Thirty minutes later.
Xiyan arrived alone at an abandoned factory.
She had received a threatening phone call, claiming that as long as she ca alone, Ou Xiaoluo would return safely tonight.
This factory had been deserted for a long ti—usually devoid of people—and now, with evening approaching, the surroundings were imbued with a chilling coldness.

Luo Xueying looked at Xiyan, her face full of hatred. "You’d better not move, or I’ll blow your brains out right now!"
What the heck? Why is sothing that’s supposed to be a prop in TV dramas showing up in real life?
Isn’t a gun like this supposed to be il-leg-al?!
Xia Shiyi walked slowly out from the shadows, unhurried. "You’re quite punctual."
Snapping herself out of it, Xiyan forced herself to calm down. "I’ve done what you asked and showed up. When will you release her?"
Xia Shiyi narrowed her eyes, examining her from head to toe. "Xia Xiyan, you didn’t try to pull any tricks, did you?"
"Ou Xiaoluo is in your hands. What tricks could I even pull?"
"Haha..." Xia Shiyi suddenly burst into a maniacal laugh. "Should I call you stupid? Risking your own life for so outsider, utterly foolish!"
Xiyan’s face turned pale. "What do you an by that?"
"What do I an..." Xia Shiyi strolled back and forth casually in front of Xiyan. "Take a good look at that gun pressed against the back of your head. It’s a real gun—I bought it just this afternoon from the black market, specifically—for you!
I originally thought about keeping you around for a few days, making you my slave, my servant, torturing you to my heart’s content.
But... this afternoon, I changed my mind."
Xia Shiyi paused in her steps as she said this, glaring viciously at Xiyan. "I want you dead right now! Gone from this world forever!"

Xiyan had anticipated that Xia Shiyi would take revenge on her in so way this ti.
She had even ntally prepared herself for a beating at the very least.
But what she didn’t expect was that Xia Shiyi wanted her dead!
Xiyan’s voice trembled. "Xia Shiyi, do you even know what you’re doing?"
"I know exactly what I’m doing." Xia Shiyi suddenly stepped closer to Xiyan, her eyes locked firmly onto hers. "Xia Xiyan, you’re nothing more than a jinx who was kicked out of the house by your father five years ago. Even if I finish you off today, no one will care! No one will shed a tear for you—not even Ou Jue!"
At the ntion of Ou Jue’s na, Xia Shiyi’s face beca even more twisted and grotesque. "The first young master of a wealthy family is always cold-hearted. He may show you a little interest today, but tomorrow, his interest will shift to soone else. Don’t you dare think you’re special!"
Xiyan understood now.
So this woman was losing her mind because her confession was rejected?
She defiantly raised her chin. "Just as you said, the young master of a wealthy family is always cold-hearted. But at least, Ou Jue cared about once. You, on the other hand, will never experience that—not even in this lifeti!"
"You... you!!" Xia Shiyi was so furious she could spit blood. In a frenzy, she swung her hand and slapped Xiyan hard across the face!
