The group of journalists, confused, quickly stepped aside to make way.
A girl wearing a white long dress, with striking red lips and white teeth, full of an assertive aura, stood behind them.
She walked forward in high heels, a faint smile playing at the corners of her mouth.
"Niannian—" Xiyan opened her tiny arms and bear-hugged Chi Niannian, her eyes sparkling. "The stuff, where’s the stuff?"
Chi Niannian, looking down at Xiyan with a smile like an older sister, shook her phone slightly. "Brought it."
Niannian?
Could it be the other mber from the "盛夏光年" band five years ago—Chi Niannian?
Xia Shiyi looked completely bewildered, as did the journalists present.
Xiyan took the phone, opened the video, and pointed it directly at the cara with an air of righteous determination. "Weren’t you after the truth of what happened that day? Here it is—the truth!"
The video’s background showed the building across from the pool where Luoluo fell into the water.
The pool was a considerable distance away.
At first, the footage seed to scan past, but the person recording appeared to notice sothing unusual and redirected the focus back to the scene.
Then, the video zood in—
A petite figure was crouched on the ground, nervously extending a rescue pole toward the drowning child while holding a phone.
It was Xiyan!
For a mont, silence descended on the scene.
Xia Shiyi’s face turned deathly pale in that instant!
Then, a girl in a red dress walked over to Xiyan, suddenly pushed her into the pool, and snatched the unconscious, drowning child.
At this point, the person filming the video started running along the windows upstairs, sprinting toward the pool.
The footage was shaky, but it still faintly showed that the girl wearing the red dress, with golden wavy hair, had pushed Xiyan into the pool and, ignoring her fate, grabbed Luoluo and fled!
The screen froze suddenly, and the video stopped.
"I just returned to the country. The only reason I visited that location was purely out of nostalgia—to retrace the paths I once walked with my bandmates. The TV Station holds a special place in my heart." Chi Niannian said calmly, looking into the cara.
Xiyan’s initially excited mood shifted to sorrow upon hearing these words.
The "盛夏光年" band once had three mbers: Xiyan, Niannian, and Shengsheng.
Unfortunately, Shengsheng passed away in a car accident five years ago...
Even now, five years later, Xiyan’s return could not revive "盛夏光年." It had beco an irreplaceable fragnt of the past.
Clenching her lower lip, Xiyan spoke up. "I don’t know how to swim. If it hadn’t been for Niannian that day, I might have already died at Xia Shiyi’s hands. Without this unexpected video recording, Xia Shiyi might still be posing as a heroic role model in front of the public! Xia Shiyi, didn’t you claim you were the one who saved Luoluo?
