Lin Chen arrived at the gymnasium and saw that many spectators had already taken their seats.
On the training court, mbers of both teams were warming up, but Lin Chen did not see Jiang Qian among the players warming up.
At that mont, in a corner of the training court, Lin Chen finally spotted Jiang Qian, who seed to be speaking animatedly to a girl.
Jiang Qian was furious, she had always been a key player on the team, but today she had been kicked off the basketball team and hadn't even made it onto the substitute roster.
"Yin Fengzhu, what do you an? Why did you remove from the roster?" Jiang Qian exclaid angrily.
"Why? This is the coach's decision, what does it have to do with ?" Yin Fengzhu scoffed.
Jiang Qian huffed, "You think I don't know? The coach did this solely because of your pressure, everybody knows your father is a school board mber!"
Yin Fengzhu smirked coldly, "Since you know, why even speak? Let tell you, it was . What are you going to do about it, bite ?"
"Why?" Jiang Qian said, seething with anger.
Just then, a male student ca running over with two bottles of sports drink: "Fengzhu, I brought you water."
Seeing the male student made Jiang Qian pause; it was Wu Shuang, who had been pursuing her recently.
Yin Fengzhu snorted and hooked her arm around Wu Shuang's.
"Now you know why I targeted you, right? You dare to flirt with my boyfriend and still dream of joining the team," Yin Fengzhu said coldly.
"I flirted with him? He's been sticking to day after day, how is that my fault?" Jiang Qian retorted angrily.
Recently, Wu Shuang had been taking every opportunity to chat her up and had been extrely considerate.
In the face of his romantic advances, Jiang Qian began to feel attracted to him, which was why they had been visiting the library together and dining together over the past few days.
Now, however, she was being accused of seducing soone else's boyfriend, a charge she was not willing to accept.
Wu Shuang looked uncomfortable but assud an air of decency and said to Jiang Qian, "I've told you before, we're not suitable. Please stop showing up in front of and affecting my life, okay? I'm with soone."
"You, you're too full of yourself. Who's affecting your life? You're the one who waits for every day at the school gate, you're the one who keeps ssaging on WeChat. Fine, I can show everyone our WeChat conversations," Jiang Qian fud.
Upon hearing that Jiang Qian intended to reveal their chat history, Wu Shuang's face changed. He raised his hand and struck her.
Never had Jiang Qian expected Wu Shuang to dare strike her in public; she remained immobile, standing stunned in place.
But just then, Lin Chen grabbed Wu Shuang's wrist.
"Slap!"
A loud slap landed heavily on Wu Shuang's face.
If Lin Chen hadn't grabbed his wrist, Wu Shuang would have been sent flying by the slap.
Wu Shuang was left dazed and reeling, and Yin Fengzhu, seeing her boyfriend slapped, was imdiately furious.
"Who the hell are you to hit my boyfriend?"
Lin Chen snorted, "Hitting him is the least of what he deserves for laying a hand on my girlfriend. He's practically asking for death."
A cold, malicious aura spread out from him, causing both Wu Shuang and Yin Fengzhu to shiver.
"You kicked Jiang Qian off the team just because you're jealous that she's more skilled than you and afraid she'd steal your lilight. With a captain like you, I can't imagine this team being very strong," Lin Chen said coldly.
"Nonsense, my skills are the best in the whole school. What does Jiang Qian have to compare with ?" Yin Fengzhu retorted with a snort.
"Whether or not it works, we'll only know after trying. How about this, if we lose, Jiang Qian and I will let you slap us ten tis in front of everyone and we will never play on the basketball team again. If you lose, you give up the captaincy to Jiang Qian and leave the team. How does that sound?" Lin Chen said indifferently.
Hearing Lin Chen's words, Yin Fengzhu snorted coldly, "Fine, I really want to see what skills she has to compete with in basketball."
Yin Fengzhu's confidence wasn't unfounded. She had practiced basketball from a young age, been selected for the provincial team, and went directly into a professional team after graduation. She stood out at Zhonghai University. Although Jiang Qian's skills were also strong, they were, at best, those of an amateur player. How could she possibly compete with her?
"Brother Chen, I'm really no match for her," Jiang Qian whispered.
Lin Chen smiled faintly, "Don't worry, I'm here!"

Yin Fengzhu sneered, "Okay, just don't regret it later."
Lin Chen patted Jiang Qian on the shoulder and said indifferently, "Go ahead and compete confidently."
Jiang Qian nodded and headed to the basketball court.
By now, the matchup between the two had spread throughout the entire basketball court, with everyone watching the two standing on the service line.
"Yin Fengzhu is about to join a professional team; isn't Jiang Qian just asking for trouble competing against her?"
"The difference in their height and physique is too great; there's no suspense in this match!"
With the referee's whistle, Jiang Qian started the offense. Dribbling the ball, she saw an opening in Yin Fengzhu's defense and tried to break through.
Yin Fengjiao snorted coldly and forcefully bumped her body against Jiang Qian's, causing Jiang Qian to stagger and the ball to be directly snatched from her hands.
"Competing against is simply humiliating yourself."
Yin Fengzhu arrogantly took the ball and made a beautiful three-step layup, sending the ball into the basket.
The crowd in the stands was imdiately abuzz; the disparity between the two was too great—it was a complete domination.
Now, they switched roles, with Yin Fengzhu attacking and Jiang Qian defending.
With a look of disdain, Yin Fengzhu coldly said, "Watch closely, I'll show you how to play basketball."
As the whistle sounded, Yin Fengzhu, without any flashy moves, bumped her shoulder like a tank, knocking Jiang Qian off her feet, followed by a three-point layup that went straight into the basket, giving Yin Fengzhu a complete victory in the first round.
A sigh swept through the crowd in the stands.
Anyone with clear eyes could see that the match was one-sided. The gap between Jiang Qian and Yin Fengzhu was too great.
"With that level, challenging Yin Fengzhu is simply suicidal."
"She's on a professional level; maybe she's lost her mind."
Whispers rippled through the crowd in the stands. The match seed all but settled, and the only question was how Yin Fengzhu would dominate Jiang Qian.
Jiang Qian returned to the court with a dim gaze, "Lin Chen, I'm sorry for causing you trouble."
Lin Chen smiled faintly, "It's just one round; who said you've lost?"
Jiang Qian smiled bitterly, "I really can't do this; the difference in our strength is too great."
"I believe you can definitely win," Lin Chen patted Jiang Qian's shoulder and whispered a few words in her ear.
After hearing Lin Chen's words, Jiang Qian's eyes lit up, but she expressed concern, "Yin Fengzhu is too strong physically, I'm no match for her in physical contact."
Lin Chen smiled faintly, "That's not a problem, I'll give you a massage, and even a bull won't be able to move you!"
