The Millennium Ginseng is the only thing Ye Tianchen could think of to cure Hu Gao. On Earth, there’s no Life-extending Elixir available. Only this Ten Thousand Year Old Ginseng remained, and it escaped from the tomb of the Purple Bamboo Great Saint despite being besieged by two formidable foes, Wuji Taoist and Golden Elder. This showed the spiritual nature of the divine dicine, which was not easily found.
By a twist of fate, or perhaps by the destiny written in the stars, Ye Tianchen searched tirelessly for three days and nights but could not find any trace of the Millennium Ginseng. It was only during a mont of venting his anger that he accidentally dropped the "Dragon Crystal," which resonated with a nearby Dragon Vein. To Ye Tianchen’s surprise, the Millennium Ginseng was found residing within this Dragon Vein.
However, what Ye Tianchen pondered was that the Millennium Ginseng had survived for countless years in the Purple Bamboo Great Saint’s tomb. Generally, it wouldn’t leave the Song Mountain Ancient Martial World where it had beco familiar and adapted to the environnt. Other places would feel unfamiliar and uncomfortable, indicative of the characteristics of plant and animal life.
Having encountered the Millennium Ginseng, Ye Tianchen naturally would not let it slip away, for it was the only divine dicine that could possibly heal Hu Gao’s injuries. Besides this, no alternatives ca to mind. As he reached out to harvest the Millennium Ginseng, he quickly summoned the "Holy Heaven Prison," enveloping both himself and the ginseng within it. This Millennium Ginseng already possessed spiritual wisdom; even Wuji Taoist and Golden Elder could not capture it. Ye Tianchen wasn’t entirely confident in his ability either.
At that mont, the Millennium Ginseng was rooted on a massive "Dragon Wood," seemingly absorbing its essence without noticing Ye Tianchen’s presence. This ginseng was about the thickness of a human arm and carried the shape of a person. Without careful inspection, one might mistake it for a little figure, truly astonishing.
Buzz!
As Ye Tianchen’s right hand touched the Millennium Ginseng, it trembled and swiftly transford into a beam of light, leaping from the Dragon Wood as if startled, darting past Ye Tianchen. As Ye Tianchen attempted to employ his Divine Movent Skill, he realized that the ginseng had already fled to the cave entrance with unbelievable speed, likely beyond what his current skills could match. Just as he tried to get up, Ye Tianchen suddenly recalled the Holy Heaven Prison. He swiftly ford seals with his hands, causing the Chaos Qi within the prison to spread out, enveloping the area. The Millennium Ginseng collided with the Chaos Qi just as it was about to escape the cave.
Ye Tianchen rushed forward and forced the Millennium Ginseng into a corner with no room for escape using a thread of Chaos Qi, reaching out to seize it. However, he hadn’t anticipated a burst of brilliance, a powerful life essence enveloping him. Before Ye Tianchen could react, he saw a woman appear before him, naked save for a few ginseng leaves covering three vital parts of her body.
"Taoist, spare . I don’t want to die!" the woman pleaded, kneeling with tears in her eyes.
"I don’t intend to kill you. I’m compelled to do so as my friend is gravely injured, and I need you to save his life!" Ye Tianchen remarked, looking at the woman.
It turned out Ye Tianchen had driven the Millennium Ginseng into a desperate corner. After years of cultivation, it had awakened its spiritual wisdom, realizing it couldn’t escape the Chaos Qi and resorted to revealing its true form to beg Ye Tianchen.
"Taoist, I’ve cultivated for thousands of years on this Earth, where spiritual energy is scarce, to finally reach a maturity stage. I hope you’ll spare , considering the benevolence inherent in the heavens!" The woman implored pathetically from her knees.
Ye Tianchen, however, wasn’t moved simply because the Millennium Ginseng had transford into a naked woman to implore. But the woman’s words touched him slightly; the notion of heaven’s rcy made Ye Tianchen ponder, wondering if such benevolence truly existed. The heavens showed no kindness, treating all beings as re straw dogs. This world was devoid of rcy for countless cultivators, rife with slaughter and bloodshed. But should he adhere to its rules, continually engaging in killing and confrontations? Ye Tianchen didn’t desire such a fate, and with the ginseng lacking any aggression, killing it would unsettle Ye Tianchen.
"You’ve cultivated for thousands of years to reach maturity?" Ye Tianchen asked incredulously.
"Yes, for us ginseng, it takes thousands of years to mature, similar to a mortal reaching adulthood." The woman nodded affirmatively.
"Thousands of years of lifespan to mature... To reach later stages would require at least tens of thousands more years, right?" Ye Tianchen speculated.
"I don’t know. I’m not a Life-extending Elixir; the genuine ones are immortal." The woman shook her head.
Ye Tianchen froze montarily, feeling like he’d stumbled upon sothing significant. His heart skipped a beat; if Millennium Ginseng required thousands of years akin to human adulthood, then reaching full maturity would an several tens of thousands of lifespan years, surpassing even the lifespan of a Supre Emperor. Moreover, if genuine Life-extending Elixirs are immortal, does it imply eternality truly existed? Could the secrets of immortality be found through such elixirs?
"On Earth, you’re the last divine dicine remaining. Hence, I can’t let you go. I need you to save my friend." Ye Tianchen hesitated, shook his head, and said to the woman.
"Taoist, clearly you’re not a person who eradicates thoroughly. Those past martial artists who pursued wished to swallow whole, while you haven’t done so. May I accompany you to save your friend? Perhaps you needn’t kill ; I truly want to live. After enduring cultivation to this stage, I’ll repay your kindness!" The woman sincerely proposed to Ye Tianchen.
"Alright, you needn’t repay . If saving my friend doesn’t require your life, I won’t kill you. I’ll let you go, if..." Ye Tianchen paused, stopping mid-sentence.
"Rest assured, having given a chance, I’ll do my utmost. If you were a ruthless martial artist, you wouldn’t have allowed to speak, already killing !" The woman understood, nodding.
"Fine, co here. There’s only one day left; my friend can’t wait any longer."
Ye Tianchen withdrew the "Holy Heaven Prison," covering over the Millennium Ginseng. The woman glanced at Ye Tianchen, turning into a beam of light and entering the "Holy Heaven Prison." Without other options, Ye Tianchen wasn’t one to slaughter the innocent. If Hu Gao weren’t critically injured with dying breath, requiring the Millennium Ginseng to save him, Ye Tianchen wouldn’t have wanted to kill it. After all, only this divine dicine remained on the entire Earth, and Life-extending Elixirs shouldn’t belong to any individual but should beco a celestial dicine extending lifespans for all cultivators in the Martial Arts Great World.
Storing the Millennium Ginseng in the "Holy Heaven Prison," Ye Tianchen wasted no ti, swiftly erging from the ground and fully executing the Divine Movent Skill towards the cave where Hu Gao was. He had no idea about Hu Gao’s condition; with a five-day lifespan, it was the last day. Before dawn, if Ye Tianchen couldn’t arrive and utilize the Millennium Ginseng to save Hu Gao, Hu Gao would face annihilation.
At that mont, Hu Gao faltered step by step to the cave entrance, where He Chang stood, indifferent and said, "Ye Tianchen hasn’t returned. Looks like you won’t survive!"
"Having such a friend in life makes death worthwhile; let gaze upon the sunrise one last ti. I regret not knowing my grandfather’s murderer and can’t avenge him. It leaves with an unfulfilled longing!" Hu Gao said begrudgingly.
"Don’t dwell on it. This enemy is beyond your capability; even with a century of cultivation, you’re no match. Depart quietly!" He Chang maintained the sa tone.
Hu Gao chuckled bitterly, forcibly supporting himself up. Staring at the faintly lightened sky with a trace of unfulfilled desire and lancholy in his eyes, he then laughed amid his sorrow. "In my life, I’ve traversed the Ancient Martial World, fearing neither heaven nor earth. Beloved by people, a heartthrob for countless beautiful girls, now my life nears its end. Before my last breath, I want to shout: Who dares to be more handso than ..."
Upon hearing Hu Gao’s statent, He Chang nearly fell over. No one would expect such words from soone facing death, ironically amusing yet frustrating, wishing to give him a sound beating—a true unique character among exceptional fighters.
Pfft!
Hu Gao spat out blood, kneeling halfway on the ground, showing a bitter smile saying, "Damn it, a real man should die standing. At least I’ll die kneeling, not completely falling..."
Before finishing his bold words, darkness enveloped Hu Gao’s vision as he felt his dantian shatter, and he fell to the ground...(To be continued.
