[Event: Chaos Race]
-An event spanning five checkpoint races. Each next checkpoint will only be revealed once you pass the current checkpoint.
—> Checkpoint 2: -Everyone will be randomly teleported into this 5000-kiloter square land after a minute, and a random level 150-200 monster will appear to hunt you every ten minutes. -Fifty pillars of light will shoot up in the sky every 10 minutes for everyone to see as the areas near these pillars of light hide a Golden Statue.
-Find the statue and shatter it with your attack to get a pair of golden wings and fly towards the Checkpoint gate 1000 kiloters high in the sky with various obstacles on your way—all other flying thods aside from golden wings won't work past 50 kiloters off the ground. The first 100 participants to reach the Checkpoint gate will win.
_Note: The pillars of light and status won't run out of stock until 100 participants enter the checkpoint gate and finish the race.
Rin and Erix looked at each other as they read the second checkpoint race and thought the sa thing.
'This race is crazy. Anything can happen anyti because of how it is structured.'
"The land is huge, and we won't et anyti soon if we are far away," Rin wryly smiled as she wrapped her hands around Erix's neck.
"Yep," Erix neared her and kissed her, activating Ignis Ed Intimacy. "We really need a skill that can allow us to check our location."
"If our special skill evolves, it could give us more benefits of our bonds, but," Rin shrugged. "Don't know how to evolve it."
"But," Rin kissed him back and smiled, "Let's spend the first hour searching for each other. I'll fly up in the sky and release a skill to give you a signal. If you can see it, co to ."
"Alright," Erix smiled with a nod.
The countdown hit 0, and both of them disappeared.
…
Erix appeared below a huge tree and the world was snowing at the mont, so the atmosphere was freezing.
'Now then, the first thing is to look out for Chaos beacons,' Erix thought as he narrowed his eyes and looked around.
'How do they look in the first place?' Erix internally asked, speechless. He had never seen it.
Shaking his head, he manipulated his armor set and flew up like a rocket.
"Haha, we et again, Space Affinity guy!"
Erix turned around and saw the blond-braided man, Marco.
"How about we team up?" Marco suggested with a grin. "Just teleport us to a pillar of light so we can-"
"No thanks," Erix smiled and disappeared by consuming a bit of Mana.
He appeared a kiloter away amidst a thicker part of the forest and then streaked across it while flying to get away from Marco.
Although they couldn't attack each other without using Chaos Gadget, Erix still wanted to steer away from that guy.
'Top priority is to et up with Rin before an hour passes,' Erix thought as he teleported again while flying, instantly crossing a kiloter.
'Before she sends a signal, let's check how far I can teleport at what cost,' Erix thought before he narrowed his eyes and looked up in the sky.
His spirit sense started traveling as it went up and up before stopping at five kiloters. 'Yeah, this is the limit. But the cost of teleportation would be high…'
Erix hesitated for a mont before he decided to go for it. He knew that his Mana consud differently based on the 'space structure' of his surroundings. So parts of the material world had tougher space structures, so if he teleported in such parts, he would consu more Mana.
'Let's see.'
Consuming 10 mana to wrap himself in Space Matter, Erix connected his current Space Limbo location to the point where his Spirit Sense stopped and teleported.
*Blink*
A second later, Erix arrived five kiloters high in the sky while his Mana was consud by 250.
'What the fuck?' Erix was dumbfounded. It only took him 10 Mana to teleport one kiloter away, but it took him 250 to teleport 5 kiloters away.
'It looks like I'll need to learn more about Space Limbo's structure,' Erix wryly thought. He must reduce the cost of teleporting far because this was too much.
Erix looked around after arriving this high in the sky. He reduced his presence and consud 100 mana to activate his self-created skill's skill rune.
tal Diablolicus, Maniac Brawler Form.
But since he reached the 2nd realm/level 2 in tal Affinity, he could use this full-body custom-made armor in a different way.
Erix's skin turned tallic while the armor set he had worn remained.
Two seconds later, Erix had coated nano-tal on his skin, basically replacing his skin with tal.
Moreover, he could change this tal's structure according to his will and choose which type of tal defense or gauntlets he wanted according to the situation.
Suddenly, Erix saw a bright light coming towards him out of nowhere. Startled, he teleported but saw the light passing through his head right before he teleported away one kiloter away.
"Not fast enough."
Erix heard the voice before the owner of the voice appeared and floated before him.
Gentle Death.
'But that was faster than I anticipated,' Gentle Death thought. 'His level is low, so his stats shouldn't be this high. Is it a Bloodline?'
Since Ignis Ed Intimacy gave a 30% increase in overall stats, Erix's all stats were at 780.
"What do you want?" Erix narrowed his eyes, his Mana and magic force revving. But the only thing he planned to do was to run.
But he hadn't run even after hearing him because he sensed no hostility from this middle-aged man.
"You can continue on your way, but that Chaos Beacon is mine," Gentle Death indifferently said before Erix couldn't even see how he moved his hand as a golden beam of Light elent shot to their left and destroyed a floating palm-sized dark blue crystal with black mist whirling inside.
"Chaos Beacon would have more chance of appearing if you are near another participant," Gentle Death said before he turned into a beam of light and swooped down like lightning.
'Damn it, so fast.'
'Light affinity…. It's powerful, and I think he hadn't even shown more wonders of it,' Erix thought, his fists clenched. 'I want to improve.'
Suddenly, Erix felt sothing as he turned to the west and squinted his eyes.
Faraway, roughly twenty kiloters away, Erix could see a faint lightning dragon.
'Rin!'
Imdiately, he started flying in that direction with his full speed of 1180 ters per second.
Only five hundred people were in this huge 5000-kiloter square land filled with snow, forest, and mountains, so it was hard to spot others unless they used flashy skills.
