Chapter 919: Overheard
“Please take care.” Mae politely bowed and took her leave. She didn’t go back right away. Instead, she exited the tent.
When her figure was not visible from Nathan’s position anymore, she glanced to the side, specifically at the woman who had been overhearing their conversation, Selena.
“I don’t really condone the act of eavesdropping.” Mae looked at Selena with a cold expression. Little did Nathan know, the reason Mae was flustered in the very beginning was because she sensed and heard Selena outside the tent.
Anubis should have known about it as well, yet he didn’t say anything. It ant Anubis deed that Selena should listen as well.
She agreed because their summoner was attempting sothing dangerous because of her.
However, Mae could only sigh after seeing Selena burying her face in her tights as though she were covering her face so anyone couldn’t see her tears.
She felt ashad to put Nathan in such a difficult situation. At the sa ti, if he didn’t do it this way, everything would be in vain. In fact, if she didn’t have any karma with Nathan, she would probably never see her father again.
The thought of Nathan sacrificing so much for her made her loathe herself. And the fact that Nathan would play dumb all for her sake caused it to be unbearable.
Anubis wanted her to hear it.
Mae scratched the back of her head. “What you do is up to you. Then have a good day.”
Mae looked at her with a helpless look. In fact, Mae felt slightly envious. This was the first ti soone would do such a dangerous thing just for the person he loves. And that person was not her. As a woman, she, of course, desired such affection.

Nathan explained, “It’s impossible to leave them alone right now because there’s a chance sothing big will claim their lives. And if I do that, Selena will realize it and bla herself. That’s why we will still go together.
“However, Mae’s suggestion is sothing I am considering right now. We can go there and wait for the bigger problem to arrive before conducting the summoning ritual.
“There is one big reason for my decision to unleash the summoning ritual here instead of bringing him back.

“I can think of several ideas, such as using the summoning ritual with so much ena that this ena will attract the surrounding beasts, or exploring the place he resides to find any hidden door or alien, or anything else. Once that bigger problem occurs, we will free Count Ashton. This way, fate won’t ss around with him. I might be just paranoid about this, but it’s better safe than sorry.
“I’d rather fight against 3 elite class aliens than see her father die because of .” Nathan sighed. “I will have Jinwu scout the area around before we arrive. If there are a lot of beasts around that place, we’ll just create a situation of a siege.
“Nevertheless, no matter the scenarios, we will need a lot of ena. Hence, I’m planning to have Selena ingest a lot of cores. I can simply persuade her this is necessary for the vampire progenitor or sothing.
“Either way, we’ll actively create that bigger problem even if it ans provoking sothing we can’t handle. We can always escape. Besides, I will take my ti crossing this mountain.
“We’ll gather as many cores as possible and make the group significantly stronger.
“I know you’re going to call reckless or sothing, but I have made my decision.” Nathan’s expression turned solemn. “I don’t plan to beco a person who blas everything on fate. My destiny is sothing I set on. My luck is not my weakness, it’s my weapon. The karma can get entangled in any way it wants, but my path will remain clear.
“I don’t need divination to see my future. I will use my past to determine my present. I will use my present to create my future. I will use my future to show my past that I have overco them.”
Anubis and Mae felt chills down their spines when they heard his statent. They might consider it a boastful speech if it were anyone else, but Nathan was different. They had seen him facing it, seeing his own fate, and overcoming it with his wisdom.
It would be an arduous journey, as though he were just a normal person walking straight on a desert with nurous sandstorms and tornadoes in his path.
But if it was Nathan, he might be able to do it. It was their job to help him overco the challenge.
That was right. Nathan was not alone. Even if everyone left him, his familiars would always be walking alongside him.
This was their summoner.
