Chapter 1224: Anubis’s Request

Fenrir was stupefied. Now that he thought about it, he hadn’t summoned a new familiar for a while.

As the amount of ena he wanted to use to summon a familiar beca higher, the frequency of the summoning decreased drastically.

Nathan had summoned Qilin approximately half a year ago. He used the first four months to train with Qilin before fighting the Divine Hand before using another month for the travel here and another month to set up the foundation of his plan on this continent.

Normally, Nathan would have summoned a new familiar in three to four months, but because of the situation, he didn’t.

Hence, Mae’s suggestion was on point. The source of Nathan’s strength had been the divine beasts.

It was what made him unique. Of course, Nathan’s individual strength was sothing to be reckoned with.

Even Fenrir was scared of his tactical ability.

However, to fight the stronger opponent, he needed more divine beasts. Of course, Nathan should beco a world class summoner if possible.

One year might be too short, but he should be able to reach sowhere close to that level.

Summoning a new familiar would make it harder for Nathan to reach that level.

Still, Mae suggested this because of Nathan’s financial power.

That was right. Neyeid could buy a lot of cores by using his network. It might take so ti, but it should be possible.

With Neyeid’s help, the ti required to reach that level would decrease significantly.

This suggestion was sothing Nathan couldn’t dismiss easily.

After all, the new familiar might be able to solve his current problem. It would be better if that divine beast could shapeshift into a humanoid creature like Mae.

This way, there would be more familiars who could help him in battle. Mae’s suggestion was basically her own way of showing how worried she was, especially after seeing the previous battle.

On the other hand, Nathan had to consider the possibility of becoming an arcane level summoner.

To be recognized as an arcane level summoner, one’s required to have a million ena along with four familiars of that level.

Combat prowess was indeed sothing that had to be considered, but they couldn’t quantify combat prowess, so the ena had to be the requirent.

The choice would be either to summon a new familiar or officially beco an arcane level summoner.

It was a hard choice.

Nathan couldn’t answer her for a few minutes.

Ultimately, he reached one conclusion. Even if he beca an arcane level summoner, it would be useless if he couldn’t use those familiars to assist him in battle.

Nathan scratched the back of his head before agreeing with Mae. “You are right, Mae. I should summon my familiar. With this, there’s no need to have a conversation anymore.”

“So, only I get the power-up? Can I bully them now?” Fenrir grinned, eager to fight back since he was the one who usually got bullied.

“You and Anubis.” Nathan nodded. “I’m thinking about other familiars, but we will see about that later.”

“Well, that’s fine. As long as I’m one of them.” Fenrir smiled excitedly.

Nathan shook his head helplessly, fully aware of what Fenrir was planning to do. Then again, they were never excessive, so it was fine to let them have so ‘fun.’

“Anyway…” Nathan waved his hand, summoning Anubis. “This is the plan.”

“The plan has been transferred to my head through the link.” Anubis stopped him. “It looks like you are going to give ena.”

“Yeah. You and Fenrir. It’s ti to unlock your divinity even further.” Nathan nodded while raising both hands, each forming its respective contract.

While reading the contract, Anubis asked, “Before this, I do want to ask one question.”

“What?”

“Do you have any divine beasts in mind?”

“Oh, do you an the new familiar?”

“Yeah.”

Nathan shook his head. “I personally don’t have one right now. I’m going to think about it carefully. You should know my condition.”

“Indeed. The stronger you beco, the more ena you want to use to summon a new familiar. That’s why you cannot summon anyone as you like.” Anubis obviously understood his condition, which was why he was curious about his choice. “If you don’t have one, what do you think about my mythology?”

“Your mythology?”

“Yes, look at these guys. Fenrir and Nidhogg are from Norse mythology. Jinwu, Kun Peng, and Qilin are from Chinese mythology. Mae and Orochi are from Japanese mythology. Then, there’s . I know you are trying not to summon all the divine beasts from the sa mythology for variety, but there are a lot of powerful divine beasts in my mythology as well.”

“Well, there are other mythologies to consider,” added Fenrir, trying to pour salt in his wound.

Anubis’ eyebrows twitched. “There is Ra!”

“Ra is like your mythology’s version of Jinwu.” Fenrir shook his head.

“If you don’t want him, then there is Apep. He is evil, but there is a summoning link, so he shouldn’t make too much of a ruckus like Asmodeus.”

Fenrir shook his head. “We also have Jormungandr. You’d better summon him since I know him personally. He’s not an evil snake like that one. Or if you don’t want to summon anyone from Norse mythology anymore, you can just summon Ouroboros, the one you ntioned previously.”

Anubis was annoyed. “This muscle brain starts picking on everything I say. Talk about hurt…”

Fenrir had been learning from Nathan, but as expected, his short temper hadn’t improved that much.

Nathan stopped them before they fought. “I know, I know. I will consider your request seriously, Anubis. I still don’t have a na in mind, so I will consider your mythology first.”

“Mhmm.” Anubis nodded, satisfied.

Nathan waved his hand. “Either way, it has been decided that I will summon a new familiar. However, since we will also need ti to find the sacrificial items, I will select one more familiar to reach 1 million ena.”

“There should be enough ti to gather only 100 thousand ena.” Mae also agreed with this decision. “So, who will be the third familiar?”

Nathan smiled as if the answer was obvious.
