A few minutes later, the helicopter landed in an open area near the martial arts hall. Luo Zheng jumped off the helicopter and walked forward, scanning the surroundings with a piercing gaze. The place was swarming with police, and a long cordon had been set up. The citizens had been evacuated and were watching from a distance. A middle-aged man in a suit and several policen hurried over.

"Are you sent by the higher-ups to solve the problem?" The middle-aged man asked Luo Zheng with a serious expression.

"Who are you?" Luo Zheng retorted.

"Never mind who I am. It doesn't matter. The crisis must be resolved. Our country's consistent policy towards these thugs is to strike hard without rcy. Protecting the people's safety and property is our duty. Since the higher-ups have arranged for you to co, I believe you are aware of the urgency and danger of the situation. Whatever you need us to do to cooperate, just say it, and I will arrange it to the best of my ability," the middle-aged man continued impatiently, carrying the air of soone in authority.

Luo Zheng gave the middle-aged man a cold glance and asked through the earpiece, "Who's this talkative guy?"

"Pfft," Lan Xing chuckled and said, "Judging by the voice, it should be the Party Secretary of Shanghai."

"What do you an, how dare you speak like that?" A young man beside the middle-aged man imdiately rebuked dissatisfiedly.

Luo Zheng's cold killing intent swept over, staring at the man. The young man felt his breath hitch, as if an invisible knife had pierced his heart. In his mind, a sense of collapsing death arose, shocking him. His face turned pale, and he couldn't speak, trembling all over.

Suppressing the urge to slap the young man, Luo Zheng's gaze moved past him to the martial arts hall's entrance not far away. The entrance was almost unrecognizable, marked with bullet holes, clearly indicating a firefight. Luo Zheng retracted his gaze and focused on a supervisor, asking, "Are you the highest-ranking police officer here?"

"I'm the chief of the municipal police bureau," the other party replied calmly, looking at Luo Zheng with a complex expression.

The Party Secretary felt his authority and status were being challenged, ignored, and expressed dissatisfaction, "The situation is critical, rescuing people is urgent. What do you plan to do?"

"Give your sidearm," Luo Zheng said coldly, ignoring the Party Secretary and addressing the police chief directly.

The police chief glanced awkwardly at the Party Secretary and refused, "Sorry, I can't give you my gun."

"Never mind then," Luo Zheng said indifferently, walking forward.

"What are you doing? Stop right there. What's your plan? I am not willing to entrust the lives here to a reckless man," the Party Secretary complained angrily.

"Repeat what you just said?" Luo Zheng paused, turned back, and stared coldly at the Party Secretary. His killing intent was almost tangible, easily dispelling the Party Secretary's authoritative aura.

The Party Secretary felt as if a cold blade had pierced his eyes, shredding his brain, and his whole thought process seed to freeze, greatly alarming him. When he realized, Luo Zheng had already walked away. The young man next to him was about to burst out in anger, but the Party Secretary stopped him with a look, feeling a subtle sense of anticipation.

Luo Zheng restrained the impulse to give the Party Secretary a thrashing, considering the urgency of ti, and avoided entangling with the Party Secretary. He headed straight to the martial arts hall, where a squad of ard police guarded the entrance. Luo Zheng said coldly, "Everyone fall back, no one is allowed within a hundred ters, got it?"

The squad leader of the ard police looked at Luo Zheng skeptically, not imdiately following the order. Luo Zheng snapped angrily, "Do you want the brothers under your command to die because of your stupidity?"

"Without an order, I cannot retreat, even if it ans death," the squad leader explained unflinchingly.

"Hm?" Luo Zheng glanced at him with newfound respect. At this mont, a commotion erupted from behind, and Luo Zheng frowned, looking back to see a middle-aged man in military uniform with a lieutenant general rank striding over, followed by a few guards. The Party Secretary and the police chief went up to greet him.

The lieutenant general ignored the Party Secretary and the chief, instead striding up to Luo Zheng, appraising him up and down, nodding in satisfaction, "Very good, you have a sharp edge to you. I know your identity. You have command here, including over . Anyone who disobeys, I'll help you deal with them. I have only one requirent: eliminate the bastard inside and prevent any adverse situations. Young man, how will you do it?"

At this mont, the Party Secretary and the chief ran up, just in ti to hear this, their expressions changing slightly. They exchanged a concealed glance, realizing that the young man's identity was extraordinary and wanting to smooth over the earlier friction. But facing the lieutenant general, they didn't know how to appropriately express it.

"Have everyone retreat a hundred ters or more, and block all signals within a two-kiloter radius to prevent any concealed remote triggering of bombs," Luo Zheng took a deep breath, forcing himself to remain calm, and said.

"No problem, we'll do that imdiately," the lieutenant general agreed wholeheartedly, watching Luo Zheng head inside, and called out puzzled, "You're going in alone? Without any weapons?"

"Why add another life to those sent to die? As for weapons, I already asked for one, but it wasn't given," Luo Zheng replied.

"I'll give you mine," the lieutenant general glanced at the police chief, then drew his own sidearm.

Luo Zheng looked at the lieutenant general's pistol, surprisingly a Desert Eagle. This gun had considerable recoil and trendous destructive power, unsuitable for the average person. Luo Zheng didn't expect the aging lieutenant general to use such a weapon, but he asked no more, shaking his head with a smile, "No, thank you for your kindness." With that, he turned and walked inside, discreetly pulling several nails from his belt.

On the second floor of the main hall, the stairs bore blood and bullet casings, but no bodies were visible, likely removed. Luo Zheng followed the stairs to the second floor, which was spacious, filled with various fitness equipnt and training gear. It was deserted except for a middle-aged man sitting calmly on a sofa, drinking alone.

Luo Zheng approached, slightly closing his eyes to focus on the man. The middle-aged man noticed Luo Zheng, gesturing for him to sit down and talk, showing no sign of haste. Luo Zheng sat down with curiosity, forcing himself to stay calm, studying the man. Indeed, there was an electronic watch-like device on his left wrist, with a flashing red dot, presumably the pulse detonator.

"You're more spirited than in the photos," the middle-aged man said calmly. "Let introduce myself: Shijing Chun, disciple of the Shijing family. My brother Shijing Teng is still in your hands, alive or dead, please let know, I ask of you." He stood and bowed respectfully to Luo Zheng, exhibiting proper etiquette with no hint of the insanity that would blow up the whole building.

Watching the man, Luo Zheng grew even more cautious. The calr a person is when performing insane acts, the more terrifying they beco.
