652: 0653 God Strikes with Thunder (First Update) 652: 0653 God Strikes with Thunder (First Update) After understanding the opportunity that Great Emperor-level powerhouses all yearned for, Ye Qiu and Jin Shanshun descended the mountain peak.

“I wonder if we’re too late by now…” Jin Shanshun looked into the distance and said.

He and Ye Qiu discussed it and decided to head straight for the Great Emperor-level opportunity after descending the mountain.

By then, it surely had attracted descendants from the ancient clans from all over, all vying for the opportunity.

If they were to go now, they feared they might be a step behind.

“It’s okay, acquiring a Great Emperor-level opportunity won’t necessarily be easy.

We’ve only been delayed by half a day,” Ye Qiu said.

Sitting on top of the giant sculpture’s head, they moved at great speeds.

As the sculpture sprinted, it seed to gallop across the sky, the wind whistling through their hair, and in just a few breaths’ ti, it vanished from sight.

Since Ji Lingchen, Mu Cannan, and Shi Qingbing were the first to pass through the floating bridge, the descendants of the ancient clans began to swarm up it.

Despite the relentless attacks of the six stone figures, many still made it across, leaving only the injured or weaker clan descendants standing at the beginning of the bridge, gazing enviously at those able to cross the floating bridge.

“It’s a pity that the strength of these stone figures is too strong; I simply can’t make it across, alas…”

“Great Emperor-level opportunity, right in front of us but out of reach!”

“Who knows what kind of Great Emperor-level opportunity Ji Lingchen and the other two prodigies will get.

Once the Great Emperor’s tomb closes, the status of the ancient clans within the ancient land may well undergo significant changes.”

Those clan descendants standing at the start of the bridge sighed, gathering in small groups and discussing bitterly how they hated their own lack of strength, unable to get past the stone figures and enter the hall beyond.

It had been three hours since Ji Lingchen, Mu Cannan, and Shi Qingbing entered the hall.

The clan descendants blocked outside the floating bridge, missing out on this grand opportunity, silently counted the ti, speculating who would be the final lucky person.

On his way to the site of the Great Emperor-level opportunity, Ye Qiu sat cross-legged on top of the giant sculpture’s head, his entire mind focused on the set of Cultivation Techniques for the “Twelve Heavenly Tribulations” in his mind.

Ever since he left the mountain, he’d been pondering over it, trying to understand this technique more quickly.

The Twelve Heavenly Tribulations Technique, as the na suggests, is divided into twelve tribulations, with each tribulation constituting one level.

Ye Qiu had fortuitously acquired the first level, which included only the cultivation thod for the first heavenly tribulation.

With his eyes closed, Ye Qiu ditated, striving to understand every word and sentence in order to begin his cultivation as soon as possible.

anwhile, Jin Shanshun was honing his arrows.

Having played a part in killing Ji Wuming, the arrows he shot could even injure those in the legendary realm; their might was not to be underestimated.

Therefore, on their way to the site of the Great Emperor-level opportunity, he prepared to reinforce his arrows.

One was busy cultivating, while the other attentively worked on his weapon.

As they drew closer to their destination, Ye Qiu’s understanding of the Twelve Heavenly Tribulations Technique deepened, and he began to cultivate.

His breath moved according to the description in the Twelve Heavenly Tribulations Technique.

Initially, as he cultivated according to the thod of the technique, the process was unfamiliar, rough, and slow.

But as he continued to practice and explore, his breath gradually beca more profound.

At the sa ti, whenever he circulated his breath according to the Twelve Heavenly Tribulations Technique, so black impurities seeped out of him.

Soon, Ye Qiu found the black substance erging from his body to sll unbearably foul.

“Is this the impurity from inside my body?”

Ye Qiu watched in surprise as the black impurity perated through his pores, accumulating bit by bit and emitting a foul odor within just ten minutes or so.

“This Cultivation Technique is indeed extraordinary; it actually expelled the impurities from inside my body.” Ye Qiu observed as he was nearly enveloped by the stench, making even Jin Shanshun start to cover his nose and look at Ye Qiu with a puzzled expression.

They imdiately stopped the manic sprint of the carved giant and found a river.

Ye Qiu jumped in to thoroughly wash off the distasteful sll.

After a delay of a few minutes, the two set out on the road again.

This ti as Ye Qiu cultivated the Twelve Heavenly Tribulations Technique, no more black impurities were expelled from his body; instead, the more he cultivated, the more his skin beca crystal clear.

Ye Qiu could feel that as he operated the Twelve Heavenly Tribulation Technique, every single cell in his body was rejoicing, as if granted a new lease on life.

Instantly filled with strength, his body felt like it had returned to its peak condition.

Ye Qiu’s heart stirred, realizing this cultivation technique could quicken the absorption of nature’s spiritual energy, constantly enhancing his body.

Boom boom boom…

Jin Shanshun looked up at the sky, sensing the gathering of dark clouds right above their heads.

“Is it going to rain in this Great Emperor’s tomb?” Jin Shanshun frowned.

He had no idea that the dark clouds were actually caused by Ye Qiu; as he executed the Twelve Heavenly Tribulation Technique, clouds had already begun to gather above.

The layers of clouds grew thicker, bringing a sense of oppressive gloom, making one feel as if they could reach out and touch the sky.

“Boom!”

A crack of thunder sounded.

Jin Shanshun’s eyes widened, his whole body breaking out in goosebumps.

Because he had just seen a bolt of white lightning strike down five ters in front of him, leaving his ears buzzing from the shock.

But that wasn’t the end of it, for another thunderbolt struck down right before his eyes.

“I haven’t done anything to incur Heaven’s wrath, do I really deserve to be struck by lightning!” Jin Shanshun cursed as he looked up.

Boom!

No sooner had he finished cursing than another bolt of lightning descended straight toward him.

“You’ve got to be kidding … all I did was grumble a little…” Jin Shanshun, terrified, quickly covered his head and made a dash to the side.

However, after taking only a few steps, he turned back to see the lightning bolt strike Ye Qiu’s body squarely.

“Brother Ye… it couldn’t be that you’ve done sothing against the natural order, and Heaven is punishing you!” Jin Shanshun stopped in his tracks as another thunderbolt ca down, hitting the ditating Ye Qiu.

With a loud zap that emitted blue smoke, Ye Qiu remained motionless, clenching his teeth in what appeared to be agony.

Jin Shanshun couldn’t understand why the lightning was targeting Ye Qiu exclusively, and he shouted, “Brother Ye, wake up!

If you don’t start dodging, you’re going to be cooked by the lightning.”

But Ye Qiu was still unmoving as lightning cloaked his body, turning his skin charred black, his clothes reduced to ashes in an instant.

Seeing Ye Qiu silent, bracing himself to take the hits, Jin Shanshun bit his lip: “Brother Ye, for your safety, I’m going all out.”

Hurriedly, Jin Shanshun ran over, lifted Ye Qiu up, and at the sa ti, the lightning struck again, hitting the spot where Ye Qiu had just been sitting.

Jin Shanshun let out a sigh of relief, glad to have dodged it, but as his gaze once again drifted to the sky, the lightning brewed in the clouds for a mont before rushing toward him again.

“Damn it, it’s not like I just killed soone nad Ji Wuming, why should the lightning bombard us like this!” Jin Shanshun spat out expletives, enraged, as the lightning seed to have taken a liking to him, striking wherever he stood.

As Jin Shanshun carried Ye Qiu around in a frantic escape, it seed to anger the Thunder God above, and the number of lightning bolts in the sky instantly increased tenfold.

Jin Shanshun’s body shook, no longer daring to stand atop the giant sculpture; he quickly leaped down, carrying Ye Qiu, and bolted away.
