“There is no brother who won’t be sad at the death of his beloved sister. There is no uncle who won’t mourn his nephew and niece.” The emperor’s voice cracked.
Johnson turned out to be a relative of the imperial family. Even Evelyn didn’t expect this information. It looked like he married one of the princesses or, more like, a princess close to the current emperor.
The emperor let out a long sigh. “Yet, you haven’t moved on. It pains to see you like this.”
“I have sworn that I won’t move on before I can avenge them. And I never plan to break that oath. I won’t rest until I kill the people who are involved in that massacre.”
The emperor obviously knew about the oath. “So, coming to the capital is sothing you need to do to fulfill that oath? What do you want to ask , Johnson?”
Johnson hesitated for a mont. “Your Imperial Majesty. I would like to ask you. You once promised a young man that you would lend the dynasty’s power to crush the Death Society. Is that correct?”
“Of course.”
Johnson raised his head, looking the emperor in the eye. “In that case, what if I tell you there is a mole in the imperial palace?”

“Your Imperial Majesty. Is your promise to crush the Death Society still in effect?”
“You…” The emperor gritted his teeth.
“I would like you to capture Minerva Legaula—no, Minerva Taula Erwih, the empress.”
“Johnson!” The emperor glared at him.
“The evidence I brought is concrete, Your Majesty. If you still uphold your promise, please… I beg you, please capture the empress. She has been the one secretly leaking the information.”
“Do you know what it ans to capture the empress?” The emperor clenched his fists.
“I’m aware. With the current world’s situation, it will be troubleso for the dynasty if the people know that the traitor is actually the empress.
“However, the massacre couldn’t have happened without the help of an insider.
“If Your Majesty doesn’t want to do it personally, I’m willing to do the task. We can put the empress under house arrest and investigate the Legaula family in secret. We can reveal the truth only after the Death Society has been taken care of.
