Chapter 964: 0964 The Five Coiffures! (Second Update)

Jin Shanshun was shocked. He never expected these previously quiet slaves to suddenly turn so ferocious. Before he could react, they’d already lunged at Ye Qiu.

Jin Shanshun couldn’t help but shout out a warning to Ye Qiu, telling him to be careful, but by then it was clearly a step too late.

Ye Qiu showed no trace of panic or fear, as if the ambush from these n had already been anticipated in his mind.

Though these slaves had so foundation as Martial Artists, they were far from being capable of harming him.

No matter how they clawed, struck, or even bit at him, their efforts left no marks on Ye Qiu’s body. His physique seed as solid as iron. Even surrounded by the group, he remained completely unhard.

“Life or death—I’ll give you three breaths’ ti to decide. If not, I won’t hesitate to kill you all.”

Ye Qiu spoke calmly.

The five n, realizing they couldn’t defeat Ye Qiu, exchanged glances filled with alarm, then abruptly retreated, breaking into a sprint toward the wall in an attempt to escape the courtyard.

“Anyone who dares scale this wall will die just the sa.”

Ye Qiu’s voice rang out again. So hesitated mid-step, intimidated by the threat, and stopped moving.

Four n halted abruptly, but one—a burly man who was clearly physically stronger than the rest—ignored Ye Qiu’s warning. Using both hands, the man forcefully gripped the wall, leaving deep marks on it. Among the five, he was the most capable, and perhaps out of arrogant confidence in his own strength, he swiftly leapt onto the wall, preparing to vault over.

As his figure soared like an eagle ready to land outside, a fierce gust of wind suddenly whipped through the air. A shadow descended from above, snatching the man mid-flight and slamming him hard onto the ground. Simultaneously, a golden flash streaked before everyone’s eyes.

Whoosh!

In an instant, the golden light pierced through, and the burly man dropped to the ground, blood spraying from his chest as he died on the spot.

Ye Qiu watched it all indifferently. With a motion of his hand, a black-feathered figure landed on his shoulder, making Ye Qiu look like a god or demon taming a magical beast.

The remaining four male slaves, along with the huddled female slaves, all looked terrified. Ye Qiu’s massive bird had just rcilessly killed one of their own in the blink of an eye.

Jin Yu’s growth had far exceeded Ye Qiu’s expectations. Now it had condensed True Qi, and could even turn its feathers into arrows for attacks. Its speed was so incredible that even Jin Shanshun had to be cautious when defending against it.

Earlier, when that male slave tried to escape, Ye Qiu didn’t intervene personally—he rely conveyed a command to Jin Yu, which swiftly carried out the kill on his behalf.

It wasn’t that Ye Qiu enjoyed killing, but the slaves he purchased carried too many uncertainties. If he didn’t adequately intimidate them, they would certainly never take him seriously.

Looking at the nine silent figures before him, Ye Qiu calmly said, “It’s truly unfortunate that the one who just died didn’t heed my warning. I hope this is the first and the last ti. If anyone else acts like that man, their end will be even grimr.”

These people had surely judged their buyer carefully. They assud Ye Qiu was just a young man, appearing to have no powerful allies nearby. So, when they were unbound, so had imdiately thought about killing him and making a run for it.

Had they faced the Three Great Ancient Clans, even if given a hundred tis the courage, they wouldn’t dare attempt to escape openly.

“I don’t care how you beca slaves. Right now, I’m offering you freedom, and I hope you’ll cherish it. I won’t demand too much from you, but I, Ye Qiu, won’t nurture idlers either. I spent twenty-five third-grade Crystal Stones to buy you, and you can work here to earn Crystal Stones. Once you earn three third-grade Crystal Stones, I’ll grant you true freedom.”

“If anyone among you wishes to stay and continue working for , I’ll gladly welco you. You’ll even be allowed to join the Ye Clan and beco one of its mbers.” Ye Qiu’s words left the nine stunned. When he reached the final part, visible joy flickered in their eyes; Ye Qiu had actually promised them genuine freedom.

“Did you hear what I said?” Ye Qiu asked loudly.

“Yes!” The nine replied in unison.

“Shanshun, take them to change into clean clothes and scrub them down thoroughly,” Ye Qiu ordered.

Upon hearing this, the five female slaves all blushed, embarrassed by how dreadful they slled.

However, their expressions quickly turned sour again. They’d long heard stories of female slaves being cruelly abused after being purchased—especially as objects for powerful n to vent their desires. Was this cold-faced young man planning to do unspeakable things once they’d cleaned up?

Reluctantly, the five girls followed Jin Shanshun to bathe. They spent three to four hours scrubbing, revealing just how deeply their fears ran.

Once all nine had changed into fresh clothes, their faces clean and brightened, their appearances beca much more presentable.

After being shocked by Ye Qiu’s earlier actions, the nine held great respect and fear for their new master. At least the five female slaves were filled with both awe and trepidation.

As for the other four n, their dominant emotion was unease.

The nine observed Ye Qiu closely. Though they’d been here less than a day, it was clear the clan consisted of only two mbers: the ruthless, cold Ye Qiu before them and Jin Shanshun, who’d recently transford from a hefty man into a muscular one.

Ye Qiu didn’t shy away from their inquisitive gazes and said, “You might be curious about my identity. In this ancient land, no one doesn’t know the na Ye Qiu. I have no powerful ancient clan backing ; I’ve built everything myself here in the Ancient Land. You may scoff, thinking I’m nothing more than a small figure. That’s true—I, Ye Qiu, am indeed a re small figure, but I’m not soone anyone dares to trifle with.”

“Since I’ve bought you, you are now my slaves—until you’ve earned enough Crystal Stones, that’s your status. So you must understand, the only way you’ll have a chance to pursue vengeance, repay blood debts, or reclaim lost clans is to earn your true freedom here.”

Ye Qiu’s words made the nine reflect deeply. At least, it seed Ye Qiu was different from other buyers.

This youth appeared special. Despite his cold and heartless deanor, he didn’t treat them excessively harshly.

Jin Shanshun led the four n off to do odd jobs, such as clearing the courtyard and pulling weeds.

That left Ye Qiu alone with the five girls.

The five girls continued fiddling with their clothing hems, clearly unused to wearing clean clothes. Although they felt so relief, their worries lingered, unsure how Ye Qiu intended to treat them.

Ye Qiu addressed the five, “What are your nas?”

“Master, we have no nas,” one girl ventured nervously, the first to speak. She was the oldest of the five, perhaps seventeen or eighteen years old.

Ye Qiu nodded, then decided, “I’ll give you nas. Starting from the eldest, you’ll be Jin’er, the next will be Mu’er, followed by Shui’er, Tu’er, and Huo’er…”

After being granted their nas, the five imdiately began tidying the rooms under Ye Qiu’s orders. He made no unreasonable demands, which allowed the girls to breathe easier. It seed their master wasn’t the type to abuse his slaves. They were fortunate.

After everything was arranged, Jin Shanshun approached Ye Qiu and said, “Young Master, these people are still slaves in na. To truly earn their loyalty won’t happen overnight.”

“Why are you calling Young Master again? Just address as Brother Ye,” Ye Qiu replied.

Jin Shanshun insisted, “It’s better for to call you Young Master. Since I’ve chosen to follow you, I need to show proper respect and shouldn’t call you Brother Ye all the ti.”

Ye Qiu chose not to argue over trivial matters with Jin Shanshun and let him do as he wished.

He then added, “If we want to expand, we’ll have to rely on these slaves. There’s no other choice since it’s just the two of us right now. We can’t demand manpower from other ancient clans.”

“As for earning their loyalty—it’ll take ti. Trust ; the Ye Clan, though currently just the two of us, will beco stronger and stronger.” Ye Qiu spoke calmly.
