Ou Jue hadn’t left the room. Holding a glass cup, he stepped forward and handed it to Xiyan. "Drink so water."
Xiyan turned her head away. "I don’t want any."
His dark eyes settled on Xiyan’s dry lips. Without a word, he drank a mouthful of water, then grabbed her chin and leaned in, pressing his lips against hers.
He transferred all the water to her.
"Mmh..."
The cool water, mingled with his distinctive taste, was forcibly passed into her mouth.
She swallowed it in one gulp, soothing her parched throat.
When he seed ready to take another mouthful to give to her, Xiyan quickly snatched the glass from him. "I... I’ll drink it myself."
"Good girl." Ou Jue ruffled Xiyan’s hair, then sat beside her, naturally pulling her onto his lap.

"What about us?" Xiyan suddenly lifted her luminous dark eyes. "What if we were separated for so long? What would you do?"

"There’s no such ’what if.’" Ou Jue leaned closer to Xiyan. "Don’t let your mind wander with all this nonsense. Got it?"
"But who can predict the future?" Xiyan sounded a bit dispirited as she drew circles on Ou Jue’s chest with her fingertip. "Like Mr. Ling and my mom. They truly loved each other, yet back then, neither of them foresaw that one day, Susan would co between them and tear them apart for eighteen years..."
"I’m not like Mr. Ling." Ou Jue’s grip around her was firm. "You’re mine. You’ll always be mine. Even if you run to the ends of the earth, I’ll chase you down and bring you back!"
Just then, there was a light knock at the door to the hospital room.
They looked up and saw Qianmo walk in. Her gaze imdiately landed on Xiyan, who was sitting intimately on Ou Jue’s lap, legs straddling him.
That intimate posture stung Qianmo’s eyes.
Why was Brother Ou Jue staying with Xiyan and her mother?
The ring of true love clearly belonged to Ms. Susan.
Ms. Susan was Mr. Ling’s true love.
