Mu Zeyu pushed the gold-rimd glasses up his nose. "Got it, reciprocity, right? I’ll help you pick the gift."
The two of them walked into the store and began to carefully browse through the selections.
"How about this one?" He pointed to a dark red tie.
"It doesn’t really suit him, though," Xiyan shook her head, her eyes landing instead on a black-and-white striped tie not far away.
Hmm, that one really matches Ou Jue’s style.
Xiyan picked it up and held it in front of Mu Zeyu to compare.
"Give the gift bag first. It’s ruining the overall aesthetic," Xiyan said with a serious expression.
Mu Zeyu was thoroughly helpless, but he still listened to the little girl’s instructions, holding the tie himself as Xiyan scrutinized him from every possible angle.

Xiyan leaned forward for a closer look.

Xiyan was almost crying from her own clumsiness. Impatient, she pulled the strands of hair free herself with a sharp tug, finally freeing herself.

"Ah—" Xiyan exclaid in shock, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Ou Jue?"
Ou Jue stood protectively in front of Xiyan, his imposing stance emanating arrogance. His dark eyes were as cold and sharp as blades as he pointed his slender finger accusingly at Mu Zeyu. "What the hell did you just do to her? Wanna die?"
Although Mu Zeyu hadn’t been hit by Ou Jue’s fist, he had knocked himself against the shelves while dodging, and his gold-rimd glasses had fallen to the floor.
Dear god.
Xiyan shoved at Ou Jue. "Are you insane? Why are you attacking people for no reason?"
She still had the audacity to ask why?!
"This is your so-called private matter?" Ou Jue sneered, pointing at Mu Zeyu. "You two seem pretty damn close, don’t you? Xia Xiyan, how co I never realized before that you were this kind of woman? Hm?"
