The sound of footsteps drew closer. From within the plastic barrel, Lin Feng could even feel the beam of a flashlight sweeping over it.
Damn it, I’ve never felt so humiliated before! Hiding in a barrel from a bunch of nobodies...
Lin Feng was furious. If it weren’t for needing to avoid alerting the enemy and exposing my identity, I wouldn’t bother hiding. These few security guards? I could take them out one by one, like child’s play, in under two minutes flat. But those are just thoughts. After all, didn’t I co to the Emperor Dragon Group for the mission?
At this mont, Lin Feng and the female thief were quietly hiding together.
However, their heads were now only a centiter or two apart; they could even hear each other’s breathing clearly.
If Lin Feng leaned his head forward just a little more, he could definitely kiss the female thief’s cheek—through the fabric of her stealth suit.
Under any other circumstances, the female thief would probably have slapped Lin Feng by now. But this was a special situation; though angry and annoyed, she couldn’t do anything. The slightest sound would get them discovered.
Lin Feng looked at her, and she looked back at him. Then, she quickly tried to lower her head. Although Lin Feng couldn’t see her face, he could sense that the woman before him must be blushing as red as an apple.
I wonder what this woman looks like?
Looking at the female thief’s head, which was wrapped in black cloth, Lin Feng suddenly beca curious about the appearance of the woman in such close proximity.
Hmm, slim figure, over 165 cm tall, a classic oval-shaped face... A woman like that should be quite attractive, right? Lin Feng mused.
Because neither of them wanted to reveal their identities, and also because Zhao Si and his n, though finished with their patrol, hadn’t left yet, Lin Feng and the female thief did their best to remain silent.
After about ten minutes, it finally grew quiet outside. Zhao Si and the others had left.
Seeing this, Lin Feng let out a long sigh of relief. Just as he was about to remove the lid, he felt the plastic barrel wobble, then suddenly lose balance and topple sideways.
It turned out the female thief had also tried to remove the lid. But with one moving right after the other, they hadn’t coordinated their balance, and the plastic barrel wobbled and tipped right over.
A sharp THUD!
Lin Feng’s entire body landed right on top of the female thief!
The female thief frowned and quickly shifted her body away. Then, very awkwardly, the two of them slowly climbed out of the plastic barrel.
The female thief was the first to get to her feet. She glared resentfully at Lin Feng a couple of tis, looking as if she wanted to strike him. But, likely concerned about attracting the security guards’ attention, she just snorted and then quickly ran towards the warehouse’s other exit.
Lin Feng righted the plastic barrel, returning it to its original spot, but he was puzzled. A female thief runs into this warehouse for no reason, doesn’t even steal anything, and ends up squeezed into a plastic barrel with , body to body? What the hell was that all about?
After leaving the Emperor Dragon Building, Lin Feng removed his hat and mask and returned to his apartnt.
Thinking about tonight’s bizarre experience, Lin Feng was, on one hand, curious about the female thief’s identity, and on the other, furious with Ye Lin for being so slow on the uptake.
"Hey, couldn’t you pick a better ti to send a text? I was already in the Imperial Building’s warehouse when your ssage arrived. Were you trying to get into trouble?" Lin Feng texted back.
"How is that my fault?! Who brings their phone into a warehouse anyway?! And if you had to bring it, why was the ringer on?! You court death, you find it! If you got discovered, you deserved it!"
Ye Lin’s reply sounded even angrier than Lin Feng.
Damn, are all won on a gunpowder diet these days? So fiery!
Seeing Ye Lin’s text, Lin Feng pursed his lips. Just as he was about to reply, his phone sounded with a BEEP. Another ssage from Ye Lin had arrived.
