Selena wasn’t frustrated, angry, or sad. She said all this because she loved Nathan. She loved Nathan to death.
All this time, Nathan had been supporting them. He had shown his strong side, being a reliable wall that would protect them from all storms. He was there to support them whenever they needed him.
That was why Selena didn’t want to see Nathan in such a weak state. Having insecurities or overthinking might show that they were just human. At the same time, Nathan had always been the one to push forward without caring about the challenges in his path.
That was why, as his wives, Selena didn’t mind what kind of stigma she would get after this. She just wanted to support Nathan.
This time, it was her turn to push him from behind so that he could finally walk confidently again.
Clones? Data? Familiars? All that plicated stuff could be thrown away. For her, there was only one person in front of her. It was none other than her husband, Nathan Reckmoon.
Even if that person denied himself, she would never regard him as anything other than her husband.
That was why Selena stopped him and wanted to let him know how much she loved him. She loved him this much, so even if Nathan didn’t love himself anymore, she would shower him with enough love that he would feel plete.
She was sure that Sera and the others shared the same thinking.
No matter what, she dared to claim the main wife position. It wasn’t just a position. She also took the responsibility that came with it.
If the world wanted to hunt him down, she would be the first one to raise her weapon against the world.
"Look at the people around you, dear. Are they your wives? Are you their husband?"
Nathan’s body shook. Those soft words pained his heart. He didn’t want to disappoint them. At the same time, the action not to disappoint them somehow made them disappointed.
Nathan closed his eyes. What more could he ask of them? He might have gone too far with himself.
Maybe if he had discussed this sooner, all kinds of bad thoughts wouldn’t have accumulated. He wouldn’t have felt this awful.
Nathan lowered his head before saying, "Sommy."
His mouth was still covered by two people’s hands, so he couldn’t say it clearly. Still, they knew what he’d just said.
"Apology accepted. Wele back, my dear, our beloved husband." Selena smiled.
Mae smiled, watching everything from a distance. It looked as though the matter had been settled.
No, she thought that her decision this time was correct. This way, there would be no more hesitation from the girls and Nathan when they fought against the aliens.
Selena nodded, signaling to the others to release Nathan.
Nathan looked at the girls and asked, "I have a dream. I want to build a family. I know I’ll make mistakes in the future, both as a husband and a father. However, I want to realize that dream.
"I want a family where everyone can grow stronger and wiser. I don’t want it to be overly kind and protective, which will create spoiled children. I don’t want it to be overbearing, which will create a blood feud.
"I might not know how to do it yet or what will happen in the future, but that’s my dream.
"To achieve my dream, I will do my best. I will kill the black cell and free us from imminent destruction.
"However, I know how hard it is to realize this dream. The black cell is a foe that even such a strong race fails to defeat.
"Right now, I don’t even have much confidence to defeat the black cell, but I’m willing to try. I’m afraid that I may end up failing to fulfill my promise to you.
"But I can say this. If there is harm to the family, let me be the first one to be harmed.
"That’s my promise as a husband. Will you help me?"
Selena smiled. "Isn’t that what a family is all about?"
Sera nodded in agreement. "Took you long enough to say all this."
Flora raised three fingers. "I want three children myself."
Noelle chuckled. "I will train them to get stronger."
"Me too." Alavenya grinned.
"I will teach them to be wise and smart." Vivian looked determined.
"I will smack their butts if they bee unruly." Evelyn raised her hand.
"In that case, I will spoil them if they do something good." Bella winked playfully.
"More importantly..." Luna nodded. Everything was good, but there was one important thing they needed to do if they wanted to achieve that goal. "We are with you to the very end. Whether it will fail or not, we will fight alongside you."
Nathan’s expression melted. "Thank you."
Mae just cheered for them from the side. Of course, there was nothing that needed to be seen from the illusion anymore. That was why she first sent Iris outside. This way, they didn’t need to feel embarrassed because Iris didn’t watch them.
Nathan turned to Mae. "Mae, I should also thank you."
"Not at all. It was true that I had overstepped my bounds. If you would like to punish me, I wouldn’t plain." Mae shook her head.
"It was entirely my mistake. I should have been more honest from the start. Thanks to you, I realized how foolish I was."
Mae felt happy. She didn’t have to worry about Nathan anymore. "You’re wele."
"Well, it’s good that you realize your mistake. However, it doesn’t change the fact that you almost gave us a heart attack." Selena suddenly raised her eyebrows. "Don’t you think something like this deserves a punishment?"
Sera grinned. "He did admit it was his mistake."
"How should we punish him?" Flora looked as if she were ready with her mischief.
Alavenya and Noelle just looked at each other.
Bella was already unbuttoning her shirt, while Evelyn was more blunt about it. "Of course. He needs to be punished with his body."
"I agree." Vivian nodded in agreement.
Luna glanced to the side. "Mae, please?"
"Of course." Mae snapped her fingers. The scenery changed to a large room. She simply said, "I will join for round two later, with Risa and the others."
"..." Nathan looked dumbfounded. "I’m... dead."
