Li Xueyan clutched her sleeve and looked at An Ran, "An Ran, I’m sorry."
She had already apologized so sincerely; surely she wouldn’t have to stand as punishnt, right?
Chi Cheng lowered his eyes, opened the textbook, "Leave."
This was unlike his usual graceful deanor; he left Li Xueyan with no face whatsoever.
Li Xueyan wiped away her tears and had no choice but to walk out of the classroom in humiliation under the gaze of the whole class.
And An Ran, still stood at the corner of the lectern, not knowing what to do.
"Class has started, please, An Ran, go back to your seat."
The polite remark made An Ran’s heart even more conflicted.
She silently returned to her seat.
This was Chi Cheng’s last class to teach; the girls in the class had their eyes unashadly fixed on Chi Cheng.
But An Ran never lifted her head to look at him, keeping her eyes on the textbook the whole ti.
Finally, class was dismissed.
While Chi Cheng was still organizing his textbooks, An Ran was the first to rush out of the classroom.
Chi Cheng glanced sideways, saw the back of the little girl running away, his eyes uncertain and obscure.
As soon as Teacher Chi left, An Ran left, and the class was instantly abuzz.
"Just now, Teacher Chi said that his resignation has nothing to do with An Ran, yeah."
"Does this an that An Ran’s mom isn’t really a murderer?"
Li Xueyan, who was punished for a whole period, was sitting at her seat, pounding her leg, pouting, "Are you guys stupid? Teacher Chi clearly said his resignation has nothing to do with An Ran, but he didn’t say An Ran’s mom is innocent. Anyway, I’ve got so inside info; An Ran’s mom is indeed the culprit behind Teacher Chi’s mom’s death! If you don’t believe , just wait!"
-
An Ran rushed out of the campus, and at the parking area, she couldn’t find the family driver at all.
That was better.
When no one was around, she could be openly sad.
An Ran lowered her little head, feeling her eyes sting; she quickly brushed away the tears with her fingertips.
Just then, the sound of a car horn blaring ca from behind.
Turning her head, it was Chi Cheng’s Porsche.
An Ran remained silent, instinctively moved aside to make space for him to pass.
Who knew the car would slowly co to a stop, and the window rolled down, revealing Chi Cheng’s enchanting face.
Chi Cheng looked at An Ran’s sowhat reddened eyes, slightly parted his thin lips, "Get in the car."
But An Ran turned her head and walked away.
Since he’s decided to distance himself from , why play this ga!
Chi Cheng drove slowly, following behind An Ran, propping one hand on the window fra, controlling the steering wheel with the other, glanced at her again, "An Ran, get in the car, hmm?"
An Ran quickened her pace, deliberately walking onto a step where the car couldn’t go.
Slam.
Behind her ca the sound of a car door slamming and footsteps getting closer.
Chi Cheng grabbed An Ran’s arm in one swift move, held her tightly, and redirected her towards the car.
"What, what are you doing? Let go of ..." An Ran was caught off guard, just pushed into the passenger seat, accidentally bumped her knee that she hurt yesterday, cried out in pain.
It was then that Chi Cheng realized his actions were sowhat rough.
He quickly released An Ran, pulled her gently into his embrace, rubbing the spot on her arm he’d gripped, "Where else does it hurt? Does the knee still hurt?"
"Arm hurts, knee hurts, my whole body hurts, it’s all your fault!" An Ran vented by pounding him once, resisted by pressing her hand against his chest, "I don’t want you touching , please stay away from ."
