Inside the spacious apartnt, Li Jinshu, just back from a work dinner, was surprised to find her mother, Gong iping, waiting at her door.
Her expression shifted. She walked over and asked, "Mom, what are you doing here?"
"What am I doing here?"
Gong iping said angrily, "I’m here to find you, of course. Don’t think you can hide from just because you moved."
"Co on, let’s go find sowhere else to talk."
"What? Gotten too big for your britches? You won’t even let your own mother in the house?"
Gong iping raised her voice. "That’s right, you’re rich now, living in a fancy place like this. You’re ashad of your mother, aren’t you?
It’s a disgrace! Living in such a nice place and still claiming you have no money."
"Mom."
Li Jinshu said, exasperated, "Please don’t make a scene here. This isn’t my apartnt, it’s my friend’s."

Gong iping retorted furiously, "Your father and I paid for your education from the day you were born; we raised you to be successful.
Now that you’re in the city making money and living the good life, you’ve decided to just ignore whether we live or die, is that it?"
"How am I ignoring you?"
Li Jinshu shot back, furious. "Is the living allowance I send you every month not enough?
You said your house was too small, so fine, I gave you the down paynt I was saving for my own place to get you a bigger one, and I’m still paying the mortgage.
But what about my younger brother?
He’s perfectly able-bodied, but instead of getting a job, he just freeloads off you at ho. You don’t say a word; you just enable him.
