Capítulo 1661: Chapter 1661: Stirring Up a Hornet’s Nest!

The five of them slowly approached the lake. The lake surface was very calm, without even a ripple, and green aquatic plants were growing by the shore.

“Spirit Grass?”

When Gao Wanli looked at the aquatic plants, he noticed an aura fluctuation on them, as if they were absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

Du Wei and Ma Wentao, upon hearing this, their eyes flickered. They didn’t expect to encounter an opportunity so soon. Even though it was just Spirit Grass, it was still sothing worthwhile.

Moreover, looking at the size of this Spirit Grass, it’s probably been growing for years. Being able to grow within ruins, it definitely wouldn’t be ordinary Spirit Grass.

Everyone was tempted. Du Wei and Ma Wentao couldn’t help but imdiately move closer, wanting to get the Spirit Grass.

“Don’t rush.” Gao Wanli called out, but the two didn’t listen and still headed straight for the Spirit Grass.

Just as they were cutting the Spirit Grass with their swords, the calm lake surface suddenly rippled, and a giant, bloody mouth erged from the water, lunging at them.

The two were almost scared out of their wits and imdiately retreated, no longer daring to continue cutting the Spirit Grass.

Whoosh.

A monster fish with four limbs landed on the shore. It looked similar to a crocodile but was twice as large, and it had horns on its head. The monster fish didn’t stop on reaching the shore and continued to chase Du Wei and Ma Wentao.

“Run.” Gao Wanli called out, and the group quickly fled, not daring to linger, lest they fall into the mouth of that monster fish.

After sprinting for five miles, the monster fish stopped chasing and slowly crawled back.

Only then did everyone catch their breath. Du Wei and Ma Wentao silently thought how risky it was. If that monster fish had been a bit faster, they would have been dood there.

“Brother Gao, it was reckless of us. If we had listened to you, we wouldn’t have had to flee in such a panic,” Du Wei and Ma Wentao felt a hint of guilt. Their eagerness to obtain the Spirit Grass had blinded them to everything else, almost costing them their lives.

“In these ruins, there are opportunities, but there are also dangers. I won’t stop you two from seeking opportunities, but I want to remind you that opportunities and dangers coexist. Even Divinity Transformation Realm experts nearly fell here. Given our abilities, we can imagine the risk. Therefore, I hope everyone can act cautiously. Otherwise, if we started out as five and return as only two or three, it’s not sothing I want to see,” Gao Wanli said.

“You’re right, Brother Gao. Next ti we will be careful and not act recklessly,” Du Wei said.

Feeling apologetic, Du Wei glanced at Ye Qiu and was surprised internally. How could Ye Qiu remain so calm, unmoved by the Spirit Grass? If Ye Qiu had been the one rushing forward, that monster fish would have surely dealt with him.

“No way, next ti there’s danger, he must go first,” Du Wei thought to himself.

In fact, Ye Qiu had long sensed the presence of the monster fish in the lake. He just didn’t ntion it, and it so happened that Du Wei and Ma Wentao went to cut the Spirit Grass, allowing the monster fish to take care of them, so they wouldn’t be a nuisance in front of him.

Seeing Ye Qiu’s sigh, Du Wei gritted his teeth in anger, thinking that Ye Qiu must be mocking him or lanting why he wasn’t taken out by the monster fish.

“Mocking ?” Du Wei thought to himself as he watched.

Avoiding the monster fish crisis, the group took a different route, no longer walking close to the lake. After all, who knew if there would be a swarm of monster fish next ti, posing a greater danger?

After changing their route, they got further and further from the lake and continued to delve deeper into the ruins.

Soon, they entered a bamboo forest.

Gao Wanli shook his head repeatedly. Their current path had completely exceeded his previous knowledge, and no one knew what they would encounter next.

The bamboo forest was lush, but fortunately, there didn’t seem to be any fierce beasts. Even if there were, Gao Wanli’s strength would be enough to handle it.

“Why do I sll a fragrant scent?” Du Wei suddenly said. The others sniffed carefully and indeed found a fragrance in the air.

The group decided to follow the scent to see, as it was very likely emitted from a Spiritual dicine.

When the five of them reached the source of the fragrance, they were stunned to find not a Spiritual dicine but a black object with many bees buzzing around it.

“Is it the source of the scent?” The group was both amused and speechless, realizing it was the beehive emitting the fragrance. No wonder it slled so nice.

“Do you think the honey in that beehive could have been gathered from Spiritual dicine?” Du Wei said.

“Brother Du might be right. I’ve also never seen a beehive emit such a strong fragrance,” Gao Wanli said.

“If that’s the case, then this beehive is treasure. Let’s find a way to get it down,” Du Wei said.

This ti, Du Wei and Ma Wentao didn’t rush like last ti but discussed their approach.

Gao Wanli also nodded in agreent. Compared to the monster fish, the bees seed much less dangerous, at most stinging and causing so swelling.

Everyone agreed to bring down the beehive, but with so many bees around it, if not done right, the bees would swarm before they even touched the hive, which would be a problem.

The issue now was how to bring down the beehive.

At this point, Gao Wanli looked at the generally quiet Ye Qiu and said, “Brother Ye, any bright ideas?”

“It’s simple. I’ll bring it down,” Ye Qiu said.

Du Wei, seeing Ye Qiu volunteering to take down the hive, thought Ye Qiu had a good plan. His heart stirred, feeling that he couldn’t let Ye Qiu do it alone, or Ye Qiu would steal all the credit. “Brother Ye, how about I help you?”

“Sure.” Ye Qiu agreed without any hesitation, a smile forming on his face. For so reason, that smile made Du Wei regret it a bit because it gave him a bad feeling.

Ye Qiu had been thinking of getting Du Wei or Ma Wentao to help him with the hive, but before he could, Du Wei volunteered himself.

But since the offer was already made, Du Wei couldn’t take it back. He forced a smile and walked next to Ye Qiu, asking, “What should we do?”

“Just follow . Do as I do,” Ye Qiu said.

Du Wei thought to himself, “I’ll just mimic your actions. It’s not hard. Even if there’s danger, we’ll all be in it together. Let’s see what thod Ye Qiu has.”

Then Ye Qiu advised Gao Wanli and Lu Shan to back off to avoid any accidents, which made Du Wei frown repeatedly, feeling that Ye Qiu was a bit unreliable.

Seeing Ye Qiu break a bamboo stem, Du Wei was puzzled. What was he planning?

“You should get one too. You won’t be able to take down the hive without it,” Ye Qiu said.

Reluctantly, Du Wei also broke off a bamboo stem. The two of them slowly approached the beehive. Ye Qiu, holding his bamboo stick, said to Du Wei, “Just follow my lead.”

Unwillingly, Du Wei nodded.

Ye Qiu raised the bamboo stick in his hand. Du Wei, watching this, had a bad feeling. Was Ye Qiu really going to knock the hive down with a stick?

“No way. Doing that would provoke the bees,” Du Wei tried to reassure himself.

But his reassurance proved unnecessary as Ye Qiu indeed jabbed the bamboo stick straight at the hive.

“Damn…” Du Wei was just about to curse when Ye Qiu threw down the bamboo stick and turned to run. By the ti Du Wei reacted, he saw countless bees swarming toward him.

“Lunatic!”

“You’re a lunatic!”

As Du Wei turned to flee, he noticed Ye Qiu was already dozens of ters ahead of him. Then, all the others heard was Du Wei’s cries of pain.
