Chapter 990: 0990 A Thrill Without Danger! (3rd Update)

The deeper Ye Qiu ventured into the Barbaric Wilderness Forest, the fewer ancient beasts he found. Especially upon reaching this wintery forest-like area, it was difficult to spot even a single bird or beast.

Quiet, eerily quiet!

Ye Qiu had been moving forward for an entire day; apart from the increasingly white vastness, he saw no living creatures.

Finally, Ye Qiu saw a tree blooming in winter, bearing white, crystal-clear fruits.

What is this?

The fragrance was incredibly alluring, tempting one to pluck and take a bite.

Ye Qiu did not approach imdiately, suspecting that it must be sothing valuable. Growing here, it surely attracted the attention of other ancient beasts.

His eyes searched all around. After careful observation, Ye Qiu finally saw the guardian beast of these icy fruits. It was coiled in the tree, entirely snow-white, blending with the tree, even its eyes were white, making it hard for Ye Qiu to notice.

“If I rashly go forward, I might not even pluck the fruits before being attacked by this white snake,” Ye Qiu murmured.

He didn’t know how strong the white snake was, but living in the depths of the Barbaric Wilderness Forest, it must not be weak. Ye Qiu dared not act recklessly.

He coveted the fruits on the tree but dared not act rashly, fearing to anger the white snake, as it gave Ye Qiu a sense of danger despite his high realm.

Thus, Ye Qiu stopped not far from the tree, while the white snake just quietly watched him, seemingly uninterested in attacking as long as Ye Qiu did not make any sudden moves to take the fruits.

Should I just give up like this?

Ye Qiu felt sowhat reluctant, sensing the fruits on the tree containing rich Rule Power. He guessed it must be the Rule Power of ice. If obtained, Ye Qiu’s understanding of the ice rule could greatly increase.

Without a good thod, Ye Qiu remained motionless, while the white snake kept its eyes on him, thus both remained still.

After a while, Ye Qiu suddenly felt his heart stir as he unexpectedly saw the white snake crawl down the tree and move away. Ye Qiu was puzzled—did it no longer want those fruits?

The white snake leaving—does it an there’s no danger and he can pick the fruits now?

Ye Qiu felt suddenly fortunate that the mysterious guardian white snake of the exotic fruits just left.

Faced with this lucky opportunity, though Ye Qiu was doubtful, he couldn’t afford to hesitate. He instantly leapt up the tree, his hands darting out, swiftly picking five fruits.

So cold!

Ye Qiu felt like holding not fruits but sothing a hundred tis colder than ice. This cold seed to seep into the bone, making him feel like his very soul was about to be frozen.

Ye Qiu didn’t want to delay further, feeling that with a few more breaths, he might beco an ice sculpture, eternally frozen here.

He felt his blood congealing, his limbs barely functioning.

He quickly opened his spatial bag, took out a large wooden box, placed the icy fruits inside, and closed it tightly to prevent other items in the bag from getting damaged.

Seeing six or seven fruits still on the tree, Ye Qiu thought for a mont and decided not to pick more. No matter what, the white snake always guarded these fruits. If he took them all, the white snake would have waited in vain. And now, with the white snake voluntarily leaving, seemingly offering the fruits to him, Ye Qiu was not the kind to be overly greedy; taking half felt fortunate enough, taking them all would be too greedy.

After leaving, a little girl appeared atop the icy tree. If Ye Qiu returned and saw the little girl, he’d be greatly shocked because she had been sitting on the tree trunk when he picked the fruits; the white snake had swiftly left due to her presence.

She seed like the ruler here. Few ancient beasts could enter this icy area at the center of Barbaric Wilderness, even those safeguarding the natural treasures around had to flee upon seeing her.

Ye Qiu wouldn’t have imagined that this little girl truly treated this place as her backyard, with no ancient beast daring to challenge her.

As Ye Qiu continued forward, covering several dozen miles, he felt the cold intensify ahead, so much so that Jin Yu couldn’t stand it and halted, prompting Ye Qiu to ponder the great gains of this journey.

Because on several occasions, Ye Qiu discovered precious herbs guarded by powerful ancient beasts, yet in no ti these beasts would leave on their own. Once or twice, it was fine, but after four or five tis, Ye Qiu found it odd. Were they intentionally letting have them?

Yet this didn’t make sense. The last ancient beast he encountered felt imnse even from the front, instilling a sense of smallness, almost immobilizing him. But this beast rely glanced at him, then fled panicked.

Ye Qiu didn’t believe he possessed any overpowering aura; his strength wasn’t sufficient to scare off powerful ancient beasts. So why did they all flee in panic was unclear to him.

Such events, though beneficial, felt strange. Ye Qiu decided not to delve deeper. The gains from this trip to the Barbaric Wilderness Forest were ample enough, with herbs containing Rule Power amounting to two kinds—no less valuable than obtaining eggs from two different ancient beasts.

Moreover, this doesn’t include other herbs, especially those collected from the icy zone, all suitable for crafting supre elixirs, exceptionally rare, likely unmatched even by the three major ancient clans.

Ye Qiu began his return journey, gradually exiting the icy area, before turning for one last glance at this unique region, then swiftly departed.

The little girl stood on the ground, watching Ye Qiu leave, saying blandly, “An interesting human, a not greedy human, is indeed rare.”

Riding Jin Yu, flying through the Barbaric Wilderness Forest, Ye Qiu felt quite cheerful, sensing it was ti to leave. Despite the forest being regarded by many as a forbidden zone, exceedingly treacherous, to Ye Qiu, it wasn’t a life-or-death challenge. On the contrary, he gained nurous precious herbs here, which, once refined into elixirs in the ancient lands, would cause a remarkable transformation in his strength.

Ye Qiu firmly believed in this. With the various herbs in his spatial bag, he felt confident he could break into the mythic realm, allowing him to confront the three major ancient clans.

While contemplating his plans upon returning to the ancient lands, he suddenly sensed the air ahead growing heavy again.

Ye Qiu was startled, raising his head, his gaze pausing.

He saw, ahead, a black mass of vultures blocking their path, especially a golden vulture perched at the front, staring at him and Jin Yu.

“Not good.”

Ye Qiu expected his good luck to continue until leaving the Barbaric Wilderness Forest, yet he felt frustrated encountering this formidable group of birds again.

“What a mix of joy and sorrow!” Ye Qiu smiled bitterly.
