At that mont, Su Qingxue arrived. She had spent the most ti with Ye Fan and was the woman who knew him best; she had seen through him almost completely.
Ye Fan put down the ancient to and asked, "Qingxue, why have you co?"
"Can’t I co?" Su Qingxue retorted impatiently.
"Of course, you can," Ye Fan hastily reassured her. "In this world, there isn’t a place my wife can’t go!"
Su Qingxue then said, "Ye Fan, the battle is tomorrow. I know you’re not feeling confident."
"How could that be? I’m brimming with confidence!" Ye Fan imdiately replied with a smile.
But when he saw the look in Su Qingxue’s eyes, his bravado instantly deflated. He knew he couldn’t hide his secrets from her.
"Qingxue, you’re right, I’m not entirely confident," he admitted. "But I’m more than willing to take on the challenge!"
"Hmph, that’s more like it. Ye Fan, I’m truly afraid. Although you are a creator of miracles, don’t you think this attack is a bit too rash? Even a reconnaissance mission would have been better!" Su Qingxue said, her voice laced with worry.
This war was no child’s play. Setting aside the Spirit Domain’s myriad tactics, the Slaying Spirit Array alone was extrely dangerous.
Ye Fan pulled Su Qingxue into his arms. "Qingxue, I know you’re worried about , but rest assured, I am at least seventy percent certain of success.
"Besides, if I can’t break the Slaying Spirit Array, I can at least retreat unhard. The mont I feel I’ve lost the upper hand, I will withdraw imdiately."
After Ye Fan’s comforting words, Su Qingxue finally nodded. The more ti they spent together, the more she worried about him. Though she pushed herself to achieve new breakthroughs to help him, she realized that no matter how hard she tried, she could never truly be of assistance. This weighed heavily on her heart.
The two held each other in a silent embrace.
COUGH, COUGH!
A sudden cough startled the couple, and they quickly separated. Turning around, they saw it was Heather. The two of them were speechless. They were all family, yet she had to be so secretive.
"Why are you here too?" Ye Fan asked, at a loss for words.
Heather said, "You two were being so affectionate. Am I not allowed to co? Or did my arrival disturb you? If so, I’ll leave right now!"
"I was just joking!" Ye Fan replied with an awkward laugh.
Su Qingxue said nothing. After all, she and Heather maintained the strongest and most authoritative alliance within Ye Fan’s ’harem’.
At this point, Heather added, "It’s not just ; the others are here too!"
They turned to see that Alice had arrived, along with Luo Yazhi and even the Dark Night Demon Queen. Alright then! It seed all of his won from this world had co.
Clearly, they all understood him. They were more than just pretty faces, and Ye Fan was deeply moved. Seeing so many won who cared for him, he knew that, no matter what, he had to break the Slaying Spirit Array.
「The next day」
The entire Spirit Suppressing Army mobilized. This ti, their goal was nothing less than the complete annihilation of their enemy.
The Spirit Domain was in utter disarray. Its Spiritual Power was diminished, and many of the martial artists who had fled had simply died on the roads, their bodies left unburied. Such was war. In its current state, the Spirit Domain could barely protect itself, let alone find the ti to bury the dead; it was an unnecessary luxury.
They arrived before the Spirit Domain’s great defensive wall.
Seeing the dark mass of the Spirit Suppressing Army bearing down on them, the defenders were terrified. The Martial Artists of the Spirit Domain trembled, not at the enemy’s numbers, but at their King of Heaven. The battle between the King of Heaven and the West Spirit King had shaken the entire Spirit Domain. With the West Spirit King’s fall, there was no one left who could carry the banner.
Zhuang Zhou shouted from below, "Puppets of the Spirit Domain, do you not surrender yet?"
A Spirit Clan Commander on the wall retorted, "Spirit Suppressing Domain, don’t push us too far! If you continue this arrogance, don’t bla for activating the Slaying Spirit Array!" He had revealed his trump card imdiately, for he too was afraid. If he didn’t show his hand, the consequences would be dire.
Ye Fan’s voice was cold as he replied, "Oh? Is that so?"
With one swing of his sword, he shattered the city wall, which stood dozens of feet tall. The Spirit Clan Commander who had just been shouting was instantly cleaved into pieces. The invincible sword was simply too sharp.
The other Martial Artists were scared out of their wits.
"Activate the Slaying Spirit Array!" another Spirit Clan Commander shrieked, utterly terrified by Ye Fan’s attack. A single move had created such a devastating effect.
"Retreat!"
Following the command, the other leaders imdiately withdrew with the Spirit Suppressing People, leaving Ye Fan to advance alone as they had agreed.
Ye Fan landed atop the broken wall and quickly dispatched dozens of Spirit Domain Martial Artists. But just then, a thunderous roar echoed through the sky. Streaks of white light pierced through the gloomy clouds.
The Slaying Spirit Array had finally been activated.
Ye Fan steeled himself. This was the dreadful Array that had once made Master Fazhuang spill his blood. Now, he had to face this terrifying Array himself.
Four great pillars of light descended from the sky, each with a different purpose: the Slaughter Light Pillar, master of killing; the Shaking Sky Light Column, master of battle; the Guardian Light Column, master of protection; and the Void Light Column, which annihilated reality itself.
The four pillars trapped Ye Fan within the Array. It was a terrifying sight, one whose horror could only be understood through firsthand experience.
Standing in the center, Ye Fan carefully watched the changes in each pillar. Their power was truly unpredictable. So this is the Slaying Spirit Array? It certainly lives up to its reputation!
Ye Fan felt that in all his battles, though he had seen many terrifying killing arrays, this was the first ti he had encountered one as destructive as the Slaying Spirit Array. After all, this was an Array set up by the Divine Race; how could it be anything but imnsely powerful?
Gripping the Yuanhong Sword, Ye Fan prepared to resist the Array’s assault.
Suddenly, the Slaughter Light Pillar shot toward him.
"Break!" Ye Fan roared, unleashing his Breaking Sword to shatter the attack, but the Slaughter Light Pillar was instantly obscured by the Void Light Column. His sword strike hit nothing but air.
Before he could ready himself again, the Slaughter Light Pillar struck him. Ye Fan gasped, having never before encountered such a powerful killing force.
The Shaking Sky Light Column rushed in next. Ye Fan hastily defended, but the Void and Guardian Light Columns imdiately joined the attack. The four great pillars then launched a simultaneous assault, their combined speed and power enough to make anyone tremble.
Ye Fan defended and dodged with astonishing speed, but the four pillars were even more terrifying. This was undoubtedly his most challenging battle yet.
"Wanxiang Divine Shield!"
At Ye Fan’s shout, a blue phantom rose behind him, blocking two of the light pillars. But the Slaughter Light Pillar went straight for the blue phantom, crushing it to pieces.
KOFF! Ye Fan spat out a mouthful of fresh blood and dropped to one knee in the center of the Array. The four light pillars returned to their original positions, seemingly preparing for their next assault.
