Chapter 1229: Perfect Bait Delivered to His Doorstep

‘Hmm? Do they have friends?’ Nathan couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows. He had ntioned that he planned to visit them, so he thought they would ntion anyone important.

Since there was no ntion, Nathan wondered if they kept it a secret or if these two people just ca today.

Nathan carefully approached them until he began to hear their conversation. Since there weren’t almost any people here, no one would reprimand them if they made a bit of noise here.

“I have given you the right to be my concubine.”

That was the first thing he heard. Even Nathan was stupefied, as if he had heard it incorrectly. He rarely encountered this kind of situation on Gratzel. Even soone like Rudeus didn’t say such a thing.

Yet, for so reason, there was another person who would actually say such a thing.

The problem was the fact that this person’s strength was similar to his. Obviously, from the voice alone, it was clear that he was a few years older than him, but he could be considered to be a very talented man.

anwhile, the other person next to him gave Nathan a sense of danger similar to Revon.

While he was extrely strong, the three won were much stronger if they combined their strength.

So, it would be best if the other party acted more reserved.

Nathan didn’t stop in his tracks. He continued onward, wondering who was speaking.

Once he passed the shelves, he could see the five people. As he expected, the three of them were Bella, Vivian, and lissa.

Sitting across from them was a middle-aged man with a big scar on his face. The one next to him was a man in his late twenties. From the looks of it, he was actually one or two years younger than Vivian and the others.

Nathan wondered what was going on, especially with how his master had been acting. It was clearly a displeased face, even though she didn’t show it explicitly.

Bella noticed him since she was sitting farthest left. Unfortunately, she didn’t use an illusion to send a ssage. Most likely, she didn’t want to cause trouble here, or she was just wary of the person before them.

Nathan casually walked toward them as the middle-aged man suddenly stood up to stop him.

“Stop!” The middle-aged man glared at Nathan.

“Why should I?” Nathan asked casually, his voice sending a ssage that he had arrived to lissa and Vivian.

“Know your place.” The middle-aged man squinted his eyes.

Nathan ignored him and tilted his body to the side before waving his hand. “I have arrived. Sorry for making you wait.”

“!!!” Vivian’s eyes lit up. She hurriedly stood up and rushed to him. “It’s perfect now that you are here.”

The middle-aged man let out a killing intent toward Nathan, warning him with a stern tone. “If you are trying to rescue the beauties, you should pick your opponent, young man.”

Nathan was dumbfounded. “Saving beauties? Well, you are not entirely wrong. They are beauties. But why do you think I’m saving them, not the other way around?”

The middle-aged man stepped forward, his face getting closer to Nathan’s. “I’m the one saving you. If you don’t want to die, that is.”

“I should be asking you the sa thing.” Nathan smiled, remaining calm.

“Who are you?!” The man raised his voice as he saw Vivian coming to Nathan and hugging his arm.

“? I am nobody.” Nathan could finally see the man’s appearance. He had a thin fra, but the ena leaking out of his body was incredible. Nathan had a lot of ena in his body as well, but it could be said he was a bit lacking compared to this person.

He had long blond hair, tied neatly at the back. However, his contorted face didn’t match his disposition.

“A re nobody dares to disrupt ?” The man gritted his teeth. “If I want you dead, you will die without anyone knowing.”

Nathan glanced to the side as if asking Vivian, who was actually standing before them.

“He claid to be the second prince of the empire. We should just go,” said Vivian with a soft voice.

“Oh. It turns out to be the second prince.”

“Now you know my identity, scram!”

Nathan didn’t have any change of expression despite knowing the other person was a prince. In fact, he couldn’t help but think, ‘I guess I understand where his arrogance cos from. In addition, his talent is quite good. But he reminds of that person from the Liaystian Kingdom… the one Evelyn called Kron dog or sothing.’

Nathan closed his eyes for a mont before asking, “Is this the stance of the empire?”

“!!!” The middle-aged suddenly noticed sothing wrong. Normally, the mont people knew about the identity of the second prince, they would be cowering in fear.

The second prince was one of the most talented geniuses in the empire. It wouldn’t be weird if he could beco a crystal fusion stage summoner before the age of 35. With his strength and his aides, he might beco an emperor in the future.

Yet, for so reason, the person in front of him was not scared. He was either confident or acting tough.

But the last question was sothing that couldn’t be ignored. It was a threat.

“What did you say?”

“I’m asking, is this the stance of the empire? If yes, then I will gladly leave the empire. Of course, I will tell that person, ‘The empire has outright told the Lantern and Candle to leave.'” Nathan smiled.

There was a montary silence after that statent.

It looked like the opposite party wasn’t aware of the Lantern and Candle yet. It was the only rchant group that supplied the cloud-repelling device. If that kind of group left, the empire would lose a massive opportunity.

On the other hand, the dynasty would regain its economy much faster and would far surpass the empire after that.

But because the prince didn’t know about it yet, he laughed and sneered. “The Lantern and Candle? What’s that? It must be sothing like a rchant group. Do you think that a small rchant group will be sothing in my eyes?”
