lower his binoculars, pondering in astonishnt.
"Any findings?" Lan Xue asked curiously in a low voice.
"I spotted a middle-aged man. Levsky is very respectful towards him. Could he be the head of the training camp? That man looks very ordinary, stout, with limited combat capability. Why would he command such respect from Levsky? What would happen if we took him out?" Luo Zheng said softly, his keen gaze shimring with vigilance.
