Him!
Willow Crawford quickly grabbed his hand, glaring at him angrily, "Miles Linden, don’t you dare!"
Miles’ fingers paused; indeed, he didn’t dare, although the thought had crossed his mind.
The atmosphere stalled for a few seconds, and Miles slowly released her before getting out of bed.
Willow sat up, watching as Miles walked to the window. He slipped one hand into his pocket, pulled out a pack of cigarettes, and lit one with his lighter, silently starting to puff away.
This was the first ti Willow saw Miles smoking. The youth stood silently by the window, wearing a black shirt and pants. With smoke swirling around him, he exuded a mysterious and profound aura amidst the vague scent of mountain rain, along with a faint trace of seductive decadence.
Willow went over to snatch the cigarette from his hand, "Miles, you can’t smoke now!"
Miles raised his arm, preventing her from grabbing it. Not only that, but he also bent down and exhaled a mouthful of smoke onto her little face.
Utterly reprehensible.
Willow was directly choked, coughing, "Miles, you’re really too much!"
She coughed until her fair eyes turned red, looking delicate and charming, but this ti Miles didn’t speak to comfort her. He gazed deeply at her, "Willow, I drink, smoke, fight, and have a temper that fluctuates. I’ve never been an easy person to deal with, so if this is too much, I can be even more extre, beyond your imagination. So, recognize ; this is who I am."
After speaking, Miles turned on his heel to leave.
He’s gone?
He just walked away like that?
"Miles, weren’t you here to get gifts? Are you leaving them behind?" Willow asked.
Up ahead, Miles’ steps faltered slightly. He didn’t turn around, "Hmm, I don’t want them."
His elegant figure quickly disappeared from sight.
Soon, Vivi Xavier’s voice sounded from outside, "Brother-in-law, are you leaving?"
The door closed.
Vivi dashed in, full of curiosity and gossip, "Sister Willow, why did brother-in-law leave so soon? Did he misunderstand your relationship with Senior Quinn? I just noticed his expression was awful!"
Willow knew he looked upset, and he was acting oddly, though she couldn’t pinpoint exactly what felt strange.
"Sister Willow, it’s okay. When we go to school tomorrow, I’ll explain everything to brother-in-law personally."
Tomorrow...
Tomorrow is the digital programming competition.
Miles hadn’t verbally agreed to participate, and now things are in such a state, leaving Willow’s thoughts in turmoil.
...
Quinn Young felt weak in the knees when he brought up the topic, thinking of Miles’ aggressive deanor; it felt like escaping a near disaster.
Quinn prepared to get into the car, but suddenly so n in black appeared, quickly approaching him.
"Who are you guys?" Quinn imdiately sensed trouble.
The leader of the n in black looked at Quinn, "You have offended soone you shouldn’t have; do you understand?"
Offended soone not to be offended, who could it be?
In Quinn’s mind, Miles’ aggressive and handso face erged at once.
Is it him?
"Don’t ss with , if you dare touch , I’ll report you... ah!"
Quinn’s vision went dark as a man in black pulled a snakeskin sack over his head.
"Let go! Let go!"
While struggling, Quinn felt himself lifted, slled a damp and dark scent along the jarring path, and then the n in black roughly threw him into a small alley, followed by a storm of punches and kicks.
"Ah! Help, help!" Quinn’s screams echoed.
Just then, a long black business limousine slowly drove by the curb. The rear window slid down, revealing Miles’ handso face.
The leader of the n in black respectfully stood by the car door, reporting, "Young master, we’ve already taught him a harsh lesson."
Miles slightly lifted his eyelids to glance into the alley, where Quinn’s screams had weakened.
Miles withdrew his gaze, coughing lightly.
"Young master, your arm is bleeding again!"
Earlier, Miles was injured in a car accident. He only had a private doctor perform simple first aid before rushing to find Willow, and now his arm was bleeding again, staining a large area of his black shirt with fresh blood.
"Young master, we ought to go for a full check-up at the hospital," advised the worried man in black.
Miles’ complexion was sowhat pale, and he shook his head silently, "No need, I understand my body; I’m fine."
"Young master..." The man in black still wanted to persuade him.
But at that mont, Miles suddenly spoke, "Pack up, tomorrow morning we’re leaving here."
What?
The man in black hesitated, not understanding Miles’ intentions, "Young master, where are we leaving for?"
Miles, "Going ho."
"But young master, your mission isn’t completed yet, the situation with Willow..."
Before the man in black finished speaking, a graceful ringtone sounded, Miles received a phone call.
Miles pressed a button to answer, and an elderly voice quickly ca through on the other end, "Miles, what do you an, have you forgotten the task of your trip?"
Miles’ brows showed no emotion, the soft light cast a shadow on his side profile, "I haven’t forgotten; Willow is my task for this trip, but this task I cannot complete, I am giving up on Willow."
"Miles, why are you giving up on Willow?"
"Because... she doesn’t like , and not being able to win her heart makes it hard for to control her. Continuing to pester her is just a waste of ti; I don’t want to waste more ti on her."
"But..."
"There are many ways to seek revenge, going through Willow is undoubtedly the most foolish one. I don’t wish to target won," Miles said as he slouched back into the seat, curling his lips slightly, an eagle-like sharpness flashing in his deep eyes, "For , without Willow, my steps towards revenge will only quicken."
The other end was silent for a few seconds, "Miles, you’ve really decided, you’re leaving tomorrow."
"Yes."
"What about Willow, the little princess..."
"She and I are worlds apart; she’ll quickly forget . When we et again, she’ll be the Princess of Alani or the First Queen, while I will be the rfolk Kingdom’s young master. I’ve never been more aware of my responsibilities and mission than now. When we et again, she’ll understand who I truly am, and I won’t show any rcy to her."
Miles’ voice was calm; tonight, Quinn’s appearance made him completely give up on Willow.
He and Willow belong to different worlds; he was born to balance gains and losses, choose rationally, without error. He deeply understood that he invested too much in Willow, and if he didn’t disengage now, he’d eventually be controlled by her.
Once she knows who he is, she will surely detest him.
And he certainly won’t show her any rcy.
Her Alani, her fiancé, her closest kin... he won’t spare any of them.
