Ethan glanced at his phone, where the word "Grandpa" was blinking.
At that mont, with a click, the doors of the operating room opened, and the doctor ca out.
Ethan ignored the call and hurried forward, "How’s the surgery?"
Miles and Willow gathered around, the doctor took off his mask, "The surgery was very successful, the patient has been saved!"
That’s great!
Willow’s tense expression quickly relaxed, Celeste was saved, out of danger.
Just then, the nurse wheeled Celeste out, Ethan quickly ran over, Celeste lay quietly, her face drained of blood, devoid of life.
"When will my sister wake up?" Miles asked hoarsely.
"Barring any surprises, she should wake up in 24 hours. This ti the patient lost too much blood from wrist slashing, she must be mindful of recuperation in the future and watch out for her psychological health," the doctor advised.
Miles nodded, "I understand."
The doctor looked at Willow, "Miss Crawford, our task is complete, we can report back to Prof. Sumr. We have another dical research project on hand, so we must leave now, but we’ll be around here recently, call us anyti if there are any issues."
"Alright, thank you."
The expert doctors left the place.
Celeste was taken into the VIP intensive care ward, Ethan stayed by her side, reaching out to touch Celeste’s pale, cold little face.
Then, Miles’ cold voice sounded in his ear, "Don’t touch my sister!"
Ethan looked up at Miles.
Miles said, "My sister doesn’t like you touching her!"
This made Ethan frown slightly, and the atmosphere in the VIP ward grew tense again.
"Young Master." At this mont, his subordinate hurried in, whispering a few words into Ethan’s ear.
Ethan’s expression remained unchanged, but he glanced at the comatose Celeste and left.
Ethan left.
Miles stood at the bedside, reaching out to hold Celeste’s hand.
Outside, a few young nurses were chatting,
"Did you see that? That was Prof. Sumr’s elite team, we usually only see them on TV. I can’t believe they arrived at our little hospital."
"It seems they ca for that girl nad... Willow, who do you think that girl really is?"
"I don’t know, but surely she has a high status, worlds apart from us."
"One day, that girl will return to her domain, this is just a temporary journey for her."
Miles lowered his handso eyelids, aware when Willow called for help that her world was different from his.
This is only her temporary journey, maybe she would soon leave.
Miles realized he had beco greedy, knowing she would leave eventually but discovering he couldn’t let go of her warmth and beauty.
Placing his sister’s hand under the blanket, Miles exited the ward to find Willow.
From a distance, he saw Willow with a little girl, who was Vivi.
Vivi had already arrived, rushing into Willow’s arms, emotionally exclaiming, "Willow, where were you all night? I couldn’t reach you by phone. If you do this again, I’ll tell your mom that you stayed out all night, hmph, I won’t cover for you anymore."
Willow quickly hugged Vivi, "Vivi, I had so matters, didn’t I call you? You’re the best, please don’t snitch on to my mom."
Vivi was still unhappy, "Willow, confess, leniency for confession, severity for resistance. Tell , who were you with all night, so boy?"
"I..."
"The last ti, you sold your bracelet, spent six figures to buy Coco’s design book, I knew sothing was off. Willow, did you... keep a boyfriend?" Vivi asked.
Boyfriend?
This term applied to Miles, Willow couldn’t even imagine.
Just then, Vivi looked up and saw Miles in the distance, her eyes widening imdiately, "Wil... Willow, look, it’s... it’s..."
Willow turned to see Miles coming over.
Oh no, Vivi discovered.
Moreover, did he hear their conversation?
Miles walked straight over, Vivi was sowhat afraid of him, hiding behind Willow imdiately.
But she rembered it shouldn’t be like this, she should protect Willow, so Vivi bravely popped out, standing in front of Willow, puffing her little chest out, "What... what do you want, don’t bully my Willow!"
Vivi tried her best to overco her stuttering due to nervousness to make herself more imposing, even... though her legs were already shaking.
Miles glanced at Vivi then looked at Willow’s small face, speaking up, "I’ll stay here with my sister, you should go back, there’s school to attend."
Willow nodded, "Alright, I’m leaving then."
Willow took Vivi’s little hand and walked away.
Vivi was stunned, looking at Willow and then at Miles, thinking... there must be sothing hidden here.
Miles stood in place watching Willow leave, when suddenly she stopped ahead, turning to look at him.
"What’s the matter?"
Willow blinked, softly and sweetly, "When your sister wakes up, you have to co to school too."
Turns out, she was reminding him to attend school.
Miles’ fingers clenched in his pockets, his heart lting at her sight full of hope, nodding, "Okay."
Willow left with Vivi.
Miles watched them disappear from his sight, only he knew how much effort it took to restrain himself, to let her go.
He increasingly wanted to keep her by his side, even if it ant destroying the entire world.
After standing for a long ti, Miles left the hospital, heading sowhere to retrieve Willow’s bracelet.
She had said the Coco design book wasn’t valuable; he hadn’t thought much of it, even adding a hundred dollars. Now he realized how naive that was.
Miles exited the hospital, got into a taxi, while a black luxury car quietly parked by the roadside, inside were wise yet astute eyes focused on him—Ethan’s grandpa.
Grandpa looked at Miles, asked the person beside him, "Is it him?"
Ethan sat next to Grandpa, with a cigarette between his lips, frowning and impatiently saying, "If you have sothing to say, say it quickly, I have things to do."
Grandpa was very dissatisfied with his attitude, "Things to do, what things, visiting that Celeste again, only to get stabbed by her brother?"
