In a haze between waking and dreaming, Luo Zheng heard soone knocking on the door and suddenly opened his eyes wide. Knocking at this hour surely ant sothing urgent. His blurry eyes suddenly flashed with a sharp light. He quickly got up, turned on the light, opened the door, and saw Shi Feng standing at the entrance with a heavy expression, making Luo Zheng's heart sink. Sothing had indeed happened.
"The local officer brought over the surveillance tapes by mail. After analyzing them, we found a problem. The person responsible for the computers asked to co and get you. They seed very urgent, but didn't say much. Sorry for disturbing your rest," Shi Feng said quietly.
"This is indeed urgent." Knowing that Lan Xing had called, Luo Zheng realized it was serious. He rushed to the monitoring room diagonally opposite. The General's villa was too large and had a room specifically for surveillance.
Inside the monitoring room, Lan Xing was furiously typing on the computer with a serious expression. Her eyes were red, and her eye bags were visible. Though usually quirky, Lan Xing also beca a workaholic when given a task.
"What happened?" Luo Zheng walked quickly over, pulled over a chair, sat down, and asked.
Lan Xing glanced at Shi Feng. Shi Feng was taken aback, ready to leave, but Luo Zheng said, "Shi Feng is here to help, he's trustworthy, and has the right to know what's happening. Speak."
"Based on the neighborhood surveillance analysis from the past few days, we discovered a few suspicious individuals. I compared these suspicious targets with the database from the International Police Departnt, and guess what I found?" Seeing Luo Zheng say this, Lan Xing didn't hide it from Shi Feng either, typing a few keystrokes to display a person on the screen.
Luo Zheng saw a strong man around thirty-five years old, a Western Caucasian. Even through the screen, one could feel an extrely aggressive aura emanating from him. Luo Zheng couldn't help but be surprised and asked: "He looks quite handso, not like a bad person. What's his background?"
"A senior special agent from the Sam Country Strategic Intelligence Bureau, an independent operator, aning he works alone. Whenever he steps in, he's never failed. After five years in the Delta Special Forces, he spent five years in the Intelligence Departnt and was transferred to the Sam Country Ministry of Defense's direct Strategic Intelligence Bureau three years ago. This bureau's agents are directly commanded by the Minister of Defense. This guy is slippery and full of tricks, unstoppable. Facing him, we're in trouble," Lan Xing said seriously, a hint of fear in her eyes.
Luo Zheng could tell there was more to Lan Xing's words. After thinking for a mont, he said, "It seems Sam Country wants to hinder our nation's negotiations this ti and dispatched skilled agents here. So, what's his style and capability?"
"This guy once escaped from Shadow, not just Shadow, but an entire team's pursuit, leaving Hong ihua so embarrassed she retreated to a secondary position," Lan Xing said solemnly.
Shi Feng didn't know who Shadow or Hong ihua were, but Luo Zheng did. Shadow was the new generation of the most likely candidate to beco the Strongest Soldier King, with powerful combat skills, rarely t his match, yet the opponent slipped away with an entire team chasing him. Hong ihua, known as the new generation's most promising candidate to beco the Spy King, the King of Spies, was teased so much she lost her spirit and retreated to a secondary position. How strong must the opponent's spy skills be? Luo Zheng was greatly surprised, and his face beca serious.
"Is he formidable?" Shi Feng asked, noticing Luo Zheng's odd expression.
"Not just formidable, extrely formidable," Lan Xing added.
"Can you be more specific?" Shi Feng pressed, seeing Luo Zheng not speaking, felt worried that if the opponent was exceedingly formidable, this mission might be more challenging than anticipated.
"Let's put it this way, in terms of combat ability, even if everyone here combined our forces, we might not defeat him. Regarding spy skills, he could be the master of everyone present," Lan Xing explained sowhat exasperatedly. Initially, they thought they were dealing with a few assassins. No matter how strong, an assassin was just an assassin. Gains could be made, achievents awarded—a good trip. But they hadn't expected Charlie to co, complicating matters.
Shi Feng wanted to ask more, but Luo Zheng's expression changed, a determined look erupted with a strong fighting spirit. Staring at Lan Xing, he said, "Let him co; he's human too, and as a human, he has weaknesses. Before dawn, I need his detailed dossier. Any problems?"
"No problem. We have about a foot of information on him, but how much is true is unknown, you'll need to judge for yourself," Lan Xing replied quickly. Perhaps influenced by Luo Zheng's confidence, her worries gradually settled, considering if they indeed defeated him, she'd gain fa.
"I bet he's already aware of his exposure and won't show himself again. However, one must remain vigilant. Relay the recent events to your subordinates. Don't underestimate it," Luo Zheng reminded Shi Feng. Unexpectedly, the task had attracted a master like Charlie. Such governnt-backed agents were much harder to deal with than assassins—information, weapons, equipnt, all posed no issue for them.
After instructing Shi Feng, Luo Zheng moved to the living room, brewed a pot of tea for himself, and pondered ways to counteract. It seed that relying solely on the current manpower wouldn't suffice; more people were needed in the shadows. Thinking along these lines, Luo Zheng picked up the phone and dialed a long-uncontacted number.
The phone rang for a while before being answered. An annoyed voice, awakened by the call, asked, "Who is it? Calling so late, don't you let people live?"
"Captain Li, it's , Ghost," Luo Zheng quickly said apologetically. For his forr superior, Luo Zheng held imnse gratitude and respect. Without the care of Captain Li, Luo Zheng might have been worn down by Song Yang in the Special Forces pre-training camp and wouldn't have co this far.
"What Ghost, I am the King of Hell," Captain Li said impatiently, suddenly waking up and shouting, "Ghost? Is it you? Hahaha, you brat really are like a ghost, suddenly appearing out of nowhere. Scaring people without taking responsibility. You never call unless sothing's up. So, what's going on?"
"Captain, you understand well," Luo Zheng said gratefully.
"Cut the nonsense. You brat are thriving now, making proud. Tell , what's the deal? If it's a good opportunity, make sure it falls into this old brother's hands. Such a great rit can't be missed," Captain Li said.
"I want to get Shan Hu, Duke of Thunder, Golden Eagle, and Mountain Leopard to co over and help with the Beijing security mission," Luo Zheng explained sincerely, ward at heart. With brothers who had once lived and died together, he felt they were utterly trustworthy. The experience they gained in criminal investigation could also make up for his deficiencies.
"That's a great opportunity for a feat. But they aren't under my command. I can call them, if need be, asking them to take leave and go to Beijing as private citizens to find you. Hearing that you summoned them, they'd surely eagerly rush over. Besides, I'm currently vacationing in Beijing; shall I co to help you as well?" Captain Li said enthusiastically.
