Nathan kept staring at the sea ahead when he had ti, looking as if he was thinking about sothing deep.
Flora and Selena were curious, since Nathan might have figured out sothing important.
But Anubis and Fenrir were next to him, which made them think Nathan was discussing sothing with those two instead of them.
Little did they know, Anubis and Fenrir were twitching their eyebrows as Nathan had gone insane again.
"Hmm… This is really hard. I wonder whom I should choose. Should I beco Christopher Columbus? No, not really. I'm not trying to find an island now. Maybe I can claim myself as Christopher Columbus when we're searching for another continent.
"How about Admiral Zheng He? No, no. He was an explorer, so I don't think it fits the the now. Maybe I should just laugh, Yohohoho!" Nathan smirked.
"…" Anubis and Fenrir didn't know what to say when Nathan had beco like this.
"I don't care who you're trying to be, but don't forget that we are here to find the item for the next familiar. If you're playing around like this, we might end up failing, you know?" Anubis sighed.
Nathan pouted. "Can't I have a bit of fun?"
"You can do that on the return trip." Anubis shook his head. "Even though we're able to fight, we might not be able to help a lot. This is unknown territory for us, so rather than standing here, you should go back inside and conserve your energy."
"That bird still hasn't co back? Are there no aliens yet?" Fenrir frowned. "Currently, I see nothing dangerous approaching us, so it should be fine. But… this is weird. In a place like this, there should be so aliens."
Nathan shook his head helplessly. "I don't know as well, but if we're talking about aliens, I can think of several nas.
"According to the basic description, we seem to be fighting Deep Ones. They are the most famous aquatic beings with fish-like and frog-like characteristics. They can live beneath the ocean but can co to the surface.
"Though, if I recall correctly, they can actually interbreed with humans, creating hybrid offspring. I'm not sure of it for the ti being, so I might ask the duchess later.
"Still, I don't think we will find Father Dragon or Mother Hydra during this expedition. They are two massive, god-like Deep Ones who are worshiped by their lesser kin.
"The problem will be Cthulhu. He is considered a great old one. I don't know if he is on this planet or not. Either way, if we go farther into the sea, we might find them. However, as long as no stories about them exist, they shouldn't appear during this mission.
"Maybe one of his spawns, like Zoth-Ommog?" Nathan squinted his eyes. "Either way, we can't lower our guard.
Fenrir smirked. "Heh? It seems we're going to have so fun soon."
Anubis sighed. "Why do I feel like the stronger we are, the closer we are to the truth? And the stronger the aliens we have to face. This whole ti, we have been fighting their spawns, but once we are getting closer to the truth, are we supposed to fight those nad beings?"
Nathan nodded. "Most likely. In the end, the one who opened the portal to this world was such a being."
"Let fight them!"
Nathan glanced at Fenrir's excited face for a bit before turning around. "Anyway, watch out for the enemies. I will retire first."
Fenrir and Anubis didn't say anything and remained on their spot, making sure that no aliens were coming.
Before going back, Nathan ca to Flora first. There was sothing he needed from Flora.
"What? Are you serious?" Flora blinked her eyes a few tis, confused by the request he whispered just a mont ago.
"Yeah. This is just an assurance. You already know my luck, so I have to do it in one way or another." Nathan nodded.
Flora thought for a mont before agreeing. "Alright. That should be easy enough."
"Great. Thank you. I'll be visiting your aunt for a second since there's sothing I'd like to ask."
"My aunt? Don't tell , you love older won…" Flora squinted her eyes. "Even if Selena accepts it, I won't!"
Nathan smiled wryly. "Even if I do like an older woman, your aunt won't be one of them."
"So that ans you do like them?" Flora squinted her eyes.
"…" Nathan's eyebrows twitched. Why did he feel like Flora beca closer and closer to Selena in terms of understanding him?
Nathan let out a sigh and just waved his hand while walking away.
Once he reached Lena's office, he started asking about the legends in the town, wanting to confirm about their opponents.
"Hmm…" Lena crossed her arms. "I have never heard of that legend. There was no huge monster coming into the city.
"As for our opponents, yes, they're the fish-like or frog-like creatures. However, there are so who look like a ghoul."
"Sea ghouls?" Nathan raised his eyebrows. "I see. Deep Ones and Sea Ghouls, huh?"
"You know their nas?" Lena frowned.
"My familiars fought them, not those two races specifically, but the aliens." Nathan lied so naturally that Lena couldn't find any fault in his expression or tone. "Those two were known by those nas."
"I see. Still, I don't know about their legend. My family has been here for at least a century, but no such thing has happened.
"Besides, what did you say about interbreeding earlier? Is that even possible?"
"Maybe?" Nathan smiled wryly. "I don't know."
Lena looked down, falling into deep thought. "Hmm. I have never heard of interbreeding. And when they attack us, they're focused on killing."
"I see." Nathan thought, 'Is it because of the black cell that those aliens love to kill instead of breed? Either way, it's not a pleasant topic to discuss.'
"Anyway, thanks for the information. Their nas alone are good enough. If we can learn more about aliens, it will be better." Lena nodded. "For now—"
Just as she was about to tell Nathan to get so rest, they heard the ship's bell ringing, signaling them there was an attack.
"For now…" Lena smiled wryly, correcting her words. "Go outside and make sure they don't destroy us."
