Resting for a night, the next day, Yang Xiao, the Wildman King, Ah Chun the Chief, Flying Wolf, and several dozen wildman followers set out. Guided by the Flying Wolf, they embarked on the search for that mysterious cave.
All of them were Emperor Level Evolvers, utilizing the Floating Flight Technique, passing over several mountaintops, they quickly arrived at the place where the Flying Wolf felt disoriented.
The area was shrouded in thick fog that never dispersed, truly a place where one could easily lose their way.
Yang Xiao asked:
"Flying Wolf, do you have any mories of this place?"
After a mont of silence, Flying Wolf answered:
"I rember this place, but I don't know which way to go; the fog is too dense here, blocking the view."
"You don't know the direction, right?"
Flying Wolf nodded.
"Then think back carefully, when you reached this place initially, where was the sun?"
"It was early morning; there was no sun."
Yang Xiao: "..."
"Were there any stars?"
"No."
"Are there any other landmarks that could serve as a reference?"
After pondering, Flying Wolf shook his head.
"I had co out of the forest at that ti, surrounded by trees and dense fog. I only made a simple note of it, convinced I had rembered correctly, but after searching back and forth here several tis, even I got confused and couldn't find a way out."
Ah Chun the Chief said:
"We organized hundreds of people to search the mountain together but found nothing even when we reached the mountaintop."
Normally, wildn live in the forest all year round and have stronger mory capabilities regarding forest geography. If Flying Wolf didn't misrember, then he must be lying on purpose.
However, from the looks of it, Flying Wolf doesn't seem to be lying; if he wanted to lie, there was no need to reveal this secret in the first place.
The Wildman King looked at Yang Xiao and said:
"Do you have any ideas?"
After pondering for a mont, since they could not find the direction, Yang Xiao could only inquire if there were any distinctive features near the cave.
"Flying Wolf, how long did you stay in the cave?"
"A day and a night."
"What were the characteristics of the environnt outside the cave?"
"Nothing special, there was a small platform outside the cave entrance, surrounded by tall trees. If you don't look carefully, the entrance is covered by the trees."
"Was there water nearby?"
"Think carefully, was there the sound of a stream? Since the wildman ancestors lived there for a long ti, there should be water sources nearby."
After so thought, Flying Wolf nodded and said:
"In the middle of the night, I seed to have faintly heard the sound of flowing water. If there's a stream, it must be at a certain distance from the cave."
"How many streams are there on this mountain?"
Ah Chun chid in:
"This area is a continuous range of undulating mountains. Speaking of streams, there are at least dozens of them. Searching every stream like this would be a very strenuous task."
The Wildman King then spoke:
"It is said that the ancestor died in a hurry and left behind a phrase before his tentative departure, 'Sunrise in the east, by the side of water,'
But this phrase, we could never decipher. I rember many years ago, the wildman tribes searched through the water sources in the mountains, still to no avail."
"Sunrise in the east, by the side of water?"
Yang Xiao was stunned and stood in mid-air, gazing into the distance, where the sun rose above the mountain peaks, and all around was a sea of clouds.
"Just this phrase? Is there nothing else?"
The Wildman King laughed and said:
"I suspect that this phrase wasn't even said by that ancestor but rather casually spread by later generations, or perhaps the ancestor's words were distorted in transmission."
"Since we are here, let's continue to search, perhaps there will be a miracle."
Ah Guan chuckled.
So, the group flew between towering mountains, looking around as if admiring flowers, achieving nothing.
Flying Wolf even took Yang Xiao and others to several creeks, flying up along them and searching both banks.
At the end of the day, they found nothing.
As evening ca, everyone grew tired from the day's efforts and returned to the valley of the Wildman tribe to rest.
At night, there was a campfire welco banquet. More than a thousand people from Ah Guan's tribe surrounded about a dozen campfires, barbecuing enthusiastically and creating a lively atmosphere.
Midway through the al, Yang Xiao urgently needed to urinate. Unaccustod to relieving himself anywhere like the Wildn, he walked a good distance away to a more secluded spot.
Just as he was about to relieve himself, he heard a moaning noise in the distance and thought to himself with amusent that the Wildn really did make it easy for themselves, taking any opportune place to get down to business.
Yang Xiao, not wanting to intrude, stood quietly under a big tree.
Monts later, after the passionate interlude of the Wildman couple had co to an end, he heard the woman ask:
"Ah Yong, is that old man really the King of the Wildn?"
"Of course."
"If he's the King of the Wildn, why didn't Great Chief Ah Guan tell him the real location of the cave?"
Yang Xiao, standing in the darkness, felt his heart skip a beat.
"Shh, keep it down. You mustn't blabber about this, they must not find out, or the Great Chief will kill you."
"What's there to fear? We're here, those two old n are by the campfire eating barbecue."
"Sigh, Great Chief Ah Guan said that since we discovered this cave, it must be utilized by our tribe first. Once we've fully researched it and enhanced our Genetic Evolution Ability, our tribe will dominate Purple Origin Star."
"Sigh, stop boasting, dominate Purple Origin Star... we've already been driven deep into the mountains by the Witch Star people; it's already tough enough just to survive."
"What do you won know? You have to have grand ambitions, get it?"
"Heehee, I just love how you bluff, it's so adorable. Let's do it again, I want more..."
Weird moaning sounds arose once again from the jungle.
Yang Xiao employed his Floating Flight Technique, hovering dozens of centiters above the ground, and silently moved away.
Yang Xiao found a different spot to urinate and then returned to the campfire. He picked up a bowl of alcohol and said to Ah Guan and Flying Wolf among others:
"Great Chief Ah Guan, you guys have really worked hard today. This one's for you."
"Ha ha, no worries, it was a trivial matter. It's just a pity we couldn't find that cave. Well, no matter, we'll continue the search tomorrow."
Yang Xiao chuckled:
"Let's not bother. I reckon it's just a legend. Even if we found the cave, it might not have any value. Anyway, we just ca out of curiosity. It doesn't really matter whether we find it or not."
The King of the Wildn was taken aback, glancing at Yang Xiao, and thought to himself, how did this kid change so completely just after going for a pee?
For the King of the Wildn, finding the legendary cave was not important; he had long given up hope on his own life.
Yang Xiao was a young man, full of fighting spirit. The King was supporting Yang Xiao by joining him on this journey, ready to help him with whatever he could.
The King of the Wildn chuckled:
"So you're giving up just like that?"
Yang Xiao replied with a smile:
"Great Chief Ah Guan and the people of the tribe have searched dozens of tis without success. It's probably not sothing we can find in a short ti. Instead of wasting ti here, it might be better to go back to Wildman Valley and focus on our cultivation."
Ah Guan, upon hearing this, said:
"Hmm, Young Master Yang, I agree with you. Rest assured, if we find that cave in the future, we'll definitely send soone to inform you."
"Good, then I'll express my thanks in advance to Great Chief Ah Guan. Cheers!"
"Cheers!"
...
A quiet night passed, and the next morning, Yang Xiao and the King of the Wildn boarded the spaceship and left the valley, disappearing into the sky.
Watching the departing spaceship, Ah Guan sighed deeply,
"Ah, this is the twenty-sixth group to co in search of that cave. I hope it's the last."
Flying Wolf inquired:
"Great Chief, why didn't you tell the King of the Wildn?"
