A lot of high society ladies gathered around Bella Sterling, showering her with envy and flattery. With her pretty little face, Bella was beaming with happiness and pride.
Just then, Bella saw Serena. She quickly moved forward, "Serena, you’re here? I was so worried you wouldn’t co and witness my happiest mont firsthand."
The high society ladies also approached,
Vanessa, you are too kind. Serena used to be Seth Sullivan’s fiancée. Aren’t you afraid she might get jealous and cause a scene?
Serena has already married that ghostly husband from Orchid Court. Who knows how he tortures her? She might end up a widow any day now. Truly, fate is unjust. A country bumpkin can never compare to a real daughter of a prestigious family. Our Vanessa is already Mrs. Sullivan.
It was wise of Seth to abandon that bumpkin long ago. Seth and our Vanessa are truly a golden couple.
Listening to this performance, Bella playfully glared at them, "Don’t say such things about Serena. Actually, Serena is quite pitiful."
Serena simply watched them acting, not angry but rather amused. Aligning with the powerful is a villain’s instinct. Bella had beco the fiancée of Seth Sullivan, one of the four great families, and this grand wedding showed Seth’s love for her, giving her reasons to be proud.
Bringing her to the engagent party was Bella’s way of making her uncomfortable.
At this mont, Lillian Sterling also walked over. Recently, she had been troubled by her marital issues with Gregory. However, her daughter’s engagent to Seth Sullivan gave her imnse glory, so today she was radiant, wearing a tailored cheongsam accented by a sea-blue fur cape, exuding elegance and charm.
"Serena, you’re here. Today, all of Bayside’s socialites are attending Bella’s engagent. Don’t you want to integrate and get to know everyone? Bella, introduce Serena to more people, lest soone secretly buys counterfeit clothes and then acts pitiful, claiming we don’t include her."
Lillian, with her deep sches, spoke sharply, making a point of Serena’s words from Bella’s birthday party.
Tis have changed; Bella was once just the Sterling family’s daughter, but now she’s Seth Sullivan’s fiancée. Lillian uses the Sullivan family’s prestige to step on Serena.

Serena found herself isolated. Everyone at the engagent party was ill-disposed toward her.

At that mont, Seth Sullivan arrived.
Serena lifted her gaze towards Seth.
Seth was dressed in a black suit, a white shirt, and a tie. Already a charming and gentle man, he looked even more striking today.
Bella quickly went over to cling to Seth’s muscular arm, asserting her claim. In a sweet voice, she said, "Brother Seth, Serena is here. She’s here to wish us happiness."
Seth had already noticed the commotion and naturally caught everyone’s malice towards Serena. He looked at Serena, curling his thin lips, "Where’s the man you like? Why isn’t he here to protect you?"
Serena’s bright eyes t Seth’s, and under the watchful eyes of others, she spoke, "You’re right. I’ve seen his true colors. He’s just a jerk. Now I even miss your kindness, Seth. Why don’t you call off the engagent with Bella today, alright?"
As soon as she said that, the entire crowd gasped.
Everyone looked at Serena in shock. What was she doing, stealing...the groom?
Bella’s expression changed drastically, quickly scolding, "Serena, what are you doing? This is my engagent to Brother Seth, don’t ruin it!"
Seth’s pupils contracted, entirely unprepared for Serena’s words. Ten years had passed; she used to be so clean and stubborn, never yielding to him.
Seth took a step forward.
Bella imdiately clung to Seth’s sleeve, preventing him from moving, "Brother Seth, don’t fall for Serena’s trap. She’s doing this on purpose to seduce you!"
Seth drew his sleeve back from Bella’s hand, then walked up to Serena, staring at her, "Is what you said true?"
Everyone exchanged looks. The situation was clear now; if Serena only nodded, the prospective groom would run off with her.
Bella dug her nails into her palm, her eyes starting to redden.
Serena looked at Seth and suddenly laughed, "Seth, I was just joking with you. Don’t take it seriously."
"..."
The crowd erupted in murmurs. Serena’s joke was too extre!
Seth’s gaze instantly turned icy. She was toying with him!
With a smile, Serena’s gaze fell on Bella’s teary eyes, "What’s going on? I only made a joke at the engagent party, what’s with everyone’s expressions, Bella? Why do you look like you’re about to cry?"
Saying this, Serena lifted her hand and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, "Don’t worry, I’m not a garbage collector. What’s left from my gas, you can keep."

The crowd was dumbstruck, watching Serena command an intimidating aura, wondering if she had gone mad, daring to speak like this!
"You!" Bella was close to being driven mad with anger.
The atmosphere on-site had turned awkward and oppressive when Gregory quickly stepped in, "Alright, the auspicious hour has arrived, the engagent ceremony officially begins. Seth, didn’t you prepare a romantic proposal for Bella?"
The crowd, eager, clapped along, proposal, proposal, proposal!
Seth withdrew his icy gaze, and under the collective gaze of everyone, he took a bouquet and slowly knelt on one knee in front of Bella.
The earlier awkward and bizarre scene was finally concealed. Gregory glared angrily at Serena, warning her in a low voice, "Serena, today’s engagent between Bella and Seth can’t have any mishaps. You better behave, or else..."
"Or else what, send back to the countryside? Dad, you seem to have forgotten, you’ve already sold off to Orchid Court for a marriage blessing."
Gregory froze, "You!"
Bella held jealousy and hatred in her heart, but under Lillian’s reminder, she quickly collected herself.
Now, with Seth kneeling before her, she remained the protagonist of this grand engagent, determined to beco Mrs. Sullivan no matter what.
Once married into the Sullivan family, she naturally would have her ways of dealing with Serena Sterling!
