Xia Sanwa's safe return brought joy and surprise to Xia Guifang and her daughter, as well as Wang Kuishan and his wife. None of them expected that Wang Xiaoqiang could rescue Xia Sanwa so thoroughly in such a short ti. Even special police might not have been able to achieve this, creating a feeling as if they were in a dream.
It wasn't until Xia Sanwa started speaking, his distinctive duck-like voice echoing in their ears, that they recovered and believed the scene in front of them.
Previously, they only knew that Wang Xiaoqiang was formidable, successful in business, wealthy, with enterprises spanning the globe. But now, they realized Wang Xiaoqiang possessed capabilities and influence beyond their imagination.
"Little Qiang, we should return ho; I never feel settled here," Wang Kuishan told his son, feeling uneasy in New York, quite understandable given his lifelong rural lifestyle.
Especially after Xia Sanwa's incident, his unease grew. In fact, he wasn't the only one feeling unsettled; Wang Xiaoqiang's mother and Xia Guifang and her daughter shared his uneasiness.
Wang Xiaoqiang noticed their sentints and, naturally, refrained from persuasion, simply saying, "Alright, I'll go shopping with you today and send you back tomorrow."
Wang Xiaoqiang's decision stemd from fearing that the Top Ten Alliances might target the four older folks and Xia Guifang during their journey ho.
"Little Qiang, who can enjoy shopping now? You haven't found Luoo Yuqin yet," Xia Guifang reminded him, her face marked with worry.
Concerning Luoo Yuqin, Wang Xiaoqiang wasn't too worried. After all, with her strength, no one on Earth could match her, let alone harm her. Wang Xiaoqiang believed her disappearance had two possible explanations: either she sneaked away back to the Biluo Realm or got trapped by those two Earth Immortals from the Ancient Immortal Realm.
If she had escaped, Wang Xiaoqiang would let her go freely. If those Earth Immortals trapped her, she wouldn't be in any life-threatening danger since the Female City Lord was in his possession, preventing her brother from acting rashly.
Pulling Xia Guifang aside, Wang Xiaoqiang whispered, "Little Fang, actually, Luoo Yuqin isn't a nanny. I hired her to protect Mom and Dad. Actually, she's a bodyguard, skilled in Kung Fu and other skills, so don't worry about her safety. I assure you she'll be fine."
"A bodyguard? That explains it; she's so courageous — she is indeed a bodyguard…" Xia Guifang realized, and her heart settled sowhat.
"Alright, I'll spend today shopping with you, and then tomorrow, I'll take you back." Wang Xiaoqiang patted Xia Guifang's fragrant shoulder.
Xia Guifang nodded in agreent.
Flushing is ho to many Chinese residents. There, many Chinese Aricans live, and naturally, there are plenty of Chinese-operated shopping centers and restaurants, like the Holiland Supermarket, which has a branch there.
Though renting nearby accommodations, for days the four older folks and Xia Guifang had driven to visit famous buildings and tourist spots, overlooking the street scenery nearby and missing out on the Chinese-run supermarket nearby.
When Wang Xiaoqiang guided his wife and the four older folks to the street where Holiland was located, Xia Sanwa imdiately spotted the Holiland Supermarket and shouted in surprise, "What? There's a Holiland Supermarket in the United States too? Could it be just a nasake?"
"Dad, Aricans wouldn't use this na for their supermarket. This was opened by a powerful woman from our country." Wang Xiaoqiang explained, feeling imnse pride since the woman who opened that supermarket was his and had given birth to his child.
However, in front of his wife and the four older folks, it was inconvenient for him to reveal this.
"Here, people from our motherland are like locals, so since we're here, let's patronize a fellow countryman's supermarket — can we do that?" Xia Sanwa suggested, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Of course, we're out here shopping, aren't we? Why not?" Wang Xiaoqiang replied.
Xia Sanwa realized, saying, "Oh, I thought shopping was all about roaming the streets non-stop… Turns out it includes supermarkets."
Xia Sanwa's words drew chuckles, and Xia Guifang giggled, "Dad, you planning to assist Little Qiang still? With that level of understanding, do you think you can manage?"
"Girl, once we get to the supermarket, I'll buy a basket of ice cream for you. Let's see if it doesn't freeze your mouth. Hmph…" Xia Sanwa glared at his daughter and took the lead towards the Holiland Supermarket.
Xia Guifang gave a helpless smile, quickly following, afraid her father might cause trouble again, while Wang Xiaoqiang led the three older folks forward too.
It was just early autumn then, and New York's weather remained quite warm. Supermarkets had air conditioning, making them cooler than the streets.
Upon entering the supermarket, Xia Sanwa scurried through like a loach, his sly eyes darting around continuously and repeatedly rummaging through items on the shelves while praising aloud, "Wow, what nice things!" "What's this? Never seen it before."
His hair was divided in the middle, oily yet sleek, giving off an impression of earthiness mixed with a cunning look — part cunning, part naive.
All supermarket clerks and security personnel were native New Yorkers, and Xia Sanwa's appearance and behavior quickly attracted their attention.
Seeing him wandering around without picking up a shopping basket, touching everything without taking items from the shelves, clearly not buying anything, they grew alert.
One clerk instructed a security guard, who then began following Xia Sanwa. Indifferent to his tail, Xia Sanwa finally stopped by the snack section, noticing four people surrounding a clerk, sampling cantaloupe, recognizing a free tasting.
He approached and asked the clerk for one in Chinese, "Give one."
The clerk, unable to comprehend him, hesitated before glancing at him, finding his appearance amusing. Xia Sanwa attempted English, saying, "GIVE ."
The clerk hesitated before handing Xia Sanwa a piece of cantaloupe, only for the security guard to suddenly step up, snatching it, stuffing it in his mouth while eyeing Xia Sanwa mockingly, with contempt and disdain.
There is a type of person frequently visiting supermarkets without purchasing, only seeking tastes during promotions for a bit of flavor, sotis sneaking away small items when security personnel beco lax.
Supermarkets find this type hard to guard against and thoroughly detest them, and Xia Sanwa's appearance fit this image, particularly his actions raising suspicion. The clerk and security personnel mistook him for such a person, with the security guard fully convinced so that not even one piece of cantaloupe was offered to him. (To be continued.
