[Third Person Pov]
"Stand down and stop resisting!" The voice of the commander echoed from one of the military's large cruise ships in the air, the sound amplified across the entire area. "You are surrounded. If you all fail to comply you will be t with force without prejudice."
n and won wearing advanced technological protective gear continued charging towards the center, moving in coordinated formations as they fired large blasters and other lethal weapons at Superman and his team. Energy rounds streaked through the air, lighting the battlefield with constant flashes.
Superman flew straight ahead toward the incoming army, not slowing down as they advanced with the clear intent to take him down. He leaned forward midair, accelerating through the barrage instead of avoiding the fight altogether.
Clark's orange gauntlet pulsed with energy, glowing brighter with each movent. Every punch he threw released bursts of fireballs that shot forward and struck multiple soldiers at once, knocking them out of formation. He moved cleanly through the air, weaving between energy bullets with precise control, his body shifting just enough to avoid each incoming shot without wasting motion.
He flipped over one of the soldiers, placing his hand firmly on top of the soldier's helt, and casually pushed him downward. The force behind the motion sent the soldier crashing hard into the empty street below, the pavent cracking slightly on impact in an area that had no resident in the vicinity.
Using the montum from the flip, Clark redirected himself and drove both feet into the chest of another soldier midair. Fire burst from the soles of his boots on impact, launching the soldier backward until he collided into another, sending both of them tumbling across the air before dropping.
Clark flipped backward again, his movent smooth and continuous as a trail of fire followed behind him. While upside down, he began rotating his body faster and faster. His speed increased steadily until the air around him visibly distorted, bending from the pressure of his motion. The fire trailing him mixed with the air currents he was generating, forming a growing spiral around him.
The rotation intensified, pulling in the surrounding air and debris. The flas stretched outward, blending into the motion until the effect beca a controlled vortex of fire and pressure forming around Clark's spinning body.
"Ahhh! Get away!!"
"We're trying but the suction is too powerful!!"
"Commander! Open fi—"
The soldiers' voices were cut off as they were pulled into the vortex, their bodies dragged off course despite their attempts to stabilize themselves. One after another, they were drawn in and disappeared within the swirling fire.
"He is such a show off," Momo scoffed, holding both hands forward as she focused. A large construct ford instantly, shaped like two massive hands pressed together. The construct moved into position in front of her, blocking a continuous barrage of incoming energy rounds that struck against it in rapid succession.
She then thrust the construct forward without hesitation. The giant hands slamd into the group of soldiers ahead of her, driving them straight into the ground with force. When the construct lifted, a massive palm-shaped imprint was left behind in the pavent, with the soldiers embedded into it and unable to move.
Without pausing, she redirected the construct upward and grabbed one of the flying vehicles carrying a squad of soldiers. The large hand tightened around it before hurling it into the sky. The vehicle spun uncontrollably as it was thrown far beyond the city limits. It eventually crashed into the outskirts, tumbling across open ground while the n inside scread, until it finally ca to a stop upside down, the soldiers inside left unconscious.
Nearby, Lala and Yami moved through the air at high speed, circling around each other like hornets. One had devil wings, the other angel wings, their contrasting appearances clear even in motion as they fought off the soldiers attempting to capture them.
Lala moved aggressively, cutting down incoming weapons with her wing-shaped blade before following up with direct strikes. She kicked one soldier away midair and drove her fist into another's chest, sending him flying back into his squad.
Yami fought differently. Her hair extended and transford into dragon-like heads that snapped outward with precision. They tore through protective gear and struck at multiple targets at once, forcing soldiers out of the sky as their equipnt failed under the assault.
At one point, Yami and Lala landed back to back in midair, holding position briefly despite the ongoing attacks around them. Their expressions didn't match.
"This is really starting to be so much fun, don't you think?" Lala said, her tone bright and energized.
Yami remained expressionless. "I just want this to be over quickly."
Clark finally stopped spinning after pulling in more than fifty soldiers into the vortex. The swirling fire began to weaken as his rotation slowed, shrinking until it fully disappeared.
Monts later, soldiers in scorched and damaged combat suits began falling from the sky around him. Trails of smoke and faint embers followed their descent as their bodies dropped uncontrollably.
They crashed across the city streets and rooftops, impacts echoing as debris and dust rose into the air. Their suits, having absorbed most of the damage, started to break apart on impact, failing after protecting them one last ti. The soldiers were left unconscious, many with visible first and second degree burns.
"Aim your weapons at that alien monster!" the commander roared from his ship, his voice cutting through the battlefield again as multiple ships adjusted their positions around Clark and the others. "I want him struck down from the skies this instant! Do. Not. Hold. Back!"
Sensing what was coming, Clark held his hands out, and his cape responded instantly to his thoughts. It broke away from his shoulders and shot across the battlefield with purpose, moving faster than the incoming fire.
"Woah!" Momo exclaid as the cape wrapped around her waist and lifted her clean off from the air, pulling her away from the center.
"Weeee!!" Lala happily shouted as she let herself be carried without resistance, "Hahaha!"
Yami kept her usual indifferent expression, but there was a brief flicker of confusion in her eyes as the cape coiled around her as well and pulled her along with the others.
The cape moved quickly, weaving through the battlefield before placing all three of them on top of a distant rooftop far from the center of the fight. It lingered around them protectively, hovering and shifting slightly as if ready to react again.
Above the battlefield, massive war vessels adjusted their positions. Turrets extended outward from their hulls, each one locking directly onto Clark's position. The muzzles began to glow, gathering energy as a loud, rising whine filled the air.
The sky lit up with concentrated points of light as every weapon reached full charge. For a brief mont, everything seed to pause.
Then they fired.
Blinding beams and explosive rounds rained down all at once, descending toward Clark like concentrated hellfire. The barrage struck him directly, one after another without pause. Explosions overlapped and stacked, filling the air with continuous detonations as the impact zone expanded.
The bombardnt didn't let up. Energy blasts kept pouring in, building on each other as the explosions grew larger and more violent with each hit. The air itself seed to compress under the force.
A massive shockwave burst outward from the center, tearing through the surrounding area. Buildings trembled as the force slamd into them, glass across the city cracking before shattering outward in a chain reaction.
"Ahhhh!!" Momo and Lala both cried out as the shockwave reached them, hitting hard even at their distance despite the cape bracing against it.
Yami grunted as the force pushed against her. Without hesitation, she transford her arm into a blade and drove it deep into the rooftop to anchor herself. She reached back with her other hand and grabbed Lala's wrist, while Momo quickly grabbed onto Lala's tail for support, causing Lala to let out a loud, involuntary moan.
The force continued to push them backward. Yami's blade carved through the rooftop surface as she was dragged several feet despite her efforts to hold position. The structure beneath them cracked and split from the strain.
After several long seconds, the shockwave finally passed. The pressure eased, and all three of them lost the tension they were holding, collapsing onto the rooftop.
"Is he an idiot?" Yami growled, pushing herself up slightly. "Why would he stand there and take it? He should have dodged."
"He couldn't," Momo replied as she slowly got back to her feet, brushing debris off herself. "If he had dodged it, it would have landed on the city instead, wiping out who knows how many people."
"Well it doesn't matter, does it. Because now he's dead," Yami scoffed, her tone dismissive.
Lala, still rubbing her backside, raised a brow and smirked. "Says who?"
"What? You can't seriously think he survived that, do you? That type of attack was enough to destroy an entire continent."
"You shouldn't look down on Superman. He's much stronger than you think," Lala said confidently.
"I fought him before. I know how strong he is, and it still wouldn't be enough to survive an explosion of that caliber," Yami replied, frowning.
Momo smirked as she straightened fully, her gaze fixed on the center where the explosions had been. "However strong you believe my brother to be, just know he's stronger."
"I refuse to believe—" Yami stopped mid-sentence as her eyes focused ahead, her expression shifting into stunned silence.
Momo's grin widened as she took a firm, confident stance. "My brother is one of the strongest people there is. And that is simply a fact."
…
"C-Commander… A-Are you seeing this?" the soldier operating the weapons system stamred, his hands trembling over the controls.
The commander stared forward, his face twisting between rage and disbelief as he tore his hat off and clenched it tightly. "Tell ! How is that possible! How is that monster still alive and without a single injury on him!"
At the center of the devastation, Clark stood unmoving.
He was shirtless, his body completely unhard despite the scale of the attack. A golden aura surrounded him, steady and intense, while thin trails of steam rose from his skin. His hair, previously slicked back, had partially fallen loose and now shifted slightly with the air currents around him.
Clark calmly raised a hand and brushed his hair back into place. Around him, red Sunstone sand began to move, lifting from the air and gathering toward his body. It started at his chest, forming the crest of the House of El before spreading outward.
"I have to say," Clark scoffed, glancing upward toward the fleet, "that was a pretty impressive light show."
The red sand continued to flow, covering his torso and shoulders as his suit reconstructed itself piece by piece, forming seamlessly over his body.
His eyes suddenly flared a bright red-gold as a grin spread across his face.
"But now it's my turn, don't you think?"
