Chapter 1213: Returning to the Group
“Neyeid!” Nathan waved his hand. “It’s been a while.”
“Nice to see you again. Looks like you had so trouble before.”
“It has been handled for the ti being, so you don’t have to worry about it now.” Nathan turned to the others. “Revon, Christopher. Where is Sonia?”
“She is onto sothing. We don’t know what it is yet, but she should be back soon.” Neyeid grabbed Nathan’s shoulder and just brought him inside. “Anyway, let’s co inside first.”
Neyeid had rented a building for the operation. It wasn’t big, but it was enough for all the paperwork. The most important thing was the workshop, which was located behind this building.
Revon asked, “How is it going in the dynasty? Is it nasty or sothing? You have made the emperor, right?”
“The emperor is an intelligent man to the point where he reeks of secrets. He is a man who is able to see through everything, so I don’t really want him to be the enemy’s spy.”
“He’s that good?” Revon was impressed to find soone that even Nathan held in such high regard.
“Yes.” Nathan nodded. “Has everything been handled, Neyeid?”
“Definitely. As I reported previously, everything has been prepared. It’s better to see it yourself. I have gathered the craftsn. They’re waiting for you in the workshop.”
“Alright.” It took only a few seconds before they reached the door leading to the workshop. The mont Neyeid opened the door, the space expanded.
The left side was the storage of the workshop, while the rest of the space was an open workshop for every craftsman Neyeid had gathered.
A muscular man walked toward them. “Boss. What are we doing here?”
“We are waiting for him.” Neyeid pointed at Nathan before introducing the man. “This is the craftsman you’re looking for. I can vouch for his skill.”
Nathan extended his hand. “Nathan.”
“It will be an honor to work with you. My na is Gran.”
“Although I wish for you to work on the device, there is a project I want you to complete first. It is of the utmost importance. I will talk to you about the details later.”
“Sure.”
“Then, can we gather the people here first? I will do the briefing.”
Gran nodded and turned around, waving his hand to everyone. They started to gather around Nathan as Nathan took out a blueprint and placed it on the board. “This is the blueprint for the cloud-repelling device.
“You are now responsible for making this device. It is a device that can solve the food problem of this world. If you are able to succeed, you will beco one of the thirty craftsn in the empire that helped solve the world’s food problem.
“As you can see, the design is simple.” Nathan stopped at that part and glanced at Gran.
Gran acknowledged it. “Yes. It is indeed simple. I don’t think anyone here has a problem making it.”
“Alright. In that case, I want you to split into three teams.” Nathan raised three fingers. “The first team will be making the casing of the device. The second team will handle the launching chanism. Last but not least, the third team will handle the charging chanism.
“I have written down the materials and all the details regarding the device.”
Gran raised his eyebrows. “That’s indeed an interesting thod.”
“What’s interesting?” Nathan tilted his head in confusion.
“I’m talking about the separation. Normally, craftsn will be doing everything. In other words, one craftsman will make the casing first, then the launching chanism, and then the charging chanism in that order according to the blueprint.
“As a result, the progress is quite slow because each process requires a certain tool and a certain place. However, these devices can be assembled, which ans producing them in different areas shouldn’t be a problem.
“And because they don’t need to bring new tools, it will be much faster, especially since one person’s mastery in making that part progresses,” explained Gran.
“…” Nathan blinked a few tis. He had thought it was reasonable, but he rembered the craftsn on the marquis’ territory had had a similar reaction, which showed how far behind they were in craftsmanship.”
Nathan shrugged. “In any case, we don’t have a lot of ti. I’m sure you understand this, right? The sooner we get this done, the faster people can eat.”
“To be honest, I don’t really want to do it. After all, those people have been underestimating us craftsn. But if that can allow to put food on my table, I will be fine with it.”
“I still have a family at ho. I want them to eat until they’re full, which is impossible ever since the volcanic eruption.”
Nathan nodded. “Don’t worry. I can assure you that you will be fairly compensated.”
“This is the agreent.” Neyeid handed over the contract. “You are to keep this project a secret. Regarding your wage, it will be 70,000 per day.”
“!!!” All the blacksmiths, including Gran, couldn’t help but widen their eyes in shock.
“We usually only receive about 300,000 per month, and you are saying we can earn that amount in just over four days?”
Neyeid nodded. “There is nothing wrong with the agreent. However, we expect you to work fast. There will be a bonus if you are able to finish it faster than the expected date.
“I will reveal the details of the agreent tomorrow, so you should make a few pilot devices today.
“The materials are ready. More will co within several days. Is there any question?”
No one raised an objection. They would be fools if they didn’t take this job.
“Good.” Neyeid turned to Gran. “You divide the group first. Once you are done, co to the office to discuss another matter. I will talk to him first.”
“Got it, boss.” Gran nodded. He hurriedly turned around and divided the teams.
anwhile, Nathan and Neyeid returned to the office. Before talking about the materials and the deals with the rchants and the nobles, Nathan had one thing he was curious about.
“You ntioned Sonia is onto sothing earlier. What is she looking for?”
“There are two things.” Neyeid raised two fingers as he lowered his voice. “First, there’s a sighting of the mbers of the Death Society in the empire. The other is a rumor about the black cell.”
“!!!”
