(5 updates) 822: Chapter 832: Helpless!

(5 updates) Tang Zhong didn’t know why he suddenly started crying.

Out of nowhere, tears stread uncontrollably down his face, and his heart ached unbearably.

Li Chuwen had decided to tell Tang Zhong everything.

But seeing him burst into tears, she froze.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“I’m fine!” Tang Zhong waved his hand dismissively.

“Just tell , what is it you want to say?”

“What I have to say… it’s about Weiwei!” Li Chuwen began hesitantly.

“Weiwei?

What about her?” The mont Tang Zhong heard Weiwei’s na, he instinctively smiled.

But this ti, for so reason, no matter how hard he tried, that smile wouldn’t co.

Instead, his face twisted with grief, and tears continued to flow without end.

“Actually, Weiwei has been hiding sothing from you!” said Li Chuwen after a pause.

“What is it?” Tang Zhong leaned forward, desperate to know more.

“She’s sick… very sick,” Li Chuwen admitted, her voice heavy with worry.

“What?!” Tang Zhong’s composure shattered.

His voice trembled as he pressed her, “What’s wrong with her?

Tell , quickly!”

Even as he spoke, tears refused to stop spilling from his eyes.

“She faints, over and over again.

At first, she shrugged it off as nothing.

But when it kept happening and got worse, she couldn’t ignore it anymore.

She took to see a doctor.

The doctor said everything was fine.

But then the fainting turned into freezing cold spells.

Her whole body…

it was like she had been plunged into an icebox.

And yet, the doctors still said there was nothing wrong with her,” Li Chuwen explained, her own concern spilling into her words.

Tang Zhong was frozen, stunned by her confession.

He rembered the fainting spells.

Back then, he thought Jiang Weiwei was just overworked and needed rest—nothing more.

He had no idea it was this serious.

He had no idea about the cold, the change in her body.

He had known nothing at all.

Every ti he’d co ho, all he’d see was Weiwei—bubbly, lively, her usual warm self.

There was no trace of anything amiss.

To think that all of it had been an act…

This realization knotted Tang Zhong’s chest with despair.

“The doctors couldn’t figure out Weiwei’s illness.

She…

she almost understood that it ant her condition was terminal.

But even so, she didn’t give up.

You know how so people face cancer with laughter and sotis recover against all odds?

Except, that’s not what happened to her.

Her symptoms only got worse.

Whenever we spoke, she’d talk to about you, Tang Zhong.

About what you’d do if she wasn’t around anymore.

Even while facing death, her heart was with you.

And every ti, she’d make promise not to tell you.

She was so scared that it would break you,” Li Chuwen said with trembling earnestness.

Tang Zhong’s grief deepened unbearably as he spoke through clenched teeth.

“She’s such a fool.

Such an absolute fool.

Without her, I’m the one who’s truly broken.”

“Do you know what else she did?

As your girlfriend, she started looking for soone to replace herself in your life.

She believed she could find the right woman, soone to love you and take care of you,” Li Chuwen murmured.

“Silly girl…” Tang Zhong lowered his head, struggling to breathe through the ache.

“That’s why she sought out.

When my family faced trouble, and she asked you to help so eagerly, I didn’t understand why at first.

But now I know—she was trying to push you and together.

She held back so much while silently enduring her own suffering.

I can’t hold it in anymore, Tang Zhong.

Weiwei didn’t deserve this.

You deserve to know the truth.

Do you know why she asked for your help with such a bright smile?

It’s because her condition is already so serious.

Her blood vessels are nearly frozen solid.

Her hands are stiff, almost immobile.

But even so, she knitted you a sweater because she was afraid you’d catch a chill in the coming autumn,” Li Chuwen continued, her eyes filling with tears.

“I…

I have to find her!” Tang Zhong shouted, his voice hoarse with desperation.

No matter what illness Weiwei had, Tang Zhong was determined to save her.

He couldn’t lose her—losing Weiwei ant losing everything he cared about in the world!

He pulled out his phone and feverishly searched for Weiwei’s number.

Once he found it, he dialed imdiately.

Brrr.

Brrr.

After a few agonizing seconds, the call connected.

“Weiwei, you little fool!” Tang Zhong exclaid the mont the line opened.

But no reply ca from Weiwei.

Instead, a man’s voice resonated through the speaker: “You must be Tang Zhong.”

Tang Zhong’s expression darkened instantly.

“Who are you?

How do you have Weiwei’s phone?”

A wave of dread washed over him.

It was Hu Gego’s voice.

“Who I am doesn’t matter,” Hu Gego sneered.

“What you need to know is that you killed Adam.

And now I’m going to kill you.

But first, I’ll take your woman from you, so you can taste the pain of losing soone you love.”

With that, the line went dead.

Tang Zhong felt as though a thunderclap had struck his mind.

His soul left his body for a mont.

Weiwei had always been at ho.

But now—now her phone was in another man’s hands?

The man had spoken so casually about murder.

Could it be…

Weiwei was already…

“No…

no, that’s impossible!” Tang Zhong roared, on the brink of madness.

Weiwei had sacrificed so much for him.

If she was really gone, Tang Zhong would collapse under the devastation.

“I need to go back!

To Xuanjing City!

I have to find her…” he mumbled frantically.

Without wasting another mont, Tang Zhong sprinted at full speed, his blood power surging as he propelled himself forward.

He had to get back to Xuanjing City as quickly as possible.

The potency of his blood power pushed him beyond human limitations, allowing him to travel astonishingly fast.

And now, he needed every ounce of it.

He ran and ran.

His shoes wore out, but he pressed on.

His sole focus was reaching his destination.

He didn’t know how long he had been running.

Exhaustion didn’t matter.

There was only one na echoing in his mind—Weiwei.

As long as he could see her, even for a brief mont, it would be enough.

“Weiwei, you have to wait for !”

Ti slipped past him like flowing water.

He crossed vast swaths of Xuan Country and finally reached Xuanjing City.

Rushing past blocks and buildings, he headed straight toward the Tang Family estate.

His heart pounded so hard it felt like it might burst.

All he prayed for was that Weiwei was still alive.

But when he reached the Tang Family gates and beheld the scene ahead, his legs nearly gave out.

Parked outside the estate were fire trucks, police cars, and several Dragon Group vehicles.

A crowd had gathered, murmuring grimly.

“What a tragedy for the Tang Family.

I heard the servants inside were all killed!”

“Yeah, and I heard the lady of the house was murdered, too.

Just awful.

Whoever did this is a monster!”

Killed.

The word rang in Tang Zhong’s ears like a death knell.

He couldn’t believe it.

He wouldn’t believe it.

All he could picture was Weiwei’s face in his mind.

He charged forward.

The firefighters and police tried to stop him, but Tang Zhong forced his way through.

What greeted him inside the courtyard was chaos.

Corpses littered the ground—housekeepers, maids, staff.

It was a massacre.

“Weiwei!

Weiwei!” Tang Zhong shouted desperately.

Just then, two stretchers were carried out by dical personnel.

On them lay Li Linglong and another man known as Monkey.

Both were groaning, their faces twisted with pain.

Tang Zhong rushed over imdiately.

Li Linglong looked disheveled and broken.

But the mont he saw Tang Zhong, his cries ceased, replaced with silence.

“Where is Weiwei?!” Tang Zhong bellowed.

Li Linglong remained mute, his eyes filled with sorrow.

Tang Zhong turned abruptly to Monkey.

“What about Weiwei?

Where is she?”

Monkey hung his head low, not daring to et Tang Zhong’s gaze.

“Tell , where is she?!” Tang Zhong’s screaming was part anguish, part desperation.

He couldn’t even tell if he was crying anymore.

Both n knew exactly what Weiwei represented to Tang Zhong.

They didn’t have the heart to tell him the truth, terrified it would destroy him.

“Fine!

If you won’t say it, I’ll go see for myself!” Tang Zhong declared.

He stord toward the inner rooms.

Deep inside, he was clinging to a shred of hope—that Weiwei would appear, smiling as she always did, calling him “Brother Tang.”

In his heart, he was screaming her na, over and over, as he tore through the chaos, dodging bodies and people alike, fervently searching for her shadow.

But then, he saw it.

Not far ahead, sprawled motionless on the ground, was a body.

A face he recognized as if it were a part of his very soul.

It couldn’t be anyone but Jiang Weiwei.

Tang Zhong froze.

All strength left his limbs.

He couldn’t comprehend what his eyes were telling him.

“Weiwei…

she’s really gone!”

His knees gave out beneath him, and he collapsed onto the ground.

In that mont, Tang Zhong felt a profound, suffocating helplessness he had never known before.
