"Damn it, what’s going on?"
Seeing the hillside covered in wolves, Lin Feng gasped.
Could it be that these creatures also ca to welco , the so-called "Wolf King"? That’s impossible!
Everyone knew that wolves were among the best pack hunters in the world. One or two wolves weren’t scary, but hundreds of them? Their collective attack power was comparable to a ferocious army!

They both moved very slowly, terrified that any sudden movent would attract the attention of the keen-sensed wolves.

Just then, for so reason, the wolf pack on the hillside suddenly let out a piercing cry, making Lin Feng, who was retreating, jump, his heart pounding in his chest.

Just as they were about to get clear, Ye Lin, while backing up, suddenly felt sothing soft under her foot. She glanced down and saw—a giant toad!

"Shhh!" Lin Feng hissed, gesturing for silence, but he couldn’t stop Ye Lin from speaking.

"What are you standing there gawking for?" Lin Feng grew frantic. "You want to be a snack for these wolves? Let’s go!" Seeing Ye Lin staring blankly, he grabbed her hand and pulled her into a run.

Behind them, a series of howls erupted from the wolf pack. Then, the wolves, having apparently spotted the two, began to move slowly in their direction.
The pair ran faster and faster. The wolf pack, about a hundred ters behind, also gradually picked up speed, chasing after them!
"Lin Feng, I’m so sorry..." Ye Lin said guiltily as they ran.

With that, they both sped up considerably.
However, they had been trekking through the forest on foot for the better part of the day, and both were carrying backpacks. How could they possibly outrun ferocious wild wolves?
The distance between them and the wolf pack was shrinking rapidly.
Damn it, no way! Am I really going to be the wolves’ dinner tonight? Please, no... Lin Feng thought about his possible demise. He had never imagined that one day he would be torn apart, dismbered, and eaten by wild wolves. The very thought made him shudder with revulsion.

Five ters! The massive wild wolf at the head of the pack was now a re five ters away from them!

"Ye Lin, don’t overthink it! Let’s speed up and jump straight into the pond! Swim far out! Those wild wolves probably won’t follow us into the water!" Lin Feng exclaid, elated.
As long as they jumped into the pond before the wild wolves caught up, they would be safe!
At this critical mont, both of them accelerated with all their might. When they were just a ter from the pond, Lin Feng saw Ye Lin hesitate. Greatly alard, he glanced back—the foremost wild wolf was practically snapping at his rear!
"Don’t hesitate! Jump!" In his urgency, Lin Feng fiercely grabbed Ye Lin’s hand and, using the montum, pulled her along as they both leaped into the pond.
HOWL! HOWL!
The wild wolves behind them had caught up, so close they could even sll Lin Feng. But they were just a step too late to bite him. The massive wild wolf, which looked like the Wolf King, lunged forward two steps, its front paws splashing into the pond. However, it quickly recoiled, roaring in fury at the water!
Behind them, the air was instantly filled with continuous, terrifying wolf howls!
Having leaped three or four ters out into the pond, Lin Feng finally struggled to break the surface, gasping for breath.
"Damn, this is tougher than I thought..."

He listened intently and saw ripples still spreading less than two ters away from him. He instantly confird that Ye Lin was there; she had just sunk!
Without a second thought, Lin Feng unhesitatingly shrugged off the backpack, which weighed dozens of pounds. He no longer cared how much cash was inside. It had to be abandoned now; otherwise, carrying such a heavy load, not only would he be unable to save her, but he would likely lose his own life as well!
