"Hah! Hope?" The middle-aged man snorted. "Both of us know that there is no hope!"
The alien fell silent for a mont. "What you are... feeling right now... is despair..."
"No, I’m brimming with hope. Do you think I don’t know what kind of continent this is? You are the one telling directly."
"Luca..."
"Shut up! Don’t call by that na anymore! Luca is dead. Now, I’m the head of the Eleren family, Sarfan!"
The alien couldn’t help but rember the ti when he was still young.
At that ti, both Luca and Luna were standing in front of him with big smiles on their faces. Luna had her own condition, causing everything about her to be white. On the other hand, Luca was the exact opposite of her.
His black hair, black eyes, and even bigger build ca from his parents, causing him to be trusted.
Even then, both of them were supporting each other. Luna was originally much weaker than Luca due to her body’s condition, but even then Luca helped her.
Their talents were supposed to be similar, so they might be able to reach the sa level.
However, that image had to shatter. Luca, who inherited everything from his parents, beca the successor, while Luna, who had the exact opposite, was thought to be cursed.
As a result, Luca moved away from the alien. The only one who still visited him from ti to ti was Luna.
"Uncle Crotto," with a sad smile on her face, Luna greeted the alien. "I’ve co again."
"Luna... I’m sorry..." Crotto apologized. "If not for , Luca..."
"I already know everything. You have told a lot of things about your race. I know that you are different. Unlike any other aliens, you treat us like your own children.
"I also know that Luca was the one who spread the words about ..." Luna shook her head. "I’m just afraid he won’t stop..."
"Luca... He... got corrupted because of that person."
"I know." Luna nodded.
Crotto fell silent. He could feel the sadness and the hopelessness within her. On the one hand, she looked like she wanted to help her twin brother. On the other hand, she knew that there was only one outco at the end of this path.
Luna raised her head. "I wish to go on a journey. I don’t wish to fight him because I don’t want either of us dead."
Crotto felt moved. He couldn’t help but reveal the one solution that might change everything. "Luna. There might be another hope, but I don’t know whether it will be possible or not. And it will be hard on you."
"Hope?"
"Yes. I have stayed in this place for a few hundred years to wait for that hope. And that person will surely co."
"That person?"
Crotto hesitated for a second. "There is a prophecy. I have always thought that you are the chosen one of this era, the person who can threaten the Singularity.
"However, I might be wrong. While you have that potential, I can’t say you are truly the person we’re waiting for.
"Still, I’m sure that person will be coming. The one who bears that mark will co to this place. At that ti, if you can aid that person, you might be able to get what you want.
"Defeat the person guided by the singularity. Once that happens, your brother might be rescued without the need of killing him.
"But the price..."
Luna could see what would happen. "I see. Aiding that person ans I will have to go to the alien world. Besides, Luca will most likely force to leave the family.
"I won’t have any way to return to the family, but that also ans Luca doesn’t have to be threatened by my existence. The cursed child has to go."
Crotto had watched her growth, so it was quite painful to force her to bear that burden.
Unfortunately, there was no other choice if she wanted to accomplish both goals.
"Luna Eleren. There will be a person who has the sigil of the Ancient One, Cthulhu. You are to assist him with everything you have. Bear this mark and wait for the chosen one." Crotto extended one of his tentacles.
Luna extended her hand.
Once Crotto’s tentacle touched the back of her hand, it started to shine as the light gradually took the shape of a sigil.
"You are now my chosen one. May this aid you."
What they didn’t realize was that soone saw the process of the marking.
And that person was Luca. The hatred in his heart had grown because he had found out about the process of the marking, not the conversation before it.
In his thought, Crotto favored Luna more than him.
"Luca..." Crotto looked at the middle-aged Luca. "Khh..."
His body felt like it was being crushed. Luca glared at him and stated, "If you call Luca one more ti, I will make you think death is a salvation!
"I know everything about the alien race. Don’t you love making humans fight each other? We are nothing but lesser beings that only serve as your enjoynt?
"Do you think I don’t know the purpose of the alien on this planet? I know, I know everything. Because I’m the chosen one!"
"You have... been blinded." Crotto denied it.
"I have opened my eyes, unlike that naive bitch." Sarfan waved his hand. "You know that the alien race doesn’t have any hope. And you say there’s hope? You are a liar.
"I have found the truth. Unlike her, I choose to embrace the truth. I’m not so naive after all."
"You should stop. Don’t disrespect your sister." Crotto sounded pained. "I won’t deny that my race acted like that in the past. But I’m different. After staying here for hundreds of years, I have co to love humans."
"Bullshit!’ Sarfan banged the cage. "Then, tell what you are doing here. You can’t, right? That’s because you favor Luna more than .
"Well, talking to such a naive brat is much easier than talking to ." Sarfan spread his arms. "I know the true purpose of this continent.
"You aliens are using humans to fight that person. He is the one who knows the most truth in this world. He is truly... the Godfather of this world, the one who will save the humans, not you."
