Black Jinkang seed to not quite trust Yang Xiao, saying:
"Hehe, human, you can’t trick Jinkang."
"I’m not tricking you, definitely not tricking you. I swear on my integrity."
Yang Xiao firmly patted his chest.
"Hehe,"
Black Jinkang suddenly giggled happily like a fool.
Yang Xiao felt that this chimpanzee might really have the intelligence of a little child.
"Black Jinkang, what do you need my help with?"
The chimpanzee pointed to the valley and said:
"Hehe, let’s go, human."
Yang Xiao hesitated for a mont, then lifted his foot to walk into the valley, with the chimpanzee trailing behind him.
Yang Xiao felt that the chimpanzee might genuinely need his help. As he followed behind, the chimp showed not the slightest hint of a killing aura, allowing Yang Xiao to relax, the pressure from behind almost entirely gone.
Yang Xiao led the way, the chimpanzee followed behind. This ti, Yang Xiao walked quite a distance without encountering any Mutant Monsters, guessing that the monsters in the valley had long fled upon sensing Black Jinkang’s presence.
Could it be that this chimpanzee was the Lord of the valley?
Continuing forward for about 3 kiloters, Yang Xiao arrived at a forest that he had already seen from afar when he previously went with Zhi Ruo and others to hunt Monsters.
The valley was about 2 kiloters wide, and this forest covered almost the entire valley. Standing in front of the forest, Yang Xiao turned back to look at the chimpanzee.
"Black Jinkang, is there no way through?"
Black Jinkang chuckled, then whispered:
"Shh, be quiet!"
Yang Xiao: "..."
The chimpanzee led the way into the forest, and Yang Xiao closely followed.
Walking through the forest, Yang Xiao noticed the Mutant Monsters avoid and scatter in fear, stirring a rustling sound throughout.
After roughly half an hour, Yang Xiao saw a light ahead and stepped out of the forest. Ahead was a small river; the interior of the valley was alive with birdsong and floral fragrances, a truly beautiful environnt.
Looking ahead, he still couldn’t see the end of the valley.
"Black Jinkang, where are we heading to?"
The chimpanzee pointed a finger ahead, to a massive cave about a hundred ters away.
Yang Xiao, full of curiosity, followed Black Jinkang into the cave.
After entering the cave, Black Jinkang sat down, casually picked up several unknown fruits from the ground, and handed them to Yang Xiao:
"Human, eat."
Taking the fruits, Yang Xiao said:
"Aren’t you supposed to need my help with sothing?"
"Not urgent, tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?"
Yang Xiao looked at the chimpanzee, who nodded in confirmation.
"Can you tell what it’s about?"
"Tomorrow."
Yang Xiao thought to himself, this chimpanzee is really playing coy, creating such a mysterious air. He stopped asking and, looking at the fruits in his hand with a scent of the chimpanzee’s palm, he said disdainfully:
"They’re too dirty!"
Black Jinkang glanced at his massive palm, chuckled, and said, "You wait for ," then left the cave.
Yang Xiao stood at the edge of the cave, watching as Black Jinkang leapt tens of ters into the distance, then continued bounding into the forest.
In a mont, Yang Xiao heard a scream, and then saw Black Jinkang leap out of the forest back to the cave entrance, bringing a five-ter-long Unicorn to the ground.
Black Jinkang grabbed one of the unicorn’s legs, and with a tearing sound, ripped it right off, imdiately drenching the area in blood.
The Unicorn was not yet dead, and letting out a scream as its leg was violently torn off, it wailed pitifully.
The chimpanzee’s fist smashed directly onto the Unicorn’s head, exploding the entire head and making Yang Xiao’s heart tremble with fear.
The chimpanzee handed the bloody horse leg over to Yang Xiao,
"Human, eat!"
Yang Xiao stared at the chimpanzee, bewildered, and then laughed,
"It’s too bloody. I have fire. How about we roast and eat it?"
"Fire?"
The chimpanzee’s eyes widened.
Yang Xiao nodded and said,
"Go and fetch so branches to make a fire."
No sooner had he finished speaking than the chimpanzee had leaped a hundred ters away, heading toward the nearby forest.
With a loud crash, the chimpanzee snapped off a large tree and, carrying the entire tree, ran back and tossed it in front of the cave,
"Here, branches."
Yang Xiao wanted to say that these were big trees, not branches, but he held his tongue. To the chimpanzee, these trees were nothing more than branches, insignificant.
Yang Xiao asked the chimpanzee to break off the branches from the tree trunk and pile them up.
The chimpanzee, seeming excited about the idea of making a fire and roasting at, took the tree trunk and stripped the branches off with his huge hands, piling them up and looking to Yang Xiao.
Yang Xiao took a lighter from his backpack and lit the branches. Monts later, a fierce fire blazed up.
The chimpanzee, looking at the burning flas, exclaid excitedly,
"Fire, fire, fire!"
He repeated the word "fire" three tis.
Yang Xiao couldn’t be bothered with the fool, and quickly made a simple spit with the branches, skewering a big leg of the Unicorn and setting it over the fire to roast.
The chimpanzee naturally imitated Yang Xiao, tearing off another Unicorn leg and putting it on the fire to grill.
Soon after, the aroma of roasting at filled the air.
The chimpanzee sniffed, grinned "hehe," and took a half-cooked leg of at to his mouth, biting down hard without fear of the heat, and while eating, said to Yang Xiao,
"Tasty, human, eat!"
"Could you stop calling ’human’ every ti? I can’t represent all of humanity; my na is Yang Xiao."
"Yang... Xiao?"
The chimpanzee looked at Yang Xiao.
Yang Xiao didn’t care if its pronunciation was correct; it sounded better than ’human,’ so he nodded.
"I’ll call you Black Jinkang, and you call Yang Xiao, got it!"
"Hehe, ok, human, Yang Xiao."
Yang Xiao rolled his eyes at the chimpanzee, took out so salt from his backpack, sprinkled a bit on the cooked at and then cut off a slice of the at with his sword, placing it in his mouth to slowly chew.
This freshly roasted at was indeed delicious.
The chimpanzee suddenly stopped eating and looked at the salt shaker in front of Yang Xiao.
Yang Xiao had no choice but to pick up the salt shaker, sprinkled a few shakes on its grilled at, and then holding the shaker, he said,
"Salt!"
"Smoke?"
Yang Xiao didn’t bother to correct the chimpanzee’s pronunciation. He wasn’t a beast tar after all, and he’d look for a chance to escape tomorrow.
The chimpanzee took a bite of the salted roast at, and as soon as it got a taste, its expression brightened, its huge eyes bulging wide.
"Hehe, tasty, human, Yang Xiao!"
"Don’t call ’human’ anymore, OK?"
Yang Xiao looked at the chimpanzee, really wanting to slap it, if he could actually beat it.
"Hehe, ok, Yang Xiao."
The chimpanzee said, taking several more bites of at, eating up all the parts that had salt on them, then looking at the salt shaker in front of Yang Xiao with longing eyes.
