Chapter 1291: Fixing the Fragnt

Nathan could agree with Xolotl to a certain extent, but he was rather confused about his intention. “How do you properly use the fragnt?”

“On this continent, you are able to access the world fragnt and ultimately fuse with the fragnt, which is what you call the crystal fusion.

“On your continent, you are able to summon familiars and have them teach you magic or, you can say, their power. To use it, you need the fuel, which is what we call ena in this world.

“While both are correct ways to use it, your continent has a much higher chance of figuring out what is lacking.

“And that is… the lifebound contract. The concept of the lifebound contract is definitely on the right track, but it is lacking the basics.

“The lifebound contract creates a stronger connection between your body and the world fragnt in your body.

“However, the familiar itself is actually a small part of the world fragnt, so why should it need a stronger connection? It is because when you summon a familiar, a part of the world fragnt in your body is chipped away for them to manifest.

“As such, the lifebound contract allows you to fix the broken part to a certain extent. But in the end, it’s like a glass, once broken, it will never return to the way it was. Now, sense the wolf’s energy and fragnt.”

It took him a few seconds to locate everything. It wasn’t hard because he was the one who made the concept of the armor, so he knew where he should be looking.

“And now, trace the energy in each part. Where does it go?”

“My heart. The place where the ena is concentrated.”

“Yes. And that’s also where the world fragnt within you resides. If you have the lifebound link, you will feel the extra power coming from the link, correct?”

“But I don’t have it.”

“No, but you will be able to sense it the sa. Now that your ena has cald down, it should be much easier to sense it. Follow the trace of that energy to the very core… even deeper than what you normally sense.”

Nathan furrowed his eyebrows. He followed the ena back to the heart, but because Xolotl was telling him to go further, Nathan tried to do it.

It felt like he was being blinded by the shining ena in his heart, but because the ena had cald down, there wasn’t much resistance from the ena, which allowed him to go deeper.

It was at this ti that he noticed sothing.

“Hmm? The summoning link is connected to various places?” Nathan could feel that the space within the center of his ena was like a brain cell. It created a kind of net that looked complicated and incomprehensible.

“Your job right now is to use your summoning link to move the origin of that ena to the center. Oi, Wolf. It’s your ti to do it as well.”

Fenrir poured his power into the summoning link. Normally, the ena from his heart would resist to create a balance.

But thanks to the dicine, there was almost no resistance.

Thanks to Fenrir’s power, Nathan felt like he was able to squeeze his heart and forced the sources to fuse one by one.

After a few minutes, Nathan noticed sothing important. “Wait… This is…”

Even Fenrir could see it. “The exact sa fragnt that allows to manifest?”

“That’s right.” Xolotl nodded and ford a crystal in his palm. The crystal suddenly cracked and split symtrically. “Once you summon your familiar, the fragnt breaks apart. A familiar naturally fixes the other part so that they can manifest, but what about the original part?

“The one linking to you is not the summoner itself, but your own fragnt that is directly attached to the summoner’s body.

“Now that you have fixed that broken part, check him again with your eyes, Summoner? You might as well check to confirm it.”

Nathan opened his eyes with a confused expression. He looked at the guard on his arm and realized what had been missing the whole ti.

Na: Fenrir

Level: 506/972

Race: Celestial Wolf

Quality: Excellent (Mid)

Ena: 1,000,000/67,970,488

Absorption Rate: 61%

Skill Unlock: 46%

“Wait a minute.” Nathan gasped, while Fenrir noticed the difference when he fixed the broken fragnts.

“My power… It is much easier to draw my power now?” Fenrir was stunned.

“That’s right. You are used to drawing your power from multiple sources, but this ti, there is only a single source and a big channel for it.”

“So, it’s not because I sealed my power that even the way I utilized my power was sluggish?”

Xolotl nodded. “Indeed. You couldn’t sense it because you haven’t reached this level.”

“Huh?” Nathan almost forgot that he had never seen Xolotl’s status. He raised his head and realized what was going on.

Na: Xolotl

Level: 512/1,201

Race: Itzcuintli

Quality: Excellent (Mid)

Ena: 1,000,000/67,970,488

Absorption Rate: 62%

Skill Unlock: 38%

If he had seen Xolotl’s power from the start, he might have realized sothing else. The reason Xolotl was able to overpower the elite class alien was that he managed to draw his power completely.

“Have you figured out what happened, Summoner?” Xolotl asked.

“Yeah…” Nathan nodded with a serious expression. “If you have a lifebound contract, doing this process will be much easier because there can be more power pumped from your lifebound familiar to fight the resistance.

“But when did you actually fix this, Xolotl?”

“I have access to parts of your mory. I saw you foolishly throwing away your ena to get this information, so I thought I should tell you the truth.”

“Now that I think about it…” Nathan gasped. “If you have access to my mory, don’t you also know that I’m not a part of this world? And I ca here as…”

“…a familiar? Yes.” Xolotl nodded. “That’s why I suggested this in the first place. It’s ti for you to break the shattered pieces on your body.”

Nathan was stunned. That was right. When he first examined his status, he got the sa information as Fenrir. The status only had na, race, level, and quality.

If he was also a familiar, he should have gotten more information, like what he could see from Fenrir right now.

“Understood. Let’s do it. What should I do?”
