As she thought of Lin Feng’s actions, Ning Aoxue suddenly felt a surge of emotion that made her pupils dilate and her delicate body tremble slightly...
Originally, Ning Aoxue had identified three formidable opponents: Li Jing from the Academics Departnt, Zhang Kuan from the Organization Departnt, and Chen Xiaoru from the Secretariat. But because of Lin Feng, two of the three were out of the running, leaving only Chen Xiaoru from the Secretariat as a minor threat to her!
anwhile, Lin Feng, who was originally a dark horse candidate capable of threatening Miss Ning, had surprisingly sabotaged himself, practically conceding... Didn’t he do all this so I could win? Miss Ning glanced at Lin Feng, her face brimming with a happy smile.
Lin Feng found Miss Ning’s sudden, suggestive smile sowhat baffling. Could it be that she’s finally figured things out and wants to beco a ’real woman,’ setting her sights on pure ? What should I do? Give in or resist? As a man of integrity—can I request to be on top?
"Why are you suddenly giving such a strange smile?" Lin Feng asked Ning Aoxue, shooting her a sidelong glance with a grin.
"Lin Feng, thank you..." Ning Aoxue suddenly bead, expressing her gratitude.
This abrupt thank you left Lin Feng even more baffled. Does Miss Ning even know how to be grateful? But aside from occasionally cooking and tagging along like a lackey, I haven’t done anything that warrants her special thanks!
As Lin Feng racked his brains, Ning Aoxue suddenly stood up and walked out from behind him. She strode confidently towards the podium, leaving Lin Feng with only the fragrant scent of her departing figure.
"Wow..."
"She’s so beautiful!"
"Which departnt is this junior from?"
"She’s even more captivating than Senior Sister Li Liping!"
"Damn, what’s this junior’s major?"
Ning Aoxue’s entrance instantly drew countless gasps of admiration. Many upperclassn who had never witnessed Ning Aoxue’s stunning beauty before didn’t hesitate to let out excited whoops and hollers, despite the initial instruction to maintain discipline during the eting.
For so reason, hearing these cheers, which were usually commonplace, made feel a little uncomfortable... Lin Feng thought.
Ning Aoxue’s appearance easily captivated most of the male students present. Her speaking skills weren’t bad either. Her script, morized to perfection, was practically just a prop; like Lin Feng, she delivered her speech extemporaneously!
When Ning Aoxue bowed in thanks, thunderous applause erupted on the spot!
After all fourteen eligible departnt heads and deputy departnt heads had taken the stage, the results of the first round of voting were quickly announced. Unsurprisingly, Ning Aoxue advanced to the second round with 80 votes. Chen Xiaoru was next with an impressive 64 votes. And, surprisingly, Lin Feng ca in third with 29 votes, also advancing to the second round.
Seeing Lin Feng in third place, most people present found it utterly baffling. Could Lin Feng actually stage a last-minute coback, secure the position, and fulfill his own prophecy of it being pre-arranged? they wondered.
Li Jing, the departnt head of the Academics Departnt, received fewer than 10 votes. Deeply stricken, her head was buried in her arms, too ashad to face anyone. Realizing she had received even fewer votes than Lin Feng, Li Jing could no longer find any reason to be confident. If this hadn’t been a general assembly of the entire School of Managent Student Union, Li Jing would have fled on the spot.
The second round of competition was a free Q&A session. Each of the three candidates would stand on stage for five minutes to answer questions from other student council mbers about their plans if elected.
After drawing lots, Lin Feng was the first to take the stage.
Looking at the over one hundred people below, rubbing their hands in anticipation and eyeing him like wolves, Lin Feng—who was surprised by his own advancent—knew they must have a lot they wanted to ask and say, perhaps even many deliberately difficult questions waiting for him.
However, Lin Feng had no intention of giving them the chance. As soon as he was on stage, he spoke into the microphone, "I’m honored to have made it to the second round. However, I want to announce here that I am voluntarily withdrawing from the contest for the vice presidency! I ask those who support to please transfer your votes to Ning Aoxue!"
When Ning Aoxue heard Lin Feng’s words into the microphone, she froze. His statent further confird her earlier suspicions. How could she not be moved? So, everything Lin Feng did tonight was for ... Ning Aoxue’s usually icy, dark eyes gradually misted over, a hint of spring warmth seeping through as she gazed at Lin Feng from afar, slightly srized.
After speaking, Lin Feng didn’t wait for the audience’s reaction. He decisively turned and walked off the stage, leaving countless people who had been eager to find fault with him feeling as if they’d punched at empty air, utterly deflated.
Seeing Lin Feng cheerfully announce his withdrawal, Li Jing finally understood: Lin Feng had never cared about the vice presidency at all. Li Jing was overco with regret. If I had known, why would I have targeted Lin Feng and made a fool of myself so many tis? He was never my competitor!
Looking at the captivating Ning Aoxue radiating charm on stage, Li Jing’s heart filled with jealousy. Like Ning Aoxue, she too was convinced that everything Lin Feng had done was to help Ning Aoxue secure the position.
Is Ning Aoxue—just because her chest is a bit bigger than mine, her legs a bit thinner, her waist a bit slimr, and her face a bit prettier—really worth Lin Feng doing all this? Li Jing ground her teeth, fuming. Despite her imnse unwillingness, she could only grit her teeth and endure it.
When had Lin Feng ever cared about his opponents’ feelings? If he felt like getting on stage to have so fun, he did. When he felt he’d had enough fun, he quit. It was that simple. The position of Student Union Vice President ant nothing to him!
However, Lin Feng was quite happy to do Ning Aoxue this favor along the way. In a secret ballot like this, Lin Feng didn’t even know who had voted for him; his request for people to transfer their votes to Ning Aoxue was just an offhand remark.
Next, Ning Aoxue and Chen Xiaoru both pulled out all the stops on stage—acting cute, arguing logically, persuading with virtue—doing their utmost to rally votes for themselves.
Compared to Ning Aoxue, Chen Xiaoru’s advantage was her familiarity with the mbers of every departnt in the School of Managent Student Union. She could call almost every questioner by na, a very heartwarming touch.
Ning Aoxue was more beautiful and had a perfect speaking voice. Even more impressively, she was very polite to every questioner, doing her best to address the issues they raised, even if they were deliberately trying to be difficult.
After the second round of questions, the second round of voting began.
Ultimately, Ning Aoxue, departnt head of the Arts Departnt, defeated Chen Xiaoru, departnt head of the Secretariat, by a slim margin of 93 to 90 votes, becoming the new Vice President of the School of Managent Student Union!
Watching Ning Aoxue on the podium delivering her victory speech in high spirits, Lin Feng couldn’t help but sigh internally. Ning Aoxue really is born to be a star; she always looks particularly captivating on stage!
On stage, as Ning Aoxue’s victory speech neared its end, she looked towards Lin Feng in the distance and said with a smile:
"...At this point, I want to give special thanks to one person: Lin Feng! Thank you for everything you’ve done for !"
