Chapter 922: Worry
Nathan looked at the mountain range outside his tent while squinting his eyes. “There doesn’t seem to be any anomaly. If that’s the case, we should be able to get another seven or eight hundred thousand ena in the next couple of days from this mountain alone.
“Can you see anything, Jinwu?” Nathan asked.
Jinwu shook his head. “Not at the mont. The mountain might not be as dangerous as we originally thought. Yes, there are a lot, but with enough summoners, it’s not that dangerous.
“Then again, according to the book, it’s that kind of mountain, so there might not be anything you’re hoping for.” Jinwu shook his head.
“I see.” Nathan pondered. “How about the palace?”
“I can’t see it yet. We’re still too far. If only I didn’t get the limitation of this link…” Jinwu sighed.
“It can’t be helped. I have asked lissa for the inscription, but it can only increase about 30%, so she wants to improve it a bit more by using the new knowledge regarding summoner and familiar mutual connection.
“We can only wait for her to finish before using it.” Nathan smiled wryly.
“Yeah. Right now, our range is about 1,100 ters (0.68 miles). Are you going to skip a part of the mountain by using Peng?” Jinwu asked.
“I might ask Peng on the last day if nothing is happening.” Nathan nodded. These alien attacks couldn’t be considered a ‘problem’ that could lead to a ‘big problem’ in Nathan’s mind.
Hence, he was going to create that ‘problem’ by using Peng. If Peng flew across the remaining mountain range, he would definitely attract a lot of aliens.
Of course, Kun might be more effective for this, but there was one thing that Peng had that was necessary for Nathan’s plan.
It was speed. By using speed, he wanted to cross the last bit of distance as quickly as possible so that the aliens that had been gathered by him turned into a ‘problem,’ but the ti was not fast enough for it to lead to a ‘big problem.’
And once they arrived, they would simply take down the aliens while preparing for the summoning ritual. During that ti, Noel would search for the ‘big problem’ and trigger it so that they could reset his luck and save Selena’s father.
This was Nathan’s original plan if there was no big problem coming from this mountain.
Still, they had several days to go, so they could only observe the situation for the ti being.
Nathan’s expression turned solemn.
“It looks like you’re concerned about sothing.” Mae squinted her eyes. “Is it because of fate again?”
“Yeah.” Nathan raised one finger. “In the past few days, I have been thinking about it. My ti elent is sothing that might ss with fate, right?”
“…” Mae contemplated. “Yes and no. I believe you are more knowledgeable than about the ti elent.”
“Well…” Nathan scratched the back of his head. He had thought about it a lot. Since he had a ti elent, he might be able to turn back ti.
However, ti didn’t work that way. If he went to the past, that past would beco the present.
There were also other ti paradoxes he had heard. The dream he got was most likely linked to one of those paradoxes, the bootstrap paradox.
It was a ti travel paradox where an event is both the cause and effect of another event, creating a closed loop.
He sent the piece of information back in ti, which turned into the cause of its own existence. He sent that dream so that it influenced Nathan to take the ti elent.
At the sa ti, it couldn’t explain the reason Nathan’s original soul disappeared, which allowed him to inhabit this body.
In addition, there was a multiple tiline theory. So, if he went to the past, that tiline might reach a certain ending, but not his tiline or other tilines.
According to Charlotte, magic was essentially controlling nature. Whether it was fla, water, light, an absolute elent, or even space and ti, it was the living way to control nature. They were using the ena to ss with what nature already had.
In other words, while he might be able to alter sothing in a certain way, he couldn’t completely cause nature to go beyond what it was supposed to have.
That was why, as a ti ability summoner, he should be able to peek at the future by using ti, but he didn’t know how it worked yet. He didn’t know if what he saw was only applicable to his own tiline and now that he had taken a peek at it, he would find another tiline that changed because of that information.
Nathan scratched the back of his head. “Maybe I should study ti a bit more.”
“Indeed.” Mae nodded. “Although nature is the one whispering to you how to wield them, studying about that particular elent will allow you to understand which one you should follow and ultimately create that magic.”
“Well, magic is an extrely complicated topic. I guess I will ask Charlotte a lot of questions once we’re back.” Nathan crossed his arms. “Or maybe Evelyn, since she’s a space elent user, which is known to have the sa rarity as ti elent. She uses gravity too.”
“That’s probably the best. While Charlotte needs to have a certain amount of knowledge to make her illusion look real, having soone with space and gravity will be much more beneficial than her.” Mae agreed.
“In the end, it’s all the accumulation of my past, present, and future, huh?” Nathan muttered. “I wonder if the soul contract has anything to do with the dream? Or is it purely because of the ti elent?”
It looked like there was no relevance between the topic and what they currently were doing. However, there was actually one link that connected them.
Why did that person send the dream? Was it to warn him about the alien’s invasion? But in the second dream, it contained the death of three people. If that was the case, did the girl leave him? Was there a crack in their relationship between them because Nathan didn’t know his bad luck actually killed the count?
Nathan needed to know how much he could alter with the ti elent. And the way he manipulated the timing of his own fate, specifically the problem and big problem, he might be able to co up with magic using this incident as an inspiration.
