390: 0389 turns evil!
390: 0389 turns evil!
The howling wind grazed past his ears, as if blowing out from within the volcano, causing every strand of his hair to stand on end.
In the midst of free-falling, Ye Qiu used the inner walls of the volcano to occasionally slow his descent; he did not want to beco a at pancake before Adam could finish him off.
Despite his efforts, he was still hurtling downward at an extre speed.
Now and then, he caught a glimpse of the dark silhouette above, which was relentlessly pursuing him at unrelenting speed.
Ye Qiu thrust the Kusanagi Sword into the volcano’s wall half an inch deep and continued gliding downward.
From the mouth of the volcano to the very bottom was at least a thousand ters.
In an instant, Ye Qiu felt a wave of heat blasting towards him.
Whew…
Heat assaulted his senses, and it felt as if he was about to plunge into a sea of fire.
But below Ye Qiu, it was sothing even more terrifying than a sea of fire – it was lava.
Although it had not erupted, it was real, constantly churning lava.
It was this heat that rose from there.
In plain sight, Ye Qiu noticed the lava bubbling up; when a rock tumbled into it, it disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Such a temperature could not be withstood even by masters of legendary realms, who would turn to white bones in monts—or more precisely, not even bones would remain.
Adam, who was also plumting, witnessed the sa scene but with deep murderous intent in his eyes as he continued the chase.
He was determined to kill Ye Qiu with his own hands.
Less than a hundred ters from the lava, fifty ters, thirty ters, twenty ters!
At this mont, Ye Qiu felt that he could not continue to fall, otherwise, he would be stead alive by the heat before even touching the lava.
The volcano had only a small opening at the top, which was scarcely noticeable from the outside, but once inside, it felt more like a huge stear, where any living creature would beco cooked at from the steam if it stayed too long, even without lting in the magma.
Ye Qiu’s hand wielding the Kusanagi Sword suddenly thrust with force, burying the blade entirely into the stone wall, and simultaneously, his descent abruptly halted.
Adam’s hands, like iron claws, scraped against the wall, sparking as he abruptly stopped above Ye Qiu, and with a sneer, said, “Why aren’t you running now?”
“I’ll see where you can hide now.”
Adam laughed triumphantly.
The ga of cat and mouse should end here; if Ye Qiu ran any further, he would jump into the magma, which would be tantamount to suicide.
Adam, confident and without fear, stayed still above, readying to deliver a blow to Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu was silent, his situation desperately dire.
Above him was Adam, whose strength surpassed his own by a wide margin, and below was the scorching magma.
One more step, and he would truly be entering the gates of hell.
The situation was perilous, but Ye Qiu’s mind was exceptionally clear, his brain working at breakneck speed to figure out how to dodge this imminent catastrophe.
Heaven lacked a ladder, earth had no door, and suspended in mid-air, he faced a certain death.
Ye Qiu’s eyes flickered; he refused to accept dying here.
“Haha, what’s the matter, scared?”
“Why don’t you beg ?
If I’m in a good mood, maybe I’ll give you a quick death.”
“Otherwise, one slap from and you’ll fall into the magma, where the lava will lt you, leaving no remains.” Adam’s laughter echoed at the bottom of the volcano, eerie and terrifying.
Ye Qiu ignored Adam’s indifference and mockery.
His True Qi was down to its last layer; not a single drop of True Qi Droplets remained in his Dantian, only so wisps of True Qi mist floating above the pool of his True Qi.
How could he escape to the heavens without strength?
Ye Qiu racked his brain but could not co up with a solution.
Adam could strike at any mont, leaving him with precious little ti to think!
Just when Ye Qiu was staring at the empty True Qi Pool, a thought struck his mind, and he shifted his attention to a mass of pitch-dark energy beside him.
It was ti for a desperate gamble!
Ye Qiu gritted his teeth, fixing his gaze on this dark energy.
It had originally been a lump of dark crystal stone, but had transford into a gaseous state and taken over the True Qi Pool’s place, occupying half his Dantian.
Now, Ye Qiu’s only hope was pinned on it.
“If you don’t exert your power, I’m afraid this is where I’ll et my end,” Ye Qiu said with a bitter smile.
In the past, whenever he activated the dark energy, it never responded.
But at this mont, Ye Qiu could only treat it as a straw to clutch at.
If he didn’t try, he would soon perish in this volcano.
Ye Qiu spurred the dark energy, but it remained still as ever.
Growing frantic, he cursed inwardly, ‘The dark energy is like an occupied outhouse that’s of no use.’ In this critical mont, it didn’t aid him to avoid peril.
Ye Qiu continued to stimulate it, but the dark energy was still indifferent.
“Hmph, ignoring my words, are you?
Fine then, I’ll let you taste what it’s like to be lted!” Adam suddenly struck down from midair, aiming a palm strike at the top of Ye Qiu’s head—a strike from afar.
Though Adam lacked True Qi, at his level, a casual palm strike could generate wind, and with effort, his palm could condense a force that burst forth from his body.
SSS-Class Beastn referred to this force as Beast Power, which only SSS-Class Beastn could possess, a force not unlike True Qi in nature.
The Condor Gill family had poured their blood, sweat, and tears into creating these artificial masters, and it was only the SSS-Class Beastn who were able to rival practitioners of the True Qi realm, with their special Beast Power being one of the reasons, as it was no weaker than True Qi.
A gust of palm-force surged towards him.
With nothing to obstruct it, it made a beeline for Ye Qiu.
Adam let out a cold laugh, thinking where could Ye Qiu possibly dodge to now?
If Ye Qiu dared to move again, he would unleash dozens of palm strikes in one go, confident that he wouldn’t fail to take him down.
However, contrary to Adam’s expectations, Ye Qiu made no move at all.
Even as the Beast Power was about to hit him, Ye Qiu didn’t even lift an eyelid, nor did he glance at Adam, simply bowing his head, his expression unreadable.
“Seeking death?” Adam watched this scene unfold, curious to see how Ye Qiu would be lted away, which would also dispel the bitterness in his heart.
“Die!”
Watching his attack about to hit Ye Qiu, a triumphant smile appeared on Adam’s face, which stopped abruptly in the next mont.
Adam saw a pair of red eyes, and Ye Qiu’s body was emitting dark vapors, like a ssenger from hell.
The aura around his body grew denser until his face beca almost indistinct, shrouded in darkness.
“What is this…” Adam watched Ye Qiu’s earth-shattering transformation, feeling as if Ye Qiu had turned into a different person in that instant.
Those were eyes of ruthlessness, detachnt, ones that seed to see through everything in this world.
Adam couldn’t see any emotion in them, only feeling that these were the coldest, most piercing eyes he had ever encountered.
“What happened?” Adam didn’t understand what caused such a change in Ye Qiu.
Why had his aura completely changed?
The Ye Qiu before him now felt even darker, more cruel, and colder than himself.
Even without any movent from Ye Qiu, the aura that radiated from him was unmistakenly dark and evil!
It was as if he was the source of all iniquity!
All of a sudden, Adam felt as if darkness itself had set its sights on him.
Looking at Ye Qiu again, he was shocked to find that Ye Qiu was brandishing the Kusanagi Sword and heading straight for him, those blood-red eyes flickering with blinding light—an expression deep in the marrow, thirsty for blood, and a ghostly smile hanging on his face!
