The mont the Quill entered Runthral’s body, Torq sent the needle into his head without hesitation. The only reason he ca out of hiding in the first place was due to detecting the Millinger’s approach.
His Narlakk Pet had spread its pollen across the place, especially within the Battleships to scout for possible intruders. And the mont the Millinger moved in Runthral’s direction, it alerted him and he rushed out imdiately.
One, he wanted to ensure Raurau would survive, for he knew the other party was extrely strong and could help him imnsely in the future. Two, he intended to kill Runthral, for the mont Runthral falls under the enemy’s control, he’ll serve as a gateway to gaining control over all the Empyrean Snappers.
That is when the enemy truly makes their move, for using the Empyrean Snappers, they could move undetected across Sumatra and strike their targets with massive armies. This was the primary cause behind the accaleration of Sumatra’s defeat in the original tiline.
Therefore, Torq was ready to react for the situation. His needle made contact with Runthral’s forehead, about to erase him. However, an external force pulled Runthral behind, at speeds greater than what Torq could use to move his needle.
"Why?" Torq shouted at Raurau, the culprit that had saved Runthral, "I need to kill him before his strength fully blooms. He’s compromised!"
"Not really," Raurau seed to have cald down in that mont as he calmly eyed the bound figure of Runthral and addressed Torq, "See?"
"He cannot break free from my control."
’Damn!’ Was all Torq could think, for with the Quill’s aid, Runthral’s strength already reached the peak of the Gold Grade. He was now as powerful as a mature Empyrean Snapper. However, despite that, despite his face convulsing from exerting all his strength, he was unable to budge from the spot.
A new head jutted out of Raurau’s Spirit Snapper, which was clutching upon Runthral’s body. And Raurau was using Subtle Terrain Domination to perfectly counter Runthral’s activation of the sa, keeping the latter still like a statue.
"I willl break free." Runthral, influenced by the Quill, expressed his intent.
"Stay still for a minute." Saying so, a layer of earth covered the head of the Spirit Snapper, preventing the compromised Runthral from witnessing what Raurau was about to do next.
"Boiboi," Raurau uttered and walked before Torq to ask, "It seems you know what that thing is."
"Yes," Torq nodded.
"Tell more about it." Raurau asked and was offered an Information Slip by the other party, surprising him, ’This easily? He seems pretty different from when I last saw him.’
"Hmm..." He consud the Information Slip and absorbed the knowledge within it, "I think the situation at hand makes better sense now."
He banged his temples a couple tis until his disposition seed to change drastically. And then, he leaned forward a little and focused on Torq’s chest, "My son, who do you think is better? You? Or your older brother?"
"If Runthral suffers so more, he’ll beco significantly powerful." Torq said.
"Who is better?" Raurau asked again.
", of course." Torq huffed.
"You’re not wrong." Raurau nodded while being a tad unwilling to accept the fact, "But I am confident in elevating Runthral’s strength to be on par with Wally or even eclipse him."
He stared into Torq’s eyes and asked, "What about you?"
"Can you surpass Wally?"
"I will try to do that," Torq said, focusing all his attention on the conversation at the mont, stopping his distracting thoughts. He stared at Raurau’s eyes, and sohow, felt this was a mont to display his value.
Otherwise, his life was about to end here, right this instant.
Ivory mist gathered upon his palm as he expressed his plan, "This is the Inertial Waves Spirit Pool, which I created using a storage lantern."
He created an Information Slip containing details about its abilities and gave it to Raurau, "These are my thoughts about it. I’m confident in improving it further in the future, since I only worked on it for less than a day."
"Inertial Waves?" Raurau’s eyes lit up as he inspected the ivory mist hovering above Torq’s palms. He sucked it casually and consud the substance, quickly analysing the Spirit Pool’s properties using his capabilities, "It has plenty of flaws."
"As long as you correct it, there’s a good chance it’ll reach the Gold Grade." He concluded.
"Yes, that’s the plan." Torq nodded, "I was in a hurry to create it and only focused on its creation than its quality."
"This is my capability, Father." Torq claid, "I will keep trying to forge my way to the peak."
Hah!
Raurau sighed as he eyed the sky and muttered in disappointnt, "I truly, truly wanted to hope, until the end, that my way was better."
"Runthral hasn’t even broken free of his mould, while you..." He sighed at Torq, "When I saw you at the academy, you were just like Runthral, stuck in a mould."
"But now, you’ve indeed seen past the mould." He sighed, ’Ti and again, it has been proven the Bhirully’s path is significantly better.’
"Let’s see..." He uttered, as suddenly, his fist was before Torq’s heart. The index and middle finger extended outward as Raurau plunged it in, "This is what you’ve hypothesised, Eureur."
Swoosh!
Troq felt his head spin, unable to even react as Raurau’s two fingers had stabbed into his heart. He didn’t even feel any pain, and all he could see was the individual who had appeared behind him.
It was a bald woman who seed shocked to have appeared suddenly, unable to grasp what was happening.
’Indeed, it works.’ Raurau thought and took out a sealed vial from his sleeve. The water was extrely dense, packed to the brim with information. He transford it into vapour and seeped it through the Eureur Pet.
The Eureur Pet had been created to only retain minimal information of the original. Contained in Raurau’s posssession was the content necessary to fill in the gaps. And with its addition, Eureur Pet was no different from the original.
She looked around and expressed disappointnt upon seeing Runthral caged within Rarau’s Spirit Snapper, "I hoped it was him."
"He’s too passive, unfortunately." Raurau shook his head and pointed at Torq, "He, on the other hand, has expressed enough initiative recently."
"Still, it’s too soon to judge." Eureur frowned, "Didn’t we plan to wait until they at least reached twenty years in age before making a decision?"
"Look outside," Raurau condensed mist to form lenses that behaved like a periscope with a telescope functon attached in it, displaying in a large mirror the events happening on the Dralh Sea, "Our side is losing badly."
"And Runthral got compromised."
"I see," Eureur thought, "It is what it is then."
"Train them well." Raurau smiled, crouched before a stunned figure of Torq, and hugged the latter, "There are things your mother knows better than . So, seek her guidance whenever you feel lost."
"As a lacking father, the consequences of my past made you an outcast of the Cooter Clan, and Runthral, a lacking Deity." Slowly, he gently rubbed Torq on the back as his figure began to shine, "Here’s my first and last gift as your old man. And rember,"
His presence drastically spiked, revealing his actual strength, which was a Gold Grade existence with a 10-Life Stage cultivation, having reached the peak of his cultivation journey. "My honoured son,"
His lips curled to form a gentle smile while his eyes closed by a trace as Raurau expressed his utmost kidness, "You’re never alone in this journey."
And then, raining down upon him from the far, farther, farthest reaches of the sky, was a destructive golden bolt, seeking to erase his existence.
