Now reading: Chapter 124: Golett's Coordination from Struggling to Survive in the Pokemon World, a Action novel by Romeloff.

Golett, Dusknoir, and Banette were considered among the Ghost-type Pokémon that excelled in physical attacks. Unlike Pokémon with "physical" bodies, whose "Contact" attacks moves could increase in power simply by training muscle strength.

Ghost-type Pokémon each had different physical forms, but if they wanted to unleash strong power to carry out effective Contact moves, they mainly relied on concentrated bursts of energy.

Golett was considered outstanding in physical attacks among Ghost-type Pokémon. If trained successfully, it would not be an exaggeration to call it the strongest -among Ghost-.

Golett's body itself was made of rock and clay, and all of it was composed of special materials that were exceptionally tough. When endowed with energy to execute Contact moves, it could absolutely unleash trendous power. It was equivalent to combining the hardness of rock with the energy of its own body¹1.

The main task now was to mobilize the energy within Golett's body. After all, it had been sealed for hundreds of years, and Antel had never given it systematic training.

Golett had its advantages, but its disadvantages were also obvious, especially since this Golett contained the power of Dusknoir within its body.

Its hard body allowing it to unleash powerful Contact moves1² was Golett's advantage. However, its clumsy body was its disadvantage. A clumsy body ant it could not properly mobilize the energy within its body to coordinate perfectly with its physical form.

Compared to ordinary Ghost-type Pokémon with agile bodies, Golett was truly extrely difficult to train. It seed that after returning to Ecruteak Gym, he would need to properly consult Matsuba…

If Golett evolved into Golurk, its usefulness would increase trendously, and its battles would beco far more flexible. Golurk could retract its arms and legs into its body, creating openings at its wrists and waist from where it can blast off Ghost-type energy within its body to condense special fuel and burn it, allowing it to fly at Mach speeds, like a rocket. Its flight speed could even rival the speed of sound!

With the ability to fly, Golurk could launch Contact attacks moves at supersonic impact force. The increase in power would not be insignificant, and its combat would beco more diversified. Most importantly, after evolving, being able to fly would perfectly make up for his weakness in escaping through the air.

However, it was extrely difficult for Golett to evolve. A large accumulation of experience and level improvent went without saying. Golurk's height and weight were more than three tis that of Golett. Because Golett was a man-made Pokémon, without sufficient compatible materials that matched its body composition, evolution would be impossible.

Now that he had finally… "encountered" such a Golett with enormous potential for developnt, he naturally had to train it properly.

"Ditto, Transform into Rapidash."

After Tetsuya spoke, Ditto had already transford into Rapidash.

"Golett, use Drain Punch on Ditto. Ditto, pay attention to dodging."

Drain Punch was a Fighting-type physical move. It could absorb the opponent's energy/stamina while attacking. The stamina absorbed was proportional to the damage dealt to the opponent. It was considered a very practical Fighting-type move. Such moves were often used by Fighting-type Pokémon -due to STAB- to deal with Normal-type Pokémon with abundant vitality/stamina such as Snorlax and Blissey.

Golett swung its right fist and smashed toward Ditto. Ditto flicked its head and easily avoided it. Golett did not give up and imdiately threw its left fist, which was once again easily dodged by Ditto.

Golett seed sowhat discouraged…

"Tehaha! Do not be discouraged! Continue attacking. Golett, what you need right now is not to hit Ditto, but to mobilize the energy of your entire body through continuous use of moves."

Encouraged by Tetsuya, Golett alternated its fists, swinging them one after another. Ditto dodged while retreating. Golett's punching speed beca faster and faster, but as Ditto retreated slightly faster, Golett's footwork could not keep up. It stumbled and fell to the ground.

As expected!

Tetsuya shook his head. Golett's body coordination was too poor. After all, it had a man-made body and could not compare to a natural one. When the speed of its punches increased, its feet could not keep up.

However, Golett's will was still comndable. It did not give up and struggled to climb back up. One had to know that such a simple action required great effort for Golett.

"Golett, this ti use Ice Punch. Take it slowly. Do not rush. Pay attention to the coordination of your entire body."

Tetsuya reminded it. Cold air condensed on Golett's fist as it swung again. This ti, because it paid attention to coordination of its feet and body, the speed of its punch was sowhat slower than before, making it even more impossible to hit Ditto.

However, this ti Golett did not beco impatient, because it felt the energy throughout its body surging and pouring into every corner of its body. Although it could not hit Ditto, such punches made Golett feel comfortable, and instead it punched with even more enthusiasm.

Imdiately afterward, it also used Fire Punch and Thunder Punch.

For a Golett with the Iron Fist Ability, the power of punching moves would receive a significant boost. Golett itself also knew many punching moves.

At first, he had thought that Antel had paid a high price to learn the "elental punches". Most likely, Golett's spirtit ca from Dusknoir, and Dusknoir itself knew these three moves, so this Golett naturally also knew them.

Training Golett was even more difficult than training Haunter. Haunter currently only needed to connect and chain three different types of moves, and it also had psychic power assistance. Its current combat ability was already not to be underestimated.

As for Golett, it had six types of punching moves alone: the Fighting-type • Drain Punch, the Ice-type • Ice Punch, the Fire-type • Fire Punch, the Electric-type • Thunder Punch, the Ghost-type • Shadow Punch, and the Normal-type • ga Punch.

These punching moves determined Golett's wide coverage. With the Iron Fist Ability, it could also unleash considerable power. However, because it involved too many types, even dominating all of them was already difficult, not to ntion chaining them smoothly…

There was still a long way to go before Golett could formally enter battle.

For now, the only thing to do was to train Golett's body coordination to its best condition, and then gradually mobilize and stimulate the energy within its body.

Only after its current moves were practiced to proficiency and practicality could he seek out so weaker Pokémon to battle and raise its level.

The Dusknoir "spirit" also knew Gravity, and using this move did not require body movent. Golett could use it quite skillfully. It mainly controlled air pressure to oppress the opponent. Pokémon with Levitate Ability and Flying-type Pokémon would be pressed to the ground, so Ground-type moves would be effective against these Pokémon, and moves requiring flight were also unusable.
