820: Chapter 830: The Unfinished Sweater!

(3rd update) 820: Chapter 830: The Unfinished Sweater!

(3rd update) The black-robed figure was Hu Ge!

At this mont, the entire Dragon Group of Xuan Country was in an uproar.

Peng Yuan, the elder general, imdiately initiated the highest-level eting.

According to the reports from the Dragon Group staff, that person actually knew the locations of the Dragon Group’s surveillance caras.

This was absolutely not a normal individual and must be monitored diligently.

Under no circumstances could this person act recklessly in China because he was undoubtedly an Ability User.

A person who could gather light with their fingertips was certainly a stronger being.

It wasn’t impossible that they were from the Black List.

As everyone knew, after Tang Zhong beca number one on the Black List, the others on the list would surely be dissatisfied, wanting to challenge Tang Zhong properly.

This ti, it seed that more than half of the Dragon Group had been mobilized.

ng Wuxiang led his team to guard the northwest.

Vermilion Bird led her team to guard the southwest.

White Tiger secured the northeast.

And one of the four Protectors, Xuan Wu, was stationed along the coastal regions, ensuring that this person could not act recklessly.

anwhile, Li Linglong took his people to guard Xuanjing City.

They had to act imdiately, with absolutely no room for error.

Thus, nearly everyone set off without delay.

Li Linglong, sitting in a jeep, started patrolling Xuanjing City with his team.

As the one guarding Xuanjing City, he remained calm under the brilliant sun, not showing a hint of tension.

In his view, Xuanjing City was the safest place.

No one could possibly breach any of the other checkpoints.

Li Linglong also understood Peng Yuan’s intentions.

Compared to others, his abilities were far inferior, so staying in Xuanjing City was undoubtedly a favorable task.

Inside the vehicle.

Li Linglong wandered around with several Dragon Group mbers.

But being with these individuals made him feel utterly uncomfortable.

“Stop the car!”

The Dragon Group mber driving quickly braked the vehicle and nervously asked Li Linglong, “Major General Li, is sothing wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong.

You can get off the car now!” Li Linglong replied.

“What?

But we’re supposed to accompany Major General Li to guard Xuanjing City!” exclaid the driver.

“Are you stupid?

This is Xuanjing City!

Who’s bold enough to co here?

There’s absolutely no need to guard this place!” Li Linglong retorted.

When it ca to Xuanjing City’s safety, the other Dragon Group mbers couldn’t refute him.

It did seem true—no matter how chaotic other places beca, this area remained unaffected.

The team understood.

“Alright then, Major General Li, take care!”

Several Dragon Group mbers climbed out of the vehicle and left.

“Good!” Li Linglong moved to the driver’s seat, pressed down on the gas pedal, and sped away with the car.

Being around those people had nearly suffocated him.

He wanted to find soone to hang out with, but it seed Tang Zhong had gone to the Southern Border.

“I wonder if that guy will really find that rumored spring in the Southern Border?”

Li Linglong considered visiting the Tang Family residence.

But he restrained himself, recalling Jiang Weiwei, and decided against it.

If he went and Jiang Weiwei called Tang Zhong in front of him again, wouldn’t he just be humiliating himself?

He’d had enough of that feeling.

Suddenly, his expression darkened.

A flash of black robe passed by his car.

Li Linglong imdiately narrowed his eyes, sensing a dangerous aura.

When he turned to look, however, the black figure had vanished into thin air.

Li Linglong couldn’t afford to linger.

Trusting his instincts, he knew he hadn’t been mistaken earlier.

He slamd the gas pedal and turned the steering wheel sharply in the direction the shadow had headed.

Although Li Linglong wasn’t certain what lay in that direction, he was aware that the Tang Family’s old residence was there!

anwhile, at the Tang Family residence.

A servant holding a broom finished sweeping the courtyard and then turned to walk inside.

Suddenly, a black figure erged like a phantom, moving steadily forward.

It stopped in front of the Tang Family’s gates, raised its head, and stared at the placard above, its eyes shimring faintly.

“The Tang Family?

That Tang Zhong’s ho?” Hu Ge sneered.

The servant noticed Hu Ge’s sudden appearance and was startled.

He hadn’t seen anyone monts ago—how could soone suddenly be standing here?

However, the servants of the Tang Family were amiable.

Seeing Hu Ge’s dusty black robe, they assud he was a beggar.

Lately, many beggars had co to the Tang Family.

Miss Jiang had instructed that any beggar who ca should be given a bowl of rice.

The servant was about to fetch food for the figure.

But Hu Ge abruptly spoke up, “Is this Tang Zhong’s ho?”

The servant paused for a mont, then smiled and replied, “Yes!”

“Perfect,” Hu Ge sneered.

“Perfect for what?” the servant asked.

“Perfect for slaughter,” Hu Ge grinned coldly.

Then he swung his sleeve at the servant.

The servant was flung across the courtyard, landing on the ground in a bloody ss, killed instantly.

Hu Ge removed his black robe, exposing his face—white hair, a withered visage.

He glanced at the Tang Family’s old residence and said, “Tang Zhong, you killed my grandson Adam.

Now I will massacre your entire family!”

Without hesitation, he stepped forward.

With every step he took, the very ground trembled.

He roared explosively as he advanced.

“Tang Zhong, co out to face !”

His thunderous voice shook the Tang Family residence, shattering all the glass.

The sound of breaking glass filled the air.

Inside the old residence.

Jiang Weiwei sat silently within her boudoir.

Ever since Tang Zhong had left with Li Chuwen, she hadn’t seen anyone—not even Tang Xinglou and his family.

She had arranged for them to join a travel agency, claiming she needed a long stay at ho.

Now, apart from the servants, there were no other residents in the Tang Family.

In her boudoir, Jiang Weiwei sat there motionless, dressed in her nightgown.

Her complexion was deathly pale, but the most striking feature was that her veins had turned blue, and her body was beginning to stiffen.

“Am I going to die?” Jiang Weiwei murmured to herself.

Despite this, her hands continued working with needle and thread.

She was knitting a sweater—a man’s sweater!

However, it was incomplete.

“Autumn is approaching.

If I leave now, as the chill of autumn sets in, Brother Tang will surely feel cold.

If a sweater appears before him at the start of autumn, then he won’t feel cold, right?” Jiang Weiwei murmured.

“Too bad… I might not be able to see Brother Tang wearing the sweater,” she whispered, her eyes turning red with emotion.

She spoke again, her voice cracking, “He’ll surely look very handso in it, won’t he?”

By now, her arm seed frozen, as if encased in ice, growing increasingly stiff.

The knitting was close to completion, though.

“No… I have to finish it!”

Jiang Weiwei gritted her teeth, enduring the excruciating pain as she guided the needle and thread—just a few stitches away.

She refused to surrender.

At that mont, her hands turned bluer, growing even stiffer.

“No… please don’t…” she cried out.

Her arm wouldn’t respond anymore, stiffening uncontrollably.

She panicked and scread.

But her arm wouldn’t listen.

It continued stiffening.

She tried switching to her left hand, but it too was frozen, entirely immovable.

“I can’t give up.

I have to finish the sweater.

Brother Tang will be cold otherwise!” Jiang Weiwei was growing desperate.

She sprawled on the bed and tried using her teeth to bite down on the needle and complete the last few stitches.

But the needle was too large, and her teeth were starting to stiffen too.

“No!

Don’t!

I must finish the sweater.

Please, don’t let freeze.

Brother Tang will be cold otherwise!” Jiang Weiwei begged as tears stread down her face.

She cried profusely, her face drenched in tears.

She feared that if she left, Brother Tang would forget her.

She wanted to make a sweater so that every autumn, when it got chilly, Brother Tang might rember her.

Even if Brother Tang soday liked soone else, perhaps he’d still recall her when he saw the sweater.

She held onto hope and fought with determination.

This was a woman’s selfish love, a plea to be rembered if they couldn’t be together.

Because forgetting soone happens far too quickly.

Jiang Weiwei didn’t want that.

She truly loved Tang Zhong, loved the vision he painted for her.

She wanted to live a happy life with him.

But it seed she was about to get off the train prematurely.

Finally, Jiang Weiwei bit down on the knitting needle.

The needle was large, and she engaged every muscle in her stiffening face to maneuver it.

“Just a little more, just a little more!” Jiang Weiwei’s entire focus was on the sweater.

Holding the needle in her mouth, she prepared to thread it through the sweater—this was the final step.

But then, a deafening explosion suddenly erupted and shook the air.

The glass in her room shattered completely, the imnse soundwave bombarded her eardrums.

In that mont, the knitting needles she’d gripped with her teeth slipped free, clattering to the floor, bouncing a few tis before coming to rest.

The needles had fallen, but Jiang Weiwei’s heart sank into an abyss.

Her teeth had stiffened completely—she could no longer hold the needles, leaving the final step of the sweater forever unfinished.

With a heart-wrenching cry, Jiang Weiwei broke down in tears, overwheld by despair!

Her sobs were piercingly sorrowful, more devastating than ever before.
