158: I’m back!

158: I’m back!

Whether it was Shangguan Kun, Shangguan Peng, or Shangguan Mingyue, they were all very curious about Ye Qiu.

The old master’s illness could now only be claid curable by Ye Qiu, while all other renowned doctors after diagnosing just shook their heads, indicating powerlessness.

Surrounded by her eldest and second uncles inquiring about Ye Qiu, Shangguan Hong had inadvertently beco the most valued person in the family at that mont.

Shangguan Hong was not used to it, answering the questions of her two uncles in a leisurely manner, yet deep down, there was always a barrier preventing her from feeling much affection toward them.

The ringing of her cellphone interrupted Shangguan Kun and Shangguan Peng’s questioning; Shangguan Hong ran to the side to answer it, eager to escape the two uncles.

“I’m back.” After answering, Shangguan Hong heard a familiar voice, Ye Qiu, and involuntarily, the face that was always smiling cheekily appeared in her mind.

“Grandfather’s illness has worsened.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t let the old man be killed by his illness.

I still want to beat him in a few more gas of Go, wait for ,” Ye Qiu said before hanging up the phone.

“Is that your friend?” Seeing a hint of happiness on Shangguan Hong’s face, Shangguan Kun imdiately thought of Ye Qiu.

“Yeah, he’s back,” Shangguan Hong nodded.

“Where is he?”

“He should be at the villa,” Shangguan Hong said uncertainly.

“I’ll send soone to pick him up,” Shangguan Kun said imdiately.

He didn’t want his father’s illness to be delayed any longer, risking unrecoverable consequences.

Now that Ye Qiu had appeared, it was best to bring him to his father’s side for treatnt as soon as possible.

“Eldest uncle, let go.

Your people haven’t seen him,” Shangguan Dao volunteered, which surprised Shangguan Kun for a mont.

Then, he casually said, “That’s also good, you’ve seen him, so bring him quickly to our ho.”

Shangguan Dao nodded and left the hall.

At the Goddess Villa, after hanging up the phone, Ye Qiu imdiately ran to the bathroom for a hot shower; he had been staying in the mountains for days and was quite dirty.

Fortunately, he had found what he was looking for.

He had to admit he was lucky; had he not saved that kingfisher, he probably wouldn’t have received its gratitude in return, let alone quickly find the extrely old earth dragon bone.

Otherwise, Ye Qiu had no idea how much longer he would have needed to search deeper into the mountains.

Having just returned to the Goddess Villa, he saw that aside from the little one Yinyin, there was no one else.

Hearing from Yinyin that Shangguan Hong and Shangguan Dao had left, Ye Qiu thought for a mont that it must be related to old Master Shangguan.

After the shower, Ye Qiu changed into clean clothes, feeling refreshed.

He then pushed open the door and headed for the Shangguan residence.

As soon as he reached the villa’s entrance, Ye Qiu saw Shangguan Dao standing not far away.

“Get in the car, the old master is waiting for you to save his life,” Shangguan Dao said, his tone as cold as ever.

Ye Qiu shrugged his shoulders and without declining, opened the car door and got in.

“You’ve been gone for so many days.

You must have been looking for that herb,” Shangguan Dao drove and glanced at Ye Qiu through the rearview mirror, catching sight of his eyes.

Ye Qiu offered no explanation.

“Thank you, I, Shangguan Dao, owe you a favor,” Shangguan Dao rarely uttered a word of gratitude.

“You don’t owe anything, just don’t forget the three conditions,” Ye Qiu said indifferently.

“What I, Shangguan Dao, say is as final as spilled water.

No matter what your eventual conditions are, I will do my utmost to fulfill them.”

The two thereafter fell silent, remaining so until they arrived at the doorstep.

When Ye Qiu entered the Shangguan residence, he was surprised to find an unusually large number of people from the Shangguan family.

Who were these two middle-aged n before him?

Shangguan Kun and Shangguan Peng also scrutinized Ye Qiu, their eyes expressing doubts.

To them, Ye Qiu seed very young about the sa age as their children; could such a young person truly cure the old master’s illness?

No matter how they looked at him, they could not see Ye Qiu as soone capable of such a feat, as he appeared very ordinary.

“Is this Ye Qiu?” Shangguan Kun still couldn’t help but ask subconsciously.

Shangguan Dao nodded his head, while Shangguan Hong, upon seeing Ye Qiu, showed a look of joy, ran up to Ye Qiu, and said, “Did you really find it?”

“Yes.”

Upon hearing this response, Shangguan Hong finally let out a sigh of relief and softly said, “Ye Qiu, thank you.”

“Seeing to the old master’s illness is what’s important,” Ye Qiu smiled.

“Young man, are you truly confident that you can cure my father’s illness?” Shangguan Kun asked out of concern.

“No, if you are confident, you may seek another expert!” Ye Qiu’s reply startled Shangguan Kun, and he was about to beco angry.

He had been in his official position for a long ti and rarely had soone dared to speak to him in such a way.

“I am helping the old master not for greed of anything from your Shangguan family.

I hold the old master in high esteem; he is a good man,” Ye Qiu said indifferently.

Shangguan Kun was sowhat angered in his heart, yet he didn’t show it.

After thinking it over carefully, the old master was gravely ill; they had invited renowned doctors from across the country, all to no avail.

If he were to give up because of a few insubordinate words from the young man before him, then perhaps the old master would truly not make it through.

“Very well, I shall observe the outco,” Shangguan Kun said without further ado.

Shangguan Peng, standing by, however, showed a hint of surprise at Ye Qiu’s words and deanor, and murmured to himself, “An interesting young man.

I, too, wish to see whether your confidence is re exaggeration or if you truly possess such ability.”

Shangguan Shu and her sister-in-law did not jump out to ridicule Ye Qiu any further, their attitude towards Ye Qiu was quite shocked; it seed that in the entire family, apart from the old master, they couldn’t find a second person who dared to speak to Shangguan Kun in such a manner.

However, recalling that Ye Qiu had previously treated them in the sa manner, they let it go, realizing this young man clearly didn’t respect anyone.

Ye Qiu didn’t say too much and went straight to the old master’s room.

Several important family mbers followed closely behind him.

Shangguan Mingyue and Sun Mingchang were sitting by the window wiping the father’s face when the family entered, and they heard Shangguan Hong’s voice, “This is Ye Qiu.”

Ye Qiu’s gaze also happened to fall on Shangguan Mingyue.

So beautiful!

Ye Qiu had never seen such a beautiful woman before; even Shangguan Hong, Shen ngchen, Chu Yao, Lin Qiao’er were not as beautiful as the Shangguan Mingyue before his eyes.

Her beauty, just like her na suggests, like the moon above, captivating and otherworldly, indescribably beautiful and beyond words.

Ye Qiu was montarily stunned but quickly ca to his senses.

This was not the ti to admire beauty, and although he was not sure who she was, she must have a deep relationship with Shangguan Hong.

Right now, treating the old master was the most important thing.

Ye Qiu centered his focus and laid out a set of silver needles in front of the bed, saying, “I will begin the acupuncture imdiately.

Boil this dicine with the other few herbal dicines for twelve precise minutes and bring it here in half an hour.”

Saying so, Ye Qiu tossed the earth dragon bone to Shangguan Dao.

Shangguan Kun wanted very much to check the herbal dicine, but in the end, he did not speak up again.

Shangguan Dao, after being instructed by Ye Qiu, went to personally prepare the decoction without any complaints, as he did not trust this task to anyone else.

“Unrelated people, please leave,” Ye Qiu commanded.

This took Shangguan Kun by surprise.

There were only a few people in the room; could it be he was being asked to leave?

“Big uncle, I hope you will cooperate with Ye Qiu,” Shangguan Hong said.

Shangguan Kun didn’t say anything and left the room with a stern face, followed by Shangguan Peng, Shangguan Shu, and the sister-in-law, who also left tactfully.

“May I stay?” Shangguan Mingyue, the only one besides Shangguan Hong who had not left, suddenly spoke up, looking at Ye Qiu and asking.

Ye Qiu glanced at Shangguan Mingyue, who explained, “If you can cure my grandfather, I believe it would be a miracle.

I want to witness this miracle with my own eyes, may I?” Her tone carried a hint of plea.

“Alright,” Ye Qiu considered for a mont and nodded.

Shangguan Mingyue suddenly revealed her smile as radiant as flowers, and it seed as though the whole room had turned into a season of blooming flowers in sumr.
