The archbishop opened the letter carefully and was stunned by the content of the letter.

"Pfft." The Pope wasn't offended. He was laughing out loud as though he were satisfied with the letter. "This guy is the best."

The Pope asked, "If we register our summoners, what would happen?"

"Mhmm." The Pope nodded, feeling a bit excited.

The king was standing on his throne, glaring at Rudeus in shock. "You… You have been hiding all this information the whole ti?!"
Rudeus couldn't reply to him. In the end, his plan was to have his sister approach Nathan next term. This way, he would wield a lot of power in the kingdom, which would make him in the position to fight for the throne.
Besides, hiding all this information, including the fact that he once lost to Nathan, was not that much of a big deal. However, it all changed after the two topics Nathan and Vivian brought into the conference.
If they had known about this the whole ti, the kingdom would have done sothing. But because Rudeus kept all this information a secret, the Azilia Kingdom had an advantage over them.
The only miscalculation that Rudeus had was the fact that Nathan would beco this big in such a short period. He thought the biggest thing he should worry about was his identity as a unique summoner.
But it turned out Vivian was the biggest reason. Now that he thought about it, Nathan was weirdly accepted into the academy. People thought it was because of the answers he put on that exam.
After that conference, it was clear that the exam was set up by Vivian. And Nathan's answer might have led her to this result. In other words, Nathan was the biggest contributor.
The reason the academy accepted him was not because of his beasts but because of his unique ideas.

Rudeus had to persuade him to avoid losing everything, including his life. He had to word it carefully because this battle wasn't between him and Flora anymore. It was the battle between the Azilia Kingdom and the Liaystian Kingdom.
Rudeus' fate was similar to Count Ashton's. With the sudden eruption of Nathan's popularity, there were a lot of nobles currying his favor. In other words, they would suppress Count Ashton without Nathan even asking for it. In the end, Selena would have the last say about it. As long as she gave them a nod, they wouldn't hesitate to destroy the Ashton family.
