Within the Ling family estate, it could be said that undercurrents had long been swirling, and a storm was already brewing.

Only soone as naive as Ling Yuxun was still in the dark, though she knew that her eldest uncle, third aunt, and fourth aunt were opposed to moving the Ling family’s business back to the dostic market, she had no idea they were ruthless enough to go so far as murder to silence others.

They hated not just her and her father, but they were even willing to go as far as killing their own brother, Ling Shuanghe.

This is what happens in wealthy families when the family business becos so large that it tempts everyone, when each person is fighting for personal fa and profit—that is when people are most insane.

Anything is possible, because to them, a day without wealth is more painful than death itself.

Ye Tianchen understood that to thoroughly resolve the Ling family’s affairs and eliminate these worries, it wasn’t enough to rely on violence and killing alone.

There are so things that killing cannot help in the slightest; it required a step by step approach to completely dismantle so people’s conspiracies and sches.

Following behind Ling Yuxun, Ye Tianchen noticed she had beco sowhat haggard over the past few days.

It seed her worries were taking a toll, and with her grandfather Ling Shuanghe’s illness growing ever more serious, showing no signs of recovery, it naturally made Ling Yuxun even more anxious.

“Manager Apo, I didn’t know you could practice dicine; I’ve never heard of it before,” Ling Yuxun said with a slight smile as they walked along.

“Oh, it’s just so minor dical skills, nothing sophisticated enough for grand occasions.

Right now, during this critical period, casual comings and goings would only raise the alertness of the authorities in M country.

It would make it even more difficult for us to leave later, so it’s better not to go out under normal circumstances,” Ye Tianchen replied.

“Mmm, all I want is for Grandpa to be well and to leave the Ling family estate with to return to China.

As for the property and wealth, I really don’t want any of it.

I’ve also persuaded Grandpa to let go,” Ling Yuxun nodded and said with so concern.

Ye Tianchen was taken aback.

He had not expected Ling Yuxun to be so open-minded.

For a girl in her twenties, especially one as young as she was, to relinquish such external possessions was indeed rare.

He wondered how many people were out there, who, for the sake of fa and money, would willingly give up not just their dignity but their integrity as well.

“It’s best if Miss Sun can think this way.

Don’t worry, nothing will happen!” Ye Tianchen said with a smile.

Ling Yuxun glanced at Ye Tianchen, then hesitantly spoke, “Manager Apo, I know you belong to my great uncle, but you have been the estate’s manager since I was a child, and you’re not a bad person.

I understand that my father being the helmsman of the Ling family did not sit well with my great uncle, and that’s understandable.

Whatever happens, all I wish for is Grandpa to be safe and sound.

As for the wealth, Dad and I have already discussed it—we can do without it!”

Hearing Ling Yuxun’s words, Ye Tianchen could feel that she was sincere.

It seed that Ling Yuxun had returned to M country not to gain a larger share of the family’s wealth but to ensure her grandfather’s safety.

She was a kind girl, and her innocence and liveliness were precious traits.

However, Ye Tianchen was currently playing the role of Apo, a close confidant of Ling Yuyang, the eldest young master and firstborn of the Ling family.

Ling Yuyang’s thoughts and ambitions were discernible to anyone.

Since Apo was a trusted ally of Ling Yuyang, it was certain that he would be on Ling Yuyang’s side.

“Miss Sun, rest assured, I will convey your thoughts to the young master.

I believe he won’t make things difficult for you,” Ye Tianchen imitated Apo’s manner as he spoke.

“Then I am grateful to you, Manager Apo!” Ling Yuxun said with a smile.

Ye Tianchen felt fortunate in his heart, relieved that he had discovered Apo’s conspiracy and killed him.

Otherwise, that man, who had long been coveting Ling Yuxun, would surely have taken the opportunity to take advantage of her.

Although Yuxun wasn’t foolish and had guessed so things, she was still very naive and unaware of the many dangers involved, so even life-threatening.

As Ye Tianchen followed Ling Yuxun into the single-story house, he found it reminiscent of the traditional courtyards in old Capital City.

There were no tall buildings or luxurious villas, just so very old houses, though clean and tidy.

A light was still on in the central house.

Ling Yuxun pushed the door open and walked in, but as Ye Tianchen approached, two ard guards stopped him and indicated that they would have to search him.

It wasn’t a problem for Ye Tianchen, whose main priority was to protect Ling Yuxun and Ling Shuanghe and to find a way to expose the sches of Ling Yuyang, Ling Xia, and Ling Qing.

If he failed, even if the family successfully relocated their business dostically, the treacherous trio might still cause their deaths.

“Grandpa, why are you up?

Are you feeling better?” Ling Yuxun asked with concern as she entered and saw her grandfather Ling Shuanghe wearing pajamas and sitting on the sofa, looking pale.

“It’s nothing.

Yuxun, don’t wander around too much these days; it’s not safe.

Even within the estate, there are many issues; be cautious!” Ling Shuanghe said, looking at his considerate granddaughter.

“Grandfather, I understand.

Manager Apo has arrived.

He says he can treat illnesses and has co to check on you!” Ling Yuxun began.

“Ah Pi?

He can treat illnesses?

Forget it.

I think it’s your uncle who has sothing to tell .

Let him in!” After pondering for a mont, Ling Shuanghe said with a hint of a cold smile.

After Ye Tianchen entered, he stood in front of Ling Shuanghe.

Ling Shuanghe glanced at Ye Tianchen and then said to Ling Yuxun, “Yuxun, go to my study and get my dicine, and while you’re at it, pour a glass of water.”

“Understood, Grandfather!” Ling Yuxun obediently nodded and headed towards the second floor of the villa.

At this ti, Ye Tianchen sized up Ling Shuanghe, the patriarch of the first major business family of overseas Chinese.

He looked to be around seventy, his hair and beard completely white.

Although he looked a bit pale, the depth in his eyes was profound as if he could see straight through a person, very spirited.

“Ah Pi, what are you doing here?” Ling Shuanghe asked without even glancing at Ye Tianchen.

“Oh, I heard that the old master was sick, so I ca to check on you,” Ye Tianchen quickly said.

“I’m not ill.

Besides, such words may deceive Yuxun but are needless here.

Tell , what did Yu Yang send you for?” Ling Shuanghe asked irritably.

Ye Tianchen was taken aback.

He had intended to clarify his identity, but on second thought, he realized that although Ling Shuanghe was deeply disappointed in his eldest son, Ling Yuyang, he was still his own son, with whom he undoubtedly had affection.

To directly expose Ling Yuyang’s conspiracy might not be believed by Ling Shuanghe.

And currently, as he was assuming the identity of Ah Pi, a man of Ling Yuyang’s, how could Ling Shuanghe possibly trust him?

It seed he would have to continue playing the role of Ah Pi until he t Ling Yuyang and gathered more information to make a plan.

“Old master, the eldest young master heard that you were ill and so sent to have a look,” Ye Tianchen said, with a sly smile that did not quite reach his eyes.

“To have a look, is it really just so simple?” Ling Shuanghe asked sharply, peering at Ye Tianchen.

“This…” Ye Tianchen was at a loss, as he wasn’t Ah Pi and had no contact with Ling Yuyang.

He was unaware of what might be occurring between them, so he was at a loss for words.

With a creak, the living room’s door was pushed open again.

A middle-aged man walked in, around the age of forty or fifty, with a box in hand, looking concernedly at Ling Shuanghe and saying, “Dad, it was I who dispatched Ah Pi to see you.

Hearing that you were sick, I went out of my way to buy ginseng for you to replenish your health!”

Without a doubt, the man who had walked in was Ling Yuyang.

This man was quite tall, dressed in a sharp suit, wearing glasses, and did indeed present the image of a refined individual.

No one could imagine that such a person could be extrely sly and dangerous, to the extent of even plotting against his own father.

If it weren’t for the fact that killing him would be futile, Ye Tianchen would have certainly crushed him as one would a loathso insect.

“Ginseng, do you really need to run out and buy it?

As you know, things are chaotic outside, and there’s an M country governnt’s soft arrest in place.

We have ginseng at ho!” After glaring at Ling Yuyang, Ling Shuanghe still softened his tone, as, after all, this was his son.

A tiger does not devour its cub, and besides, Ling Shuanghe was not a cruel man.

Ling Yuyang stepped forward, glanced at Ye Tianchen, and gestured with his eyes for Ye Tianchen to step aside.

Without speaking, Ye Tianchen did so.

Ling Yuyang then approached Ling Shuanghe and asked with concern, “Dad, it’s good that you’re alright.

Our Ling family cannot afford to lose you, especially during this critical ti!”

“Is that so?

I wonder how many people wish I’d die sooner!” Ling Shuanghe said resentfully.

“Who?

Whoever dares to think that, I will be the first to not let him off,” Ling Yuyang roared angrily.

Ling Shuanghe glanced at Ling Yuyang, thinking that although his eldest son had not turned out as hoped and couldn’t understand his painstaking efforts, he was still filial.

Despite Ling Yuyang disagreeing with relocating the Ling family’s assets back to China, he was still his own son, who had his own thoughts as he grew up.

Fortunately, he was filial, and that was what Ling Shuanghe could only hope for.
