Johnson dropped his jaw after hearing his request. He couldn’t help raising his voice. “Are you insane?”
His request was definitely presumptuous. If it were anyone else, they would definitely be killed imdiately because of treason.
On the other hand, the emperor simply remained silent. He was surprised but considered this request calmly.

Nathan nodded. “Yes.”
The emperor paused for a mont before raising two questions. “Before answering your request, would you kindly answer two questions?”

Then again, if he wanted to reject him, the empire would definitely love to have Nathan back. And the magic weapon would definitely be used by them.

Nathan arranged the words in his mind so as not to lie to the emperor but at the sa ti not to expose the whole truth.
After a minute, Nathan opened his mouth. “My Heavenly Ability is quite unique. It is in the form of a contract. Once bound by the contract, you have to follow this contract unconditionally.
“Hence, I plan to set up contracts with the four people I ntioned, requesting their clarification as well as their affiliation.

The emperor understood the unique usage of the Soul Contract. Since Nathan ntioned a contract, it ant the two parties had to agree. That was why he considered it a big flaw. He couldn’t force anyone to comply if they didn’t sign the contract.
Of course, the real Soul Contract was much more versatile. Nathan just wanted him to think it wasn’t as good to avoid the emperor coveting his Heavenly Ability.
The emperor asked, “I can get the gist of your Heavenly Ability. I personally don’t mind if you want to use that power on others, but there is a little request I hope you can comply with.”
“A request?” Nathan frowned. The emperor had been demanding a little too much. So, Nathan didn’t want to accept his request right away. “I’ll decide after hearing about this request.”
“I want you to use your Heavenly Ability on first.” The emperor decided to drop a bomb.
Nathan, Evelyn, and Johnson’s eyes were wide open.
“Your Majesty. That’s too dangerous! You can’t do that.” Johnson panicked. He couldn’t expose the emperor to any harm.
However, the emperor waved his hand, explaining, “First of all, by using it on , I will be able to experience its power. This way, I will know whether this will harm my people or not.
“In addition, won’t it be good for you? If you can truly extract the truth, I, as the emperor, can let you know that I’m not a part of this conspiracy. Do you think I didn’t know that you were doubting before?”
“That’s…” Johnson couldn’t answer.

“That’s why I want you to accept this request. Ignore Johnson for now.”

Nathan, on the other hand, respected the emperor a bit more. He was daring and bold but wasn’t afraid of putting himself at risk to protect his close ones.
“I accept.”
