Serena didn’t look up, searching intently, "I’m looking for my phone. I haven’t used it since I ca here. I rember I put it here, but it’s gone."
"Is it this one?"
Serena looked up, and there in Seth’s palm was her phone.
"Thank you. I want to make a call." Serena took the phone and sat on the woolen carpet by the bed, dialing a number.
Seth didn’t leave, but quietly watched her small, curled-up figure, one hand hugging her knee, head resting on it, the other hand holding the phone to her ear.
He heard her voice, speaking to the person on the other end, sounding very gentle,
